Jane and Dennis DeWolf
About Jane and Dennis DeWolf
Dennis and I have lived in Highlands for nearly 45 years. We raised our 3 children in this home and they have each moved on and have their own families. Jennifer, Wendy, and Dennis, Jr explored and played in the woods and creek that surround the property throughout childhood. All three of the kids went to the K-12 Highlands School where I taught for over 30 years. I am now retired from full time teaching, but still enjoy substituting in the middle and high school classes at Highlands School. When I am not working I enjoy playing tennis and pickle ball. I also enjoy sewing and machine embroidery. My husband, Dennis, is a semi-retired architect. One of his last major projects with his firm, DeWolf Architecture, is The Bascom, a visual arts gallery and teaching facility. This unique structure is a very short walk from the house. When he finds time he also enjoys tennis and pickle ball for both fun and exercise. Dennis and I both enjoy camping and hiking. One of our favorite places is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We also do some volunteer work there when time permits. We hope that you and your family and friends will enjoy our house as much as we have. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have about our property or the surrounding area.

Great for Large Family Gathering
Great house for a large family gathering. Plenty of parking for 6+ cars. Easily slept 10 adults.
Neighborhood was quiet and a nice walk around mirror lake.
Several large table areas to fit the whole family around for games. Huge deck with terrific view for 4th of July fireworks. Great place!!
Great Mountain House
Great secluded mountain house. Outdoor deck was a huge plus.
Great Mountain House got a big group
This is a great mountain house for a big family. We had immediate families of two sisters, plus a guest , and plenty of room. It’s in a great neighborhood close to town, but completely secluded among beautiful woodlands above a pretty creek. No complaints except the gas grill is literally on its last leg (three have rusted off) and the dishwasher didn’t work). We would absolutely return to this fantastic house.
It was a pretty cool place.
We liked it, it was a nice house. A bit dated but still quite nice!
Great rental for family reunion
Dennis and Jane’s home was the ideal setting for our family reunion. The house was spacious and well equipped and close to Main Street Highlands. The stream at the back of the house is a hidden gem and the deck is perfect for entertaining. I would most definitely recommend.
Very nice for the group of 10.
The space worked just fine for our group of 10. We fed 18 two nights.once inside because of the rain and then thoroughly enjoyed the deck the second night.
