VisitEngland 4 stars awarded. This pretty cottage is set by a quiet pathway just off the Fore Street in the heart of the popular picturesque fishing village of Beer. Excellent position just a few yards (no roads to cross) from the sea, sheltered beach and bay where you will find local fish for sale, fishing trips, rock pools to explore and a good selection of family beach cafes.

Extremely convenient, all on your door step, for the interesting shops, local inns, variety of restaurants and art galleries. The model railway and quarry caves are close by and the Jurassic Coast Bus stops in the Square, 2 minute walk away, travelling to Exeter in one direction and Lyme Regis and Weymouth in the other.

Stunning coastal walks along the Jurassic Coast to Branscombe and Seaton. 'The Pearl of Dorset', Lyme Regis with the famous Cobb, sandy beach and Langmoor Gardens is only a 15-minute drive.

The Regency town of Sidmouth is also a 15-minute drive away, a little further on to the seaside town of Exmouth.

Lovely position in this quaint village

  • 4 of 5

Situated off the main road in a perfect spot for the beach, shops, pubs and car park.

Well equipped cottage. Having a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and 3 toilets was a bonus. Grandchildren enjoyed having the Wii to play with and there was good internet too. We never had any trouble parking in the car park. The deli over the road was very handy. The anchor inn is a lovely spot to have a drink but sadly we cannot recommend as an eating place. We had a bad experience there and complained so I wouldn’t eat there. There are a few restaurants in beer but you need to book early, particularly for Friday evening. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can recommend the cottage.

Lovely conveniently located cottage in the fabulous village of Beer

  • 5 of 5

Great location just off the high street in Beer village. 5 minutes to the beach , 2 minutes to a local deli for essentials. And best of all lots of local pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably and has the best equipped kitchen I've ever had. Highly recommend a visit.

Property is deceiving from approach as looks so small but is very spacious inside.Nice quiet spot

  • 4 of 5

When we approached the property we were a little disappointed as it looks very small and slightly unkempt from the front. Once inside though it was lovely and spacious. Comfortable beds and reasonably equipped. However, we ended up having to buy a tin opener as the two available did not work. Have left this in house so next occupants don't have same problem. Also could possibly do with a few more saucepans, a colander and cutlery items. Also we couldn't find a hairdryer and a small first aid kit would have been very useful. I would also mention the rugs by the fireplace and front door are a trip hazard as they do not have anti slip mats underneath and they were constantly having to be straightened out.Beer is lovely as long as you don't mind the stony beach. Grandkids had great fun making towers from the stones rather than the usual sand castles but were not able to go for a paddle as they would on a sandy beach. On nice days parking can also be a problem if you can't walk the 650 yards uphill to alternative car park. Overall, a very pleasant stay with Seaton, Sidmouth, the Donkey Sanctuary and Pecorama all just a bus ride or short car journey away. Pecorama has plenty to offer in all weathers to keep kids happy. Will definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback for Seasalt Cottage and we are pleased that overall you and your family enjoyed your stay in the area. We appreciate you buying the tin opener for future guests and we will ensure the owner has the feedback from your other recommendations. The housekeeper located the hairdryer which was in the top bedroom of the cottage. We would be delighted to help you with any future bookings.
