We have had a property in Oliva for five years. We love the area so much we have decided to live here permanently.
We have made many friends and enjoy the easy lifestyle, and particularly the weather.
We love exploring the area and have found some wonderful, beaches, historical buildings and of course restaurants in and around the town.
Maria meets all of the guests personally at the apartment so that she can hand over the keys and explain their individual use.
A welcome pack is also provided at no extra cost
Maria Brennan purchased this apartment in 2013
We have been searching for a second property in the area for a couple of years and when we found this apartment we jumped at the chance of buying a property at this popular resort.
Although built in 2006 it wasn't released until recently, so in effect it is a new build. The interior has been done to a high standard and we love the airiness feel it gives. With 2 patio doors leading on to the large, dual aspect balcony it has a lovely through breeze with the added advantage that there will always be shade on some part of the room and balcony.
The wonderful Blue Flag Beach is just a short walk away and stretches for miles
It is close to Oliva town centre, about 5 minutes by car, where you can stroll around the variety of shops, sample the local Tapas or peruse the colourful Friday Market.
Also as it is central to Alicante and Valencia, it means it takes a little more than an hour to reach it from the airports.
Because we are at Oliva Nova, there are so many activities you can participate in.
The hotel has a fantastic facilities, which include a gym, spa, swimming pool, a wonderful restaurant and of course the superb 18 hole golf course. These are all open to non-residents, providing you buy your food or drink there and the hotel charges for things like, the Spa, Gym, Golf etc.
There is a new equestrian centre which has started to hold the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour between January and April and again in October.
So, whilst one member of the family is playing golf or tennis or even learning to ride a horse the other members can relax by the pool, go the beach or even enjoy a relaxing spa treatment.
We are close to Benidorm, where there are Theme Parks, such as Aqualandia water park, Terra Mitica fun park or the Terra Natura where there are two parks featuring land animal and marine life. Also in Benidorm they have the nightclubs and shows which cater for all ages.
Oliva town has many colourful fiestas and it seems the whole town comes out to celebrate. The Falles (Bonfire) is in March and it is when they make huge sculptures from paper mache, which are then burnt on the 20 March. Every day is celebrated with fireworks. The Moors and Christians Fiesta being the biggest with parades of people in beautiful costumes and bands playing. This is held in July.
So as you can see there is something near our apartment for everyone to enjoy.
Tiene usted un apartamento precioso, cómodo y muy nuevo.
Lo recomendaré a nuestros conocidos y amigos
Great to be back! Just as lovely as we remember it especially the little touches such as the welcome pack. The property was very clean and well maintained. We really like the large pool that is on site which we can see from the apartment. There is also an inside pool if the weather isn't too great. This is a great apartment for a family of 4. Highly recommended!! Can't wait to come back.
This was our second stay in Oliva Nova, so we knew what to expect: beautiful beach, captivating countryside, a quiet resort with shops and restaurants within easy reach.
The apartment is well positioned, with a large dual aspect terrace, meaning that you always have sun and shade at any time of the day. Clean, well equipped - all you need for an enjoyable stay. Communal pool is fairly large compared to others in Oliva Nova, and if you pick the right time of the day, not so busy!
Oliva Nova beach must be one of the best ones in Spain: clean, beautiful white sand, long expanse of shallow water, and even at the height of the holiday season it is not massively crowded.
The British owners of the apartment met us on arrival and showed us around, despite our late evening arrival. They kindly provided a Welcome pack of everything we needed for breakfast the next day and included a bottle of wine for our first evening - very much appreciated! The Apartment was very clean, well furnished and equipped with everything we needed including a DVD player, access to English language TV and wifi. The outdoor pool is an excellent size and the indoor pool was perfect when shade was needed. A large, unspoilt sandy beach was about 10 mins walk away, or 5 mins drive with ample parking. Lots of shops and supermarkets nearby for food shopping.
Olivia Nova is quiet and secluded but there are plenty of possible day trips and two waterparks within about an hours drive away.
