Great communication and check-in process. Very clean and convenient location near the Vatican.
Wonderful Roman Holiday!
Our experience was great and we would highly recommend Casa Candia to anyone. It was a very convenient location - only a couple of blocks from the Vatican and in walking distance of many attractions. Also, there were several grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Marta, our contact, met us at the property and gave us a thorough introduction to the property and surrounding area including instructions on everything in the apartment. She was very informative and helpful. We had a bulb in the ceiling of one of the bedrooms that was flickering and it was very annoying. She promptly had someone come out and replace the bulb. The apartment was lovely - much prettier than it appeared in the online pictures. It was new, clean and modern. Also, the air conditioning worked very well. That was important because it was August and very hot outside. We had been in Europe for two months at that time and it was the best AC we had encountered.
Everything went smoothly, manager was extremely helpful, apartment and location were great.
A perfect apartment... un apartmento perfetto
My husband is concerned I will write too many good things and Marta & Mateo will be forced to raise their prices ;) Having said that, I can’t say enough good things about the apartment on Via Candia. The pictures do not do it justice. It is a very functional apartment. There are 3 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large eat in kitchen with seating for a minimum of 6 and probably a maximum of 10 plus a very large living room. However the living room also has a convertible couch & chair. We utilized the couch when my step daughters stayed with us for a couple of nights. My son slept there. (The room is enormous) The pull-out couch was quite comfortable & as with all the other bedrooms, there was plenty of drawer space & closet space. Upon entering the apartment you enter into a foyer, on the right hand side there is a large closet containing cleaning supplies. It was there we also found additional paper towels and toilet paper, etc. (It is one of the few trips I’ve been on in Italy, and I’ve been there about 10 times, mostly staying with family, where there was ample toilet paper;) . On the left-hand side, upon entering the apartment, is the living room/additional bedroom. I didn’t measure it, however I would guess somewhere around 22 x 20‘. Just a guess. As I’ve said there is a pull out couch and chair. All rooms stem from the foyer. On the right hand side after the large kitchen is the master bedroom. I say it’s the master because it’s the only bedroom with a large bed, queen almost king, it also has the only entrance to the terrace, which is quite long & actually quite lovely. It overlooks the common courtyard, however many people use their terraces. We enjoyed it for nightly glasses of wine, aside from an excellent place to dry our clothing. I think I forgot to mention there is a washer in the kitchen. No dryer. It’s not necessary. Our clothing was dry within a few hours on the terrace. Also located in the master bedroom is an en suite bathroom. It’s a little bit narrow, however perfect for two people. Leaving the master is the common bathroom, which is quite large. There is also another bedroom, with two single beds which are put together with another en suite. This is a lovely large room with street views. The final bedroom does not have an en suite, however it has an enormous walk-in closet! The apartment also has plenty of mirrors, outlets and above all charm. Clearly a lot thought was put into the refurbishment. Bravo!
Great location, Matteo and Marta were very nice and extra helpful with me and my
Lots of good restaurants, few blocks from
Metro, few blocks from the Vatican
Apartment was very clean, contemporary very comfy for a family of 6!
It always feels like a leap of faith, renting something several thousand miles away, sight unseen. We knew what we needed and this seemed to fit our needs. Our hosts, Marta and Matteo were very helpful and when we got to the Apartment, it was everything we expected and needed! It was close to the Vatican, the Subway and therefore access to everywhere we wanted to go. There were a lot of excellent restaurants and shops within walking distance! During down time, I really even enjoyed just watching traffic down on the street, from the Living Room window! We had a great time, and if we get the chance to go back, I would definitely consider staying there again. Thanks for helping us have a wonderful Rome experience, Marta and Matteo!!
Candia House is located in the heart of Rome, the Vatican, a few steps from the metro 'A' (Ottaviano), and less than a hundred meters from the Vatican Museums, the neighborhood as well as the headquarters Papale, is famous for its shops, restaurants, bars and pubs that make the 'Prati District' one of the most sought after and active in Rome.
A few steps from the house in just 5 minutes pleasant walk, you will arrive practically in the heart, (Via del Corso, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Via dei Condotti, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia ...) You'll be then to choose the beauties of Rome, which are therefore within reach of Candia House.
