What makes this Apartment unique
No doubt, the best things of my 2 apartments are the unbeatable location and their terraces. It is really something. It gives you happyness when you are there. Choosing the 'GREEN PENTHOUSE BORN' you will enjoy a 360ª panoramic view of Barcelona center and even farther. From there you can see the amazing Sagrada Familia, the Gotic cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar church, Tibidabo montain, Montjuic montain, Twin Towers, Agbar building, etc... THE WHOLE CITY. In both apartments, it's a great plus enjoying the sun during the day or the stars over your head at dinner time . To have breakfast there is the best way to start knowing the city. At the end of the day, there is no better place to rest!! I love to keep it as nice as possible because it really give me happyness. You will not believe how quiet are both terraces at night... making you feel as you where in some little town of the countryside. Choosing 'THE TRAFALGAR PENTHOUSE' you wiil be abble to see how is a tipical 'patio' of a Eixample cuarter. And you will enjoy a lift. jeje

Wonderful place five stories up with a nice terrace overlooking the neighborhood and Barcelona beyond. Yes, 91 stairs to the apartment, but suck it up -- we're 72, stayed 17 days, and it wasn't a problem at all. Especially once up top. Victor and Flor were attentive near as we needed but away when we didn't. Walked the hell out of the El Born and Barri Gotic and Barceloneta -- the place couldn't be more better situated. And the warren of little streets/alley-ways was just engaging as hell. The apartment was all two people needed -- well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. Did our share of cooking (mainly breakfast), bed was comfortable, washing machine was convenient, rooftop was super. Could stayed longer!
Great stay in El Born
We enjoyed the apartment very much during our 6 night stay, it's clean, quiet and well appointed, all the appliances and shower worked well. We loved having a glass of wine on the terrace every evening. The neighborhood is great with shops, metro and restaurants so close by. The Santa Caterina market is just a 3-4 minute walk, fantastic for picking up charcuterie, cheese, wine etc. Flor was so nice and gave us great recommendations for restaurants, she checked in with us several times during the weekvia text to make sure all was well. We highly recommend this property!
Pia and Todd
Victor had a water leak at the property before we arrived and went the extra step to meet us and arrange other nice accommodations until his was fixed. We had a fantastic time in Barcelona!
Nice and clean app in a great neighbourhood.
Stayed in app for 5 nights in August, like the reviews previous the steps are not for the faint hearted 91 in total my kids counted them,a little disappointed with the terrace as we thought it was on the same floor as apartment but is up another two flights of stairs on the next floor and the appartment opposite we're renovating his side and apartment during our stay starting at 08.30 every morning, having said this it was a lovely sun trap and a great place to settle with a drink in the evening,The flat is clean although a little small for four people two sleep on sofa bed,the best thing about it is the location, loads of little streets and squares with loads of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep, I would recommend to anyone else and correspondence with the owners was very good as soon as we booked.
Everything was perfect. Is is small but there are 2 rooms which could each handle 2 people.
The apartment was perfect and had all the amenities we needed. The rooftop deck is the true selling point we spent every night there. The only drawback would be that there is no elevator. It is 5 long flights of steps to get to the apartment and another flight if you want to roof. Again the rooftop was magnificent. I would definitely stay with Victor again.
Ok, Not Fabulous
I would give this place 3 stars, not the 4 or 5 that most do.
On the positive side, I looked at a lot of places and it was less expensive than many. I was traveling with my husband and 2 kids and we needed enough space. It is in a great neighborhood with many locals, a lot of cute local shops and a lot of restaurants. It is very close to the Santa Catarina market, which has a lot of wonderful vendors. We walked to the Picasso museum, the Cathedral and even to La Sagrada Familia. Even though that was a long walk, we really enjoyed it.
For activities further away, it is very close to the metro and taxis are really close and easy to pick up, and clean. The metro is easy to use.
On the down side, the place looks larger and nicer in the pictures than in reality, which is always a risk with Airbnb or vrbo. The biggest problem for us was the shower though. Victor told us there was enough water for 2 people to take a shower, and then we would have to wait 30 minutes. That would’ve been mildly challenging for the 4 of us, but in reality there was really only enough hot water for 1 person to shower without waiting a while. So, it was hard.
Other little issues were: the shower didn’t drain well, there was no top sheet on the bed (which was strange because it was June and warm so we didn’t want to use the heavy comforter), and no soap in the shower. There was a problem with the washing machine failing to drain (so we had to just take our clothes out and wring them out) and it got white stuff all over our clothes (it wasn’t soap, it appeared to be something else). This was a bit of a disappointment since we were traveling light, with kids, and booked a place with a washing machine so we could use it.
Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. Lodging is very expensive in this area, and if you want something nicer, I think you will have to pay more.
Area: Santa Caterina-BORN- Urquinaona subway
The Born area is opposite the Gothic, separated by the Via Laietana, and next to the Barceloneta, a short walk from the main beaches of the city.
Since the 80s the Born has become one of the most artistic and flamboyant city, becoming arguably the most fashionable area of Old Town. The monuments of this district are innumerable - opulent modernism Palau de la Música, the Mercat de Santa Caterina contemporary and gothic splendor of the church of Santa Maria del Mar - and are all within a few minutes walk. Another key attraction of the area is the Picasso Museum exalted. A great advantage is to be located next to the Parc de la Ciutadella, where you can relax so much historic center alleyway. El Born is right in the center of Barcelona and therefore will provide a basis expressive and well placed for exploring the rest of the city.
And among all these places of interest, one will enjoy the narrow streets lost iran will discover lovely shops, squares with terraces, or any corner where you get a great picture. And of course the huge gastronomic offer and bars, where to dine or enjoy a delicious Mojito.
The Born adjoins the Barceloneta old fishermen district and today posedora of the best beaches in the city. A lovely 25-minute walk from my house, across the harbor and this particular neighborhood, will take you to the beach of Barceloneta. Where you can swim from April until almost November. Thanks to the warm climate of our city.
