About Susyn Zabell

We moved to Spain from London when the children were young as we wanted to give them an Enid Blyton upbringing with lots of activity, adventure and fresh air. We welcome you to savour Andalucia in the past, with the sound of the goat herd passing at sunset to the fabulous modern facilites all within a short drive. I am a Body Control Pilates teacher and happy to give private sessions poolside if of interest.

Peaceful, private, lovely host.

Very good, the host was more than welcoming with some lovely touches, even gave us a bottle of lovely bubbly for our birthdays. Lovely house, although very hot in August, but to be expected. We was given extra fans s it was exceptionally hot even for August.

If your looking for private and safe, but within 5 to 10 mins drive of the sea front and main attractions, them this is the place to stay.

Away from the coastal madness but only 10 mins in the car to resorts, shops, and beach.

Wooden house was of a very high quality and had everything you could ever need or want. Very clean and homely. Terrace was excellent for relaxing and enjoying the views. Obviously, the swimming pool was most welcome for cooling off and perfect for our family needs. Last couple of days we made use of ceiling fans and A/C unit and made the hot and sticky temperature bareable....it was July after all and temps of mid 30's was expected.

SAT TV and Wi-Fi great for occupying the kids during the times when too hot or evenings staying home.

Washing machine and dishwasher made it very easy and decent size fridge/freezer and cooker/microwave if you want to cook.

I would recommend the wooden house and Susyns' hospitality if you are looking for a relaxing and "away from it all" break in Spain.

The three dogs were very friendly and well behaved.

Shame about the noisy road close to the property......that's why it got 4 instead of 5 stars.

Fabulous

My husband and I stayed 2 weeks at The Wooden House and it was just lovely. Susyn was very helpful with local information, and the villa was very well equipped and comfortable and very clean. The terrace is private and we sent most of our time there enjoying the view. Susyn's 3 dogs are beautifully trained, giving us a welcome whenever we returned to the house but never once misbehaving. We would recommend this property for anyone who wants peace and quiet with the option of restaurants and bars within a short car journey,

Majestic wooden cabin up in the mountains

My partner and I stayed here with my best friend for 8 days we couldn't fault it , the cabin was amazing, a beautiful kitchen fully equipped, plus a bbq out on the terrace, we used this a lot, the beds were so comfortable it felt like home, there is plenty of storage space for your luggage. The bathroom was large with a great power shower. The living room had a comfy couch and a wood burner that warmed us up when it was a bit chilly.The property is very well maintaned and susyn is on hand to help with any questions we felt so welcomed by her and the dogs. Rambo, silo and torca were very polite. We can't wait to come and stay here again we didn't want to leave the only thing wrong was that we didn't stay here longer.

Susyn was a great host, she provided us with food and made our stay very worthwhile. The house really has a spectecular view and is an ideal spot to visit malaga, the beach, the hills or just to lie in the sun, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and read. FINCA LA FRUTA (REGISTRATION CR/MA/00947) is a idyllic escape located in the rural countryside near Entrerrios with views over roaming hills, avocado plantations and the peaks of Sierra de las Nieves reflected pink at sundown. The area is famous for its country walks, on and off-road cycle routes and endless horsetails, all of which can be easily arranged. The owners live in the 100 year old beamed farmhouse and there are also stables on the 11,000m2 property but no horses at present. Only 15 minutes by car to the pretty beaches of La Cala de Mijas or the busier ambience of Fuengirola, Finca la Fruta is a convenient 25 minute drive west from Malaga airport and 30 minutes from Marbella and popular Puerto Banus. From December to April Sierra Nevada ski slopes are reached in under two hours and offer a exciting day out for all levels of skiers.

Set very separate from the old farmhouse is a charming wooden cottage built of top quality Scandinavian design. It has two twin bedrooms with ceiling fans(one can be adapted to a kingsize bed upon request), spacious American kitchen/diner/lounge with 32 inch smart TV and DVD player, high speed wifi, a log burner and a luxurious modern bathroom. Floorspace of 56m2 and the same expanse of terrace with unspoilt views, Weber BBQ, al fresco dining and 4 sun loungers. The house would suit a family or 2 - 4 adults. The house is well insulated and remains cool in summer and cosy in winter. There is also exclusive use of private gardens with a wooden decking chill-out area with two double hammocks to relax with a good book or simply siesta in the shade. The free-form pool is a pleasure to refresh or swim lengths (10m) and is only shared with the farmhouse. Guests who visit will want to return at every opportunity and many do! Several guests are satisfied repeat customers.

Mountain bikes and table tennis table on site. A great variety of golf courses including Mijas Golf, La Cala Golf and Santana are but 5 minutes away as are excellent floodlit tennis courts. Wonderful treks into the hills from stables just a five minute walk along the riverbed can be arranged or if you prefer water sports why not enjoy a week of kite surfing sessions or visit Marbella Cable Ski which is fun for all the family. There are three very polite dogs on the property. Any other tours, activities or restaurant reservations can be arranged as well as a selection of authentic tapas, local cuisine or barbecue and salads prepared for you to enjoy on your terrace. A daily or weekly maid service is available upon request.

Directions: From Malaga airport head west(signs for Algeciras, Cadiz) on A7 until EXIT 208B to COIN (Mijas Aquapark turn-off). Be careful you remain on the A-7 and AVOID THE TOLLROAD PEAJE AP7 when the motorway divides.Head inland from exit 208B (Coin and Las Lagunas) on A-7053 following signs for Coin until km 7.5 - so this is 7.5km from the exit 208B and there are distance markers on the side of the road. To confuse you they work backwards from km15! You will pass Mijas Golf, St Anthony's College, Big Matt builders merchants then it becomes countryside, heading up a hill. After crossing the wide dry riverbed called Arroyo Seco there is a sign saying La Atalaya/Macorra to the left. Take turn-off to La Atalaya and the entrance is immediately on your left through green electric gates with a sign Finca la Fruta. The actual address is La Atalaya 52, Mijas 29650 which is on google maps.GPS in rental cars is not google based so please use these coordinates:
