Overview

About the property

5 bedroom, 3 bath - close to town but feels a million miles away!

The Bar 7 Bed, Bath and Barn is a historic log home on a working cattle ranch located five miles outside of the small mountain town of Meeker, Colorado. Family owned and operated since 1864, the Bar 7 Ranch is able to provide modern, nicely appointed lodging for up to 17 people. The grounds are well-maintained and offer the perfect setting for your Colorado vacation, family reunion, retreat or wedding (full service wedding accommodations including tent, tables, chairs and linens available - inquire for more information).

The Ranch House offers a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill, two full bathrooms, a snack bar and dining room with gas log fireplace, living room with satellite television and five bedrooms — including 7 double beds, one single bed and one set of bunk beds. The Ranch House comes stocked with linens and towels. On site laundry facilities are also available for our guests’ use.

Surrounded by numerous mature trees, manicured grounds, a large fire pit and called home by a vast variety and number of indigenous birds, guests can’t help but enjoy the expansive lawn areas at the Ranch House. Whether you see our yearly-returning family of foxes, the overly domesticated deer that hang out in the yard, or the herd of trophy-sized bucks grazing in the hay meadows (we call them “the boys”), we are certain that the Bar 7 Ranch is sure to become one of your favorite, return destinations.

The Bar 7 also offers two RV spaces complete with hook-ups and access to the Bar 7 Bath House (shared) which houses two additional showers, toilets and sinks (additional cost - $25.00/night/per RV space). Corrals/barn and hay also available.

About Meeker: For those seeking easy access to hiking, OHV trails, camping, hunting, fishing, backpacking, horseback riding, snowmobiling and other outdoor recreation, Meeker is a sure thing.

Fishing and hunting are also big businesses here. Anglers can take advantage of several public access fishing areas within a couple miles of town, and public lands outside of town offer a variety of fishable waters. A dramatically scenic drive is the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway; the 82-mile drive starts in Meeker and offers lots of picturesque pull-offs along the journey to Yampa.

Meeker is host to a roster of annual festivals, including the Meekerpalooza Arts & Music Festival (June), the Range Call Fourth of July celebration, White River OHV Rendezvous (July) and the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials (September).

For a peek into the history of the area, visit The White River Museum, which is housed in the 1880s U.S. Calvary Garrison's officer's quarters. See photos of early settlers and the stories and artifacts they left behind, including clothing and jewelry, uniforms from every branch of the service worn by Meeker men, moccasins made by a Ute Indian woman, an original hand printing press used by The Meeker Herald and much more.

Absolutely fantastic weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We came to Meeker for a family wedding. We had 7 adults and a 3 month old baby. Everyone was thrilled when we drove up and saw the place! We were greeted by Shannon and loved her on the spot! So helpful and welcoming. We had everything we needed. We were able to host other family members for a brunch and dinner which was so memorable to all of us! The other families stayed in local old hotels and were so grateful to come and hang out in comfort and beauty surrounding the home! Everyone commented on what a fantastic place we found!! Thank you again Shannon for everything and a weekend we will never forget! Mary Skulski❤️

Beautiful ranch, great for relaxing.

  • 4 of 5

The ranch is beautiful, and the cabin was really nice. Really cool interior/exterior design. It had everything you need in the kitchen, games in the closet, and a TV with plenty of channels to choose from (didn’t use this much, but I think it was like directv or something).

Plenty of beds throughout. The patio has a grill, table/chairs, and a great view.

The owner is really nice and very personable.

There’s only 2 downsides, which weren’t that bad. 1) The WiFi only worked if you were outside and walked toward the owner’s house, and 2) only a/c is in the dining room, and the upstairs rooms got fairly warm at night even with the window open.

All that said, I’d still highly recommend this place.

Grounds are amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay included the main usage of RV space. Our RV door open to a beautifully shaded manicured yard. The songbirds so relaxed the mind. Our family used the main house and it is right out of Better Homes and Gardens/Western magazine. Every perfect touch you could think of. The Sheridan family made this destination a definite return on our list and we have and do suggest to others for any occasion.

Great stay! Great place!!

  • 5 of 5

We had 17 people and the house was filled to the max, but there was plenty of room for everyone. The yard is big and plenty of room for the children to play. The Sheridan’s were very friendly and our group of men took to helping them out on various projects, which they very much enjoyed. We will go back for sure!
