The accommodation of Casa Montgo is on 2 levels; the living accommodation and 2 of the bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are on the upper floor and there are 5 bedrooms and bathroom at the lower level.
Beautiful private gardens surround the house, there is an fully equipped outside kitchen, 12m x 6m pool, various seating areas, 2 large nayas, (one upper and one lower) overlooking the garden and pool.
The main living area has a spacious open plan lounge and fully fitted kitchen with dining area. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, plus family bathroom.
Internal stairs to 5 bedrooms and wet room with walk in shower. WiFi is available and Flat screen TV with Astra Channels.
The villa is approached through electric gates and has stunning views of the Montgo mountain.
We are a large Dutch family who have lived for ten years in Javea. We have many great memories of Spain and especially of this area. Very child friendly and beautiful weather all year round.
Philip Holt purchased this villa in 2003
This is a fantastic villa because of where it is situated; on the Montgo, with great views and close to all amenities. Very private and large family villa. Big families will always have enough space inside and outside.
You will have to taste it to know it.
If you wish to go on holiday with 21 people, you could book our next door villa for 6 people, homeaway nr: 1084124
We have had a fantastic holiday in this villa! There was enough space for my family and friends (15 people)! The villa was clean and very beautiful. Thank you so much, it was a lovely experience!
Our family stayed for two weeks in August. Firstly as a family of 15 comprising of 10 adults and 5 teenagers I can safely the villa provided plenty of space both inside and out for all of us. I cannot fault the grounds the villa is set in. The swimming pool was huge, plenty of space for all of us and our inflatables. The villa is set at the bottom of Mount Montgo, and the views of the mountain from the garden were amazing, especially first thing in the morning when the sun was rising. There is so much space in the grounds of the villa, we would have our lunch at the large table by the pool which had enough chairs and space for all of us, the outside kitchen came in very handy for keeping our beers and wine cold throughout the day. We spent our evenings sitting in the naya of the villa, again plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen in the villa is well equipped with everything you need especially for so many family members. There are two restaurants a 10 minute walk from the villa, El Gaucho and Restaurante Montgo, our favourite was El Gaucho, you cannot fault the food and service. There is a small supermarket within a 5 min drive away that bakes fresh baguettes and croissants every morning and also has a very good butchers. The main supermarkets are within a 10 min drive from the villa. My only negative about the villa is the lack of lighting and mirrors in the bedrooms, this affected the ladies of our family more than the men!!
This was our first time in Javea and we can honestly we loved it and we would defiantly come back.
I would like to say from the moment we booked our villa ( 12 months before we stayed) Philip and Joyce could not be more accommodating and helpful, from the very beginning right through to the end of our stay. So thank you Philip and Joyce
This is the second time we have stayed at Villa Montgo and it didn't fail to impress us on its second attempt. It is the perfect size for large families (we were three separate families on holiday for a 70th birthday). The pool is the best pool we have ever encountered with a private villa and Mount Montgo looming behind makes for the perfect early evening backdrop.
The villa is spacious inside and out and as we had three small children with us (4, 2 and 18 months) there was plenty of room for running around.
The property wasn't quite as clean as we remembered however the owners were out of the country due to personal circumstances and we believe they usually clean the property themselves. This did not in any way ruin our holiday.
It is in a great location with a short drive into Javea old town and Playa el Arenal. The sandy beach at Arenal and the pebbled beach at the port are both idyllic and perfect for children of all ages.
We would most certainly recommend this villa and would hope to return in a few years.
We stayed here last year, we liked it so much we came back this year. Pros Fantastic outside space and pool. Louise has been very good at sorting out some issues we had ( just iron wasn't working) the villa has most things that you would need in the way of kitchen equipment. The bedrooms are all very spacious. Cons.. Don't take this as too much of a bad thing it's just a comment.... The lighting in some of the rooms is not quite bright enough for a lady to put her make up on.... Could possible do with more mirrors (not that I look at myself that often.....) I would of liked a lamp by the bed, anyone who comes to this villa will really think it's fantastic. The only thing they could not provide was the weather.... But in 15yrs of coming to Javea this is the 1st year it hasn't been lovely sunshine
The villa is set in beautiful surroundings, and is really spacious and easily accommodated our large party of 14. On arrival the villa was very clean and Phillip the owner was there to greet us and was extremely helpful, so much so, that he even gave us a lift to the car hire showroom in the town. The outside pool area was brilliant for both children and adults alike. Most of the day was spent enjoying this large pool and terrace area. The villa was well equipped for our large party and for catering for 14 people. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms therefore no queuing ! Wonderful balcony areas for outside eating with an abundance of dining tables and chairs. The villa has some air conditioning, with additional fans provided, however it would benefit from air conditioning throughout. Whilst we were there we experienced some issues with a leaking fridge and sink causing food to defrost and had to constantly wipe the kitchen floor. Phillip explained that he was waiting for a part and was instantly on hand to try to rectify the problems which he did but the part only arrived towards the end of our holiday. There was also an issue with the swimming pool turning green after a few days, however this was dealt with promptly and the pool cleaners rectified this issue. Phillip is always on hand for any problems and is very pleasant and helpful and tries his best to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. A hire car is needed as the villa is set within a beautiful hillside location but a good walk to local amenities and to the town. Ensure you pack mosquito repellent and plugs as the whole group was unfortunately bitten. I would recommend this villa for large parties who want to relax and enjoy a very clean and spacious villa in wonderful surroundings.
The property is stunning! It is set in a beautiful location and is absolutely huge. It is very well maintained both inside and outside, and is well equipped with everything you will need - like a home away from home! I would definitely recommend it as a family getaway - we had children ranging from 1 year to 12 years old and they all had a great time.
We visited the villa with our two families (8 adults, 6 children) in June for two weeks and were very pleased with the accommodation.
Upon arrival the owner was very helpful and the villa was very clean. The owner also provided us with a handbook with lots of helpful information so our holiday could get started up quickly.
The villa itself is very spacious and private which gave us the opportunity to relax in comfort. We were thrilled by the large pool (which the children loved), and the well equipped outside kitchen was a great extra. The villa is also close to all amenities as stated on the website.
I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting to visit the area, and I hope we will be back next year.
The villa is situated in a fantastic location at the foot of the magnificent Montgo mountain. A beautiful tranquil setting close to both Javea and the typical Spanish village of Jesus Pobre. Javea is charming & quaint. The beach is exceptionally clean with beautiful soft sand. There are some excellent restaurants sprinkled around the colourful port area. The well known La Sella Golf course is close by. A labyrinth of tiny streets & quaint houses form the town area. Denia is also close by and sits in a peaceful area of the Costa Blanca & boasts a fabulous sandy beach, the largest in the area. Facilities include great water sports & a great choice of restaurants & bars. Famous for its abundant charm Denia still retains some of its character & picturesque look including the quaint fishermen's quarter, cobbled streets & a 12th century castle. Other places to visit include the Jalon Valley, Guadalest & Fonts D'Algar. There is a tennis court just across the road from the villa.
