Why Örjan Rinnert chose Menton
The house was a perfect match between downtown living and peaceful location. E.g close to the city center with a stunning mediterranean view.

Beatiful vista from a house on a hill overlooking the sea.
The house is on 3 levels (entry, bedrooms and living/dining area with kitchen) with steep, narrow winding stairs connecting the floors. AC throughout the house.
Nice bedrooms and bathrooms (with washer/dryer) and a balcony off the master with the same beautiful view. Loved the bed linens and comforters, plenty of storage space in the closets including drawers and hanging area.
The kitchen was well equipped and since occupied by the owner much of the year, it was full of homey touches. We did no cooking there, but every type of dish, pan, etc. was available.
The outdoor patio was magnificent. We ate dinner outside at night looking at the sea and the lights below. Just magical!
We left a week early. When we booked the villa we did not realize a car was essential. The stairs down to the town are quite steep and there are many of them, I knew about the stairs from the owner but not the extent of it. I did not see any lights, so not sure how possible once dark, but one trip down a day was enough for my older athletic husband. The way back up was either taxi, or a bus on the road near the campground (15 - 20 minute walk) that did not run frequently. So, buying groceries (no stores within walking distance near house), or going into town for dinner was a challenge. For us, it was better to rent another place in town for the 2nd week than deal with the stairs and lack of transportation. The roads in the area are quite narrow and winding, so we were not comfortable with renting a car. Taught me a lesson on asking more questions about the location of a property.
The owner and his daughter were very responsive as was their next door neighbor, and could not have been nicer. They answered all questions promptly.
We recommend this property, but also would recommend having a car for groceries, visiting other towns and dinner excursions.
The villa made for a perfect stay
The villa is extremely comfortable and has all that anybody could need for a holiday break. The views from the terrace and the main bedroom balcony are stunning, with clear views over the bay to Roquebrune. A small bus climbs the hill regularly, if somewahat infrequently, and stops within a 10 minute walk of the villa. For the more energetic, the steps up from town become less challenging the more times you use them. Just the one word of caution - while the villa is perfect for able-bodied adults, it is not the best fit for either those with restricted mobility, or with young children. Arguably the best thing about the villa, however, is the owner, who is exceptionally well organised and incredibly helpful. You won't be disappointed if you book to stay at the Garden des Oliviers!
Hard to imagine a more wonderful place!
My husband and I had the privilege of staying at Jardins des Oliviers for a six month sabbatical. Everything about the house and Menton was perfect for us. The house is small but beautifully furnished and well-equipped with wifi, a fireplace, high quality appliances, and two full bathrooms and one half bath. The spacious terrasse overlooks the town and the Mediterranean and is the perfect spot for reading and relaxing. The garden is well-maintained and includes many olive trees as well as orange trees, lemon trees, and tropical plants. Menton is blessed with two beaches, a picturesque old town, wonderful markets, and a lively ambience. And if that is not enough, there is an award-winning restaurant (Mirazur), and Italy is just 10 minutes to the east and Monaco 10 minutes to the west. Hard to imagine a more wonderful place!
Perfect stay enjoing the beach and menton
Wonderful sea , a very charming house and the charcteristic city of Menton were the perfect ingredients for an unforgettable holiday.
Felt luxurious. 5 Stars absolutely!
Not only the beautiful views but also the entire house, beautiful furniture, art all very tasteful. Lovely garden and a terrace that we could have stayed the entire day. And just a few minutes to Menton center, restaurants, beaches, and cultural offerings. We will be back!
Thank you for your kind review.
I am happy that you enjoyed your stay. I look forward to see you again.
So wonderful romantic!
The garden, the terrace and the exclusive interior make this a veritable jewel.
We are two adults with children 14 to 16 years, everyone loved Le Jardin des Oliviers. Easy to find by car, just follow the signs for "Camping" and then straight into the garage. The kids went to the beach in less than 10 minutes. And the enchanting views!
We book two weeks next summer!
A lot of cultural activities such as concerts, classical music and jazz, theatre, art exhibitions, street shows, opera performances, flea market, antiques market and food market.
