About Jacqueline Heffernan
I reside in the UK with my family but have always enjoyed the Cote D'Azur and in particular the area of Cannes and the Var region. This is why we decided to buy in the area.
Jacqueline Heffernan purchased this Villa in 2000
Why Jacqueline Heffernan chose Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel
The villa has all the practical features for the South of France climate - stone floors, shutters, a private pool, summer kitchen, terraces and stunning views. We chose this traditional provencale style of house for these reasons.
What makes this Villa unique
Secluded enough to be a relaxing retreat, yet conveniently located within an easy walk of everything you need. Having a car broadens your horizons but is not a must due to all the amenities available in the village. I enjoy going into Cannes, Nice, Mougins and the many beautiful villages of the Var.

Lovely home in a lovely village setting
We had chosen Villa Nest as a base for doing some day trips around Cannes. For better or worse we only did one day trip. This was because we enjoyed the house so much we pretty much hung out there. The village has a nice bakery, a couple of restaurants, a pharmacy, wine shop and small grocery within walking distance from the house. Although we went to the large grocery in Montileau a few times one could get by with the grocery in Les Adrets. The house is great for two couples and children . We had 3 in our party so the bedroom situation was ideal. The house is a good value for the money and we very much enjoyed our two week stay. Everyone was very friendly. We also enjoyed the little market days on Wed and Sunday. We would stay at this property again.
Thank you Gerald. I am so glad you and your family enjoyed the villa. We too spend most of our holidays around the pool and enjoying the natural beauty of the Esterel. I hope to welcome you back in the future.
Nice villa with quiet backyard. Village not particularly interesesting.
A very nice place to stay
Jaqueline (the owner) and Justine (the manager) were extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any questions. The house has everything you need and plenty of room. The town is very small but has two good restaurants, and the house is a great location for visiting Cannes, Nice, the coast and Lake Cassien (which is beautiful and a great place for the children; pedalos, kayaking and bouncy water park).
Thank you for your review. We would love to welcome you back again in the future. All the best, Jacqueline
Fabulous location great value
Clean, tidy, comfortable, well equipped, private secluded pool, great village.
Lovely peaceful villa close to the village centre
We loved staying in Villa Le nest. Everything went perfectly. Jacqueline, the owner, responded very quickly and was friendly giving us lots of handy local information. The property manager, Janine, was also really pleasant and helpful. The villa is spacious and yet has a comfortable home-like feel. Even though we dared to holiday in February we managed breakfast and several lunches on the balcony bathed in glorious sunshine. There are loads of opportunities for scenic walks starting from the village and going over the spectacularly beautiful Esterel mountains. My husband loved the good roads for cycling and went for a 80K ride each morning down from les Adrets and along the coast, delighting at the soul-reviving views, the good weather and the number of fellow cyclists around. Of course the hard bit was cycling back up! His efforts were rewarded with wonderful croissants and more from the boulangerie. Out of season ( it was February) the village shops were closed Sunday afternoon and Monday. This was no issue as Janine had warned us about Sunday and on Monday we explored the immense geant casino only 15mins away in Mandelieu which has the most incredible expanse of delicate cakes and pastries I have ever seen. How do French people manage to stay slim? Maybe it's the amazing walks and the cycling!
clean, well equipped and homely
We very much enjoyed our stay in this unusual holiday villa at Les Adrets, a charming small village with very friendly locals. There was everything we could possibly need for our stay, beautiful pool, spacious accommodation. We were welcomed Janine, even though we were much later than anticipated. We would definitely book this holiday villa again.
Les Adrets is a traditional and charming French village. In easy reach are the beaches of the Riviera, St Raphael, Cannes, Frejus. Roman architecture including an amphitheatre and aqueduct are located in Frejus. There are Michelin guide five star rated hiking trails close to the villa which attract visitors from all of Europe. The Verdon Gorge with its breath taking views and climbing is 45minutes by car. Lake St Cassien is five minutes away and is popular for water sports including sailing, pedalo hire, rowing, wind surfing. Cannes is within easy reach (20 mins) for shopping, great selection of restaurants, people watching, Cannes Film Festival in May. St Tropez is also an easy drive and there are beautiful beaches and restaurants. For a special day out Club 55, is a favourite spot. The tourist office in the village of Les Adrets has abundant information about local attractions.
There are three good restaurants near the villa, all within walking distance. Le Relais, Table d'Amanda and Hotel Estirado. The Auberge is 5 mins drive and for a more formal dinner.
The village has a great boulangerie for breakfast pastries, cakes and bread. The hairdresser is good and she has a manicurist. The pharmacy has a selection of quality skincare such as Nuxe and Caudalie and also stock a large range of other cosmetics, orthopaedic footwear, medicines, suncreams etc. The Doctor, who is also the Mayor, is a wonderful character. My children, who are now 12, really enjoy the entertainment in the village square on weekends. It is a fun, relaxed environment for the whole family. Usually there is a theme, moules frites or paella and live music. There are also classical concerts in another square near the Eglise, 10 minutes further along the road. There you can enjoy listening to music from the terrace of a restaurant. For a day of action the children love Aquasplash in Frejus or simply swimming at the beach. Fayence is about a 30 minute drive and has many cultural events and concerts in the modern theatre. Fayence is also home to Le Temp de Cerises (booking usually required). For a whole day out I would recommend the train trip from Nice to Monaco which winds along the coastline. Similar stunning scenery can be seen if you take a drive along the Corniche D'or from Mandelieu to Agay. For those who enjoy the Movies, the Cannes film festival in May is an event.
The villa is available as discounted rates during this time as it is low season so its a great opportunity to stay. It takes around 25 minutes into the centre of Cannes. We love walking along the Croisette and people watching.
