An excellent option for those travellers looking for a rental in a local village

Mango Cottage is a home set in a large garden with its own pool. Monchy is a local rural community about 8/10 minutes drive from Rodney Bay , with beaches , restaurants and other tourist facilities. There are local buses from Monchy , but renting a car would be a preferred option. Mango cottage was built in a rustic style with pink sandstone and greenheart wood. The ground floor consists of a lounge ( flat screen TV ) and sofas plus a large kitchen with stove, microwave and fridge and a breakfast bar, plus one ground floor double bedroom with AC and wardrobes and a bathroom with shower. There is a patio under a large mango tree with ourdoor seating and a covered outdoor dining area , overlooking the pool. The second floor has two bedrooms , each with its own bathroom . The master bedroom with wooden floor , has a queen size bed and wardrobes and AC . There is a safe facility in the master bedroom. The master bathroom has a large spa bath and shower. The second bedroom has a double bed and AC . The bathroom is adjacent to this bedroom and has a large shower. A cleaner is provided several days a week. This Cottage was the owners own much loved home for about ten years. It is not in a "tourist area" so will appeal to visitors who want to experience a different location in St Lucian countryside. The owner, Glad, is happy to answer any questions about the house or the local area.

Glad bought an old small cottage in this getaway location and has compeletely rebuilt it in Greenheart and stone. A labour of love which I lived in and enjoyed for on my own for about eight years.

Out of this World!!!! Just Incredible, we fell in love with house and Island

House is only 10 minutes from the tourist trail but you feel part of the local community and they give a great welcome. However for us the garden and outdoor living area made this holiday really the best. Shade when needed, sun when wanted and the most amazing feel of being in the rainforest. Glad and Angie could not do enough and on hand when we had a question. We would recommend this house to everyone, there is nothing more that is needed. Thank you Glad and Angie, we will be back, can't wait.

Beautiful house with plenty of privacy

We - a family with two children - spent two weeks over Christmas and New Year 2017/18 in Mango Cottage. The property is at the edge of a rural village but still quite near the tourist hubs around Rodney Bay, about 10 minutes by car ... and for anybody preferring it a bit less touristy, the more quiet Atlantic side is not much further. Mini-buses serve the area but we found it easier to hire a car. The house itself is quite spacious, located in a wonderful, large, mature, private garden. The next door neighbours are not that far but virtually invisible thanks to dense vegetation. At times we heard some music in the area but that's what we'd expect in the Caribbean :-). Surely, natural sounds were dominant. We enjoyed all the privacy we had hoped for.

The pool is quite deep, a bit over 2 meters at the deepest point - which was just perfect for us since for a change we could jump in without hitting the ground.

Glad was very responsive whenever we asked for anything like mosquito nets for the beds (we prefer to leave the aircon off and open the windows at night). Thanks a lot. Talking about mosquitos, there were actually surprisingly few of them despite some rainfall.

The house is equipped with everything we needed: fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels in various sizes, a brand-new barbecue, ...

Mango Cottage is just a great place to spend a vacation!
