Overall, the experience at the lofts was a 5/5.
Our group, 14 guys in their 30s, stayed at the 707 Loft for the Forecastle Music Festival. There was plenty of room for sleeping, eating, lounging (the lounge pit couch is amazing), and activities. We are a loud group of night owls, but didn't have an issue with noise inside the loft. The music player was great. The kitchen had everything we needed. The 3rd bathroom in the hallway was clutch when everyone was getting ready simultaneous.
The management team was top notch. They allowed us to check in early, responded promptly to any inquiry/request, and were easily reachable even though they are off site.
It is walk-able to a lot of bars and restaurants. Plus, Louisville now has electric scooters.
I would def stay here again and would recommend to friends.
Staying here, you are on the 2.5 mile “Bourbon Line”, the gateway to Bourbon country. Anchored between the Peerless Distilling Company two blocks to our west and Copper & Kings to our east, we sit on a line of bourbon attractions — Evan Williams, Angel’s Envy + the Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse. Grease Monkey Distillery + Moonshine University are also a few blocks to our south. There’s even more amber in our future… the Old Forester urban distillery + Rabbit Hole Distilling are opening in late 2017 + Michter’s Micro-Distillery is projected to open in 2018.
Welcome to the heart of bourbon distilling in Louisville!!
Yes, we are swimming in bourbon + yet Louisville contains so much more…
Within just a 2-block radius you can:
— Gaze at glass blowing artisans working on the ground level;
— Walk to the world-renowned 21C museum which houses the restaurant Proof on Main + the 21C contemporary art museum. 21C is open 24/7 (gentlemen, you MUST visit the men’s room while you are there!);
— Meander down Museum Row which includes the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, Glassworks, the Frazier History Museum, the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (the KMAC Museum), 21C 24-hour Museum, the Kentucky Science Center, the Muhammad Ali Center + The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. We are located directly on Museum Row as part of the historic Glassworks District;
— Imbibe at Bourbon Distilleries: Evan Williams + Peerless;
— Or jog to the Louisville Loop for your morning run in Waterfront Park along the Ohio River
The closest grocery + liquor store is in the CVS at 505 S 4th St, just a 5-8 minute walk from here.
ENTERTAINMENT: Centrally located for walking or driving a very short distance to some of the best dining + bars in Louisville — Downtown/Main Street (you can see it from the window!); SOFO/4th Street Live (0.6 miles); E Market Street/NuLu (1.3 miles); Old Louisville (2 miles); Bardstown Road/The Highlands (3 miles); and Frankfort Avenue/Clifton (3 miles).
I could keep going, but you are only staying for a couple of days, right? If our siren song has enticed you to stay longer or to plan your return, let us know + we can suggest an itinerary just for you!
PARKING AT MY PLACE: I am literally surrounded by parking! There is metered street parking directly in front of the building + in that strip only it's free before 10A, after 5P + on Sunday (NOTE: Always check the meter as the effective times are subject to change); Also there are parking garages directly across the street ($18/day) + directly behind my building ($10/day). Plus, there is slightly cheaper ($7 all day) open lot parking just down the block at the corner of W Market + 8th and to the west of the building ($5 all day) as well. (NOTE: The open lot parking is not best for overnight parking as it expires at either Midnight or 4A, depending on whether you pay at the kiosk or through the app.) This parking information was all true the last time I checked, but it's still all subject to change, as the parking authorities don't keep me updated when they make changes ;-D
TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS: Lyft, Uber, Yellow Cab + Ready Cab. Also, TARC (the Louisville bus system) runs a free downtown trolley—the ZeroBus—that stops directly across from the building about every 10 minutes (except on Sundays).
