Lovely Cottage, Ideal Location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was ideally located a few minutes from the village shop and two pubs. The shop is open every day until 8pm and it has most things but if you want fresh meat you would have to go to Inverbervie. The shop also gives cashback which is useful as there is no cash machine in the village. It has a garden which was lovely when the sun shined. It was big enough to accommodate 6 people with a sofa bed in the living room. One of the rooms has bunk beds. The cottage was clean, modern and and well maintained. The only thing missing was a corkscrew. The cottage is ideally located for the coastal walk to Inverbervie. Stop off at the Harbour Bar in Gourdon which was friendly.

The Anchor Pub was really good for food but you do have to book a table as it gets very busy. The Ship Pub was very friendly so I would recommend you call in there for a drink.

One little problem was we were supposed to be met on arrival but due to unforeseen circumstances we were not met but the key was left for us. We had a slight hitch as we could not get the heating to work in the living room when we arrived so we had to look for coal and kindling which we found in the garden. It would have been useful to have some information on how the heating works as none of the party had ever built a fire from scratch. The heating amazingly was working the following morning.

Overall, it was a lovely, wee cottage in a beautiful, friendly village. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Owner's Response: Hello, thanks very much for your precise review. Claire should have welcomed you, I'll check with her what happened. The heater downstairs is a storage heater , I'll write a notice about how it works and buy a corkscrew. Regards

Lovely cosy cottage in an ideal location.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and i visited the cottage with our two dogs for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised by the high standard for such a reasonable cost. The location was superb close to the shop and the pubs. We visited The Ship for a drink along with the dogs and relaxed by the fire.

There is also an open fire in the cottage which added to our enjoynent at getting away from it all.

Would definately recomend this cottage to anyone who wants to relax with there dogs.
