Beautiful house but some let downs
The house is in a great location and is a lovely building. The garden is gorgeous and very relaxing with a great outside space for sitting and relaxing.
We arrived exactly at the arranged time but the house manager was not available and sent someone else. The information given was "here are the keys, I've been told to tell you not to use ATM's outside but go into pick and pay". That was it - and left. We are not demanding guests and are well travelled and used to getting on with it, but we had been travelling for 19 hours and were expecting a 4 bed house and were surprised to only find 3. It took a phone call to discover the 4th bedroom was in the garden. There was a broken fan in that room, two fans upstairs and none downstairs. The home was not clean, in particular the floors in the bathrooms. It was a lovely house that could do with a deep clean and de-ckutter. However the communication and information from the owner couldn't have been more helpful . This was our 5th stay in Franschoek, we have experienced better but it certainly was not the worst.

Not as described
The property was not as described. Had we known the correct situation we would not have booked it.
To all fellows renters: avoid this tenant!
They were a real pain: wanted to shoot fireworks to celebrate 100 years of the end of World War I in a area with thatched roofs. Then pretended the house was advertised with AirCon which it wasn't.
Enjoyable stay in great location.
Great location, safe neighborhood to explore the winelands, go hiking, touring, etc and one hour from Cape Town airport. Fully equipped with everything needed for a month's stay. Sleeps 8 people comfortably. Nice backyard. We were there in May / June, so too cold to enjoy pool. Walking access to town center and all shops and restaurants in Franschhoek. Owner, Dr. Vinee and property manager, Ria, were very accomodating. Property could use a little TLC and updating, but overall experience was just fine.
Fantastic. Clean and well equipped.
It was perfect. It had everything we could hope for.
Perfect in every way
Had a fantastic 2 weeks in Phillipe's house. From start to finish, everything was perfect. Phillipe is very easy to deal with and arrangements and payments were very smooth. We were met by Ria who was lovely and arranged for bed changing and a bit of cleaning at a very good price.
The house is extremely comfortable and very well equipped- there was absolutely nothing missing as there can be in some holiday rentals. It is obvious that this is used by the owner so it really is like home. The beds are comfortable and the water pressure is good so a nice refreshing shower is guaranteed. Lovely garden for those summer evenings and an easy walking distance to town and supermarket.
Thoroughly recommend and will definitely stay here again when we next come here.
