About Linda McCay
The Story… Michael McCay and his family have farmed in Lodi for 20 plus years. Michael came to Lodi in the mid 1980s, started making wine in 1994 and launched the McCay Cellars label in 2007. From the beginning, Michael’s winemaking style has involved native fermentation...discovering and exploring the layers and trueness of this "old world style" winemaking. Concentrating on Zinfandel and Rhone varietals have become a passion at McCay Cellars. Farming…to the McCay Family means working together for the common goal of producing the finest wines possible. The Region… Lodi has some of California’s best climate for producing wine grapes. The Mokelumne Rivers’s sandy loam soil along with the Delta’s cool breezes provide the perfect and unique environment for growing wine grapes. Lodi's beautiful hot days during the summer months along with cool nights (an average of 57 degrees) help Lodi offer a wonderful climate for wine grapes…especially Zinfandel and Rhone varietals. The Winery… McCay Cellars produces small case lots, typically less than four hundred cases per lot (total production 4500 cases). McCay Cellars is a small boutique family owned winery that takes great pride in producing California’s best award winning wines. Michael McCay, owner/winemaker simply states his goal; “to make wine with a sense of presence that expresses the character and trueness of the vineyard”.

The property was very clean, quiet and comfortable. It was easy to access places around Lodi.
Perfect weekend getaway!
Vintner's Cottage was the perfect place to stay in Lodi! The cottage is nicely updated and has retained its historic charm, the backyard is lovely and private. There is not a full kitchen but the little fridge and coffee maker suited our needs. Downtown where there are numerous restaurants and tasting rooms is an easy walk. Linda was great about accommodating our late check-in time. We will absolutely stay here again!
I would stay again
Over all nice cottage.
Great place to stay to explore the wineries around Lodi. Cottage is in walking distance to downtown.
Great location in Lodi
The cottage is in a lovely neighborhood and within a short walk to dining, wine tasting and historic buildings downtown. A lovely bottle of red wine provided by the hosts was a welcome greeting after a long drive. We had a hectic family wedding schedule with events and family members in various places in and outside Lodi. The cottage was a great base - easy to get anywhere quickly and roomy enough for others to meetup briefly before carpooling. The beds were super comfy and we enjoyed a brief bit of sun in the privacy of the backyard during a very rainy weekend. We did manage to get a little wine tasting worked into our schedule, easy walks and drives from the cottage.
Would definitely return!
Accomodations were perfect for us. Nice to have quiet bedroom(s), spacious bath with lots of towels, living room, and yard. Didn't miss having a full kitchen - coffee, fridge and microwave met our needs. Great location to walk into main part of Lodi, especially for the Street Fair.
