Our family had a wonderful time at this house. It is a beautiful secluded home. We played in the water every day and kayaked down the crooked River. The water is warm and clear, and nice and shallow for our little ones. This is a perfect spot for a quiet family vacation!
Thank you for the awesome review. We loved having you stay and welcome you back anytime. Have a great rest of the summer!
Just as advertised
The house was roomy and had all that was needed. We did use the kayaks and canoe and they were good. We were there during the week and it was very quiet.
The only thing that I would change is screen doors for the patio doors so that the main doors can be left open for air circulation. It got a bit hot, but there were fans available.
So glad you had a great time, despit the rainy weather. Sorry about the screen doors! We had to remove them to repair them (the previous renters had torn them). They are back in now. My apologies again!
Little slice of paradise!
Our 5 days at Papoose Pond were just what we needed to celebrate the end of the chaotic school year! The cabin was the quintessential rustic Maine getaway we were looking for. It was more than enough space for our two small families and also the perfect division of space: one family's bedrooms and full bath upstairs and one family's bedrooms and full bath downstairs. Adults and kids (ages 6, 3, and 3) spent full days in the lake. I've never had such a perfect lake swimming situation: sandy beach with a gradual entry and no lake gunk at your feet! A canoe and two kayaks are provided which we used daily -- since the lake allows no motorboats this was especially peaceful and felt safe enough that by the end of the week our 6 year old was kayaking on his own. There is also a very small, quiet stream that can be accessed by kayak for additional adventure. Nights were spent watching the sunset from the front porch and making amores around the outdoor fire pit. The grill and washer/dryer were top notch and appear to have been purchased fairly recently. In the week since we've been back, our kids have asked multiple times when we will return -- hopefully ASAP!
Thank you for taking your time to write such a comprehensive review. Much appreciated! Of course, we'd love to have you and your family back anytime.
This place was just as described, It's perfect to get away from daily routine and perfect for kids we really loved this place definitely recommend it and definitely would like to stay at this place again.
Thank you for the great review, and we'd love to have you come back anytime. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Great Memorial Get Away
Very quiet property with nice beach front. Enjoyed the kayaking, fishing and swimming. You can walk out a good distance without the water getting too deep which is really nice if you are traveling with kids.
Thank you for the nice review and I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation. Come back anytime!
During the Winter, enjoy the large, stone fireplace in the main room, nearby skiing, snowboarding and ice skating on the lake. In Spring & Fall enjoy leaf peeping and hiking in the White Mountains. During the Summer, enjoy the peaceful lake with private 230 ft lakefront property, sandy water entry, swimming, large canoe, barbecue on a large deck and a hammock with beautiful water and mountain views.

About Jeff and Angelica Bazyk
When Jeff and I were in our early 20's, we started going up to coastal Maine every year in the summer. Raised in NY and southern CT, we fell in love with the quaint New England villages, the pine air, cool night summer breezes, the people, and the laid-back lifestyle. In 2001, we lived in a condo in downtown Boston and wanted to find a weekend retreat that offered lots of outdoor activities throughout the year. We had heard about the Lakes Region in Maine and decided to explore that area of Maine. The first time we saw this Log Home, set in the woods, on a beautiful lake, we knew it had everything we had hoped to find. With nearby skiing at Sunday River and Mt. Abram's and the interstate trail system of cross country and snowmobile trails - it would provide us with plenty to do during the winter. In the summer, we could canoe, kayak, swim, hike... or just relax by the lake. And, the nearby quaint New England towns of Bridgton and Bethel reminded us of why we were drawn to Maine so many years ago.

Why Jeff and Angelica Bazyk chose Waterford
The house sit on a lake and faces the sunset. Each evening, you can sit on the deck, watching the loons on the lake, as the sun dips below the White Mountains in the distance.
