TV with Free Sat., Music Centre and the best bit - a Wood burning stove for that extra bit of warmth on a cold evening. We do not provide Wood due to the lack of space required to keep it in stock. The local milkman can supply logs, and additional other groceries items such as milk - to the door on your arrival. (Telephone number to contact them directly for supplies can be given on request at the time of your booking.)

On the same floor is the modern kitchen which has everything a great cook will need.

The spacious cottage garden - which has won numerous Gardening Awards over the years - has a patio with Table and Chairs and is perfect for alfresco eating or just planning the next adventure. It is easily accessed from the Door leading from the Living room.

A Garden shed is available for Bikes and Bits - to store whilst staying at the Cottage. Areas for drying, and storage of outdoor gear is upstairs on the Stair landing - which has access to the Living room.

About 5 minuets walking from the cottage, is Hawkshead village. Nearby are the market towns of Ambleside,Windermere and Keswick are great for shopping and are packed with museums and art galleries, as well as other attractions such as the Lake District National Park Visitors Centre in Windermere and the Beatrix Potter museum at Bowness.

This fabulous cottage offers the perfect setting for exploring The Lake District National Park, famous for its stunning scenery, abundant wildlife and cultural heritage. It is a perfect setting for lots of outdoor activities including hiking, climbing and mountain biking, water sports - including fresh water fishing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing (on Lake Windermere or Coniston) - or golf, with several excellent courses nearby.

Lovely cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Had a great weekend in beautiful spring sunshine. 3 Vale View is a very well equipped, cosy cottage. We had a walk in Grizedale Forest on one day, so no need for a car. Hawkshead village is only a couple of minutes away on foot too. Day Two was a walk near Coniston, which was just down the road. All in all, very happy with the cottage and its location.

Compact but well appointed cottage in convenient location.

  • 4 of 5

Stayed at end April 2017 - comfortable cottage for four people - well decorated and maintained - good views but is directly onto the road which was not a problem for us as there is adjacent off-road parking and a small garden with bike storage. Short walk to Hawkshead and very centrally located for Coniston/Windermere attractions. The wood burner leaves a bit to be desired!! Owner communicates efficiently. Would recommend.

Beautiful, well appointed cottage in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

3 Vale View is tiny but perfectly formed, and was the perfect accommodation for our family of four. The bedrooms are very small but the beds are superbly comfortable and wardrobe space is generous. The bathroom is nicely done with an electric shower that is not strong but has constant hot water (a bonus in February!). The living area upstairs is comfortable and cosy, with a wonderful view. After a day's hiking it was lovely to sit round the wood burning stove. Huge tv with flat screen, sound bar and sub woofer, DVD player and separate iPod dock. The kitchen was again tiny but very well equipped, with everything from a whisk to a microwave and a double oven. The shed has no lock so bring locks for your bikes if you want to put them away in there (recommended). It is literally five minutes walk from the centre of Hawkshead, but feels completely rural. All in all a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. February is traditionally a cold month - Spring is just around the corner. Glad you enjoyed all the technical toys, sub woofers etc., whilst being cosy and enjoying the views. The cottage build dates from mid 1800's, and rooms were small. Thrilled you enjoyed the stay and the modern creature comforts that we have subsequently introduced into the cottage. The walk from the cottage to Hawkshead makes it easy to access the Pubs, Tea rooms and local Markets ( when they are calendared in. ) Not forgetting the fabulous Grizedale forest nearby for hiking, biking, or picnicking. Fishing lessons available too, just a couple of miles down the road. Lots to do. Come again!

Comfortable Cottage, well equiped, perfect place for a wonderful Lake District holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We loved to stay in this cosy cottage. It is really well equiped and Hawkshead is a beautiful littel town with many pubs, restraurants, some tea rooms, gift shops and a coop market. Its a perfect place for hiking or visiting sights nearby like Ambleside, Windermere, beautiful fells, falls and tarns and of course Beatrix Potters Hill Top Farm.

We would rcommend this cottage.