All in all, a great place for families with children and a comfortable 5* apartment. Would recommend.
This is a very nice private apartment, located in the Oliva Nova Hotel complex. Maria was a very pleasant hostess, who welcomed us with provisions for the fridge on our first night. There is a nice pool in the complex with limited sun beds. A car is a necessity for the area, even if just to drive to the beach (at least a 10 min walk). Car parking space is very tight, so advise parking on the road outside (we did!). Great towns nearby, Javia, Denia, though Oliva is limited. Valencia only an hour to the north, Alicante an hour to the south. Would recommend this for a couple or a family of 4 with small kids.
Stayed for 5 days in September and found apartment to be well located, close to Oliva, Denia, Javea and other resorts on the cost situated between Valencia and Benidorm. Good road link from Alicante airport, approx. 1 hour journey mostly motorway.
Apartment situated on Oliva Nova Golf Course complex with small commercial centre with mini supermarket, bars and restaurants. Large hotel at the centre which we found excellent for both midday and evening eating.
All in all nice apartment, large balcony area and with plenty to visit in the area we found it a great choice for our 5 days.
The indoor pool is heated between November & April and has changing rooms and showers.
Oliva town is 7.7km (4miles) from Oliva Nova Golf resort and nestles between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Through its centre runs the Paseig (promenade) which holds a weekly Friday market. The Blue Flag beaches stretch for 7 kilometres and many contain sand dunes. There are many cafés and restaurants which cater for every need from Tapas to a Sunday roast. People may be seen strolling the Paseig, sampling Tapas, drinking coffee or wine and simply relaxing with family and friends.
Oliva has one of the province's biggest and most colourful Moors and Christians Festivals (Festes de Moros i Cristians, in Valencian language) in the area. In the old town there are two churches, Sant Roc and Santa Maria la Major. Sant Roc dates from the 18th-19th centuries, and Santa Maria from the 17th-18th centuries. At the top of the hill in the old town is Santa Anna Castle, built in the 16th century. Oliva's Old Town has historical streets which witness various 'fiestas' celebrated throughout the year.
Close by is Font Salada (4.3km), this is a natural pool fed by the mountain spring. A wonderful safe bathing environment and very popular with the locals as well as the tourists. There is also a fairly good restaurant there. Close by is a hotel of the same name the facilities are open to none residents.
Benidorm (54 km)
Since 2010, in July, Benidorm celebrates an Indie Music festival, with national and international music groups, called 'Benidorm Low Cost Festival'. In 2011, Benidorm hosted the start of the Vuelta a España, one of cycling’s three grand tours. Benidorm boasts four family-oriented theme parks: Terra Mítica and Terra Natura are inland from the city, at the foot of the mountain and Aqualandia and Mundomar are located on the outskirts of the city on the Llevant side. Day passes to the theme parks are usually cheaper if booked in advance.
Denia (20 km)
Dénia is home to a castle located on a rocky crag overlooking the city. It was built in the 11th and 12th century and offers views around the sea, the city and the surrounding area. Within the castle is the Palau del Governador with its museum.
Dénia is also home to the Museu Etnològic with further details on the history and culture of the city.
From the marina ferries to Ibiza and the other Balearic Islands departs daily. The city also serves as the northern terminus for a picturesque metre gauge railway line through the mountains from Alicante (popularly known as the Limón Express), run by FGV. This is not a specific tourist railway; it provides transport throughout and year and is geared to commuter use.
The Bous a la Mar (meaning 'Bulls at the Sea') is held in July. The highlight of this week long festival is watching bulls run down the main street Marqués de Campo, only to be chased into the Mediterranean sea by those daring enough to enter a makeshift bull ring with them.
Festival Dates for Oliva are as follows:

Fallas 19 March - The bonfire festival is celebrated each March. Huge paper mache statues, called Fallas are set up throughout the town, and then set ablaze.
Semana Santa Easter week which has a wonderful parade featuring the 12 Stations of the Cross
