A pretty stone-fronted fisherman’s cottage enjoying a unique position; the perfect choice for those who like to while away the hours watching the boats sail by.
Situated in the heart of Flushing village, this three-bedroomed cottage sits in a pretty little terrace of four similar houses arranged around a lawned green and is one of our dog-friendly retreats. As the name suggests, Quay View’s stand-out feature is its location, just across from Flushing’s lovely waterfront; the perfect base from which to watch the comings and goings at the quayside as the boats make their way over to Falmouth harbour.
A traditional fisherman’s cottage, Quay View has been simply yet comfortably furnished to reflect its seaside location, with a décor of whites, blues and natural polished wooden or grey slate floors. Once through the blue painted door of this character house, a tiled lobby leads you to a spacious living/dining room. With its dual aspect windows, this space has a light and airy feel and views across the water towards Falmouth harbour. An open fire with traditional floral tiled surround provides the focal point for a seating area comprising a comfy sofa, two matching armchairs and a TV with DVD player. The dining area boasts a large wooden table with comfortable seating for six and a good amount of storage space.
The galley kitchen at Quay View is a modern space with under-floor heating. The owners have classically decorated this room with white units and grey slate floor and equipped it with dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob. The back door leads you from the kitchen out to a small courtyard, where you also have access to a useful outhouse with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Upstairs, Quay View offers three bedrooms and will sleep five people in total. The master, a double bedroom, is comfortably furnished, with a white chest of drawers and built-in wardrobe providing space for clothes storage. The second bedroom has wooden-framed twin beds and magnificent quayside views from its large window. Again with water views, the third bedroom is a cosy single which has been prettily furnished. A family bathroom with white suite comprising W.C. and bath with overhead shower completes the upstairs accommodation of this charming cottage.
Quay View is a charming dog-friendly property which has been comfortably equipped to provide the ideal base from which to explore the delights of Flushing and its surroundings.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quay View. The booking and arrival process was faultless and the cottage was exactly as described, very clean and well equipped. Flushing is a wonderful village, very friendly with 2 great pubs and yet just a few minutes from Falmouth town centre. All in all a lovely holiday.
We loved the cottage and felt sad to be leaving. We had a great holiday - rockpooling, rolling down sand dunes, crabbing, cream teas etc! Never been to such a friendly village, made Lilly (the dog) very welcome. Thank you
Flushing is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect. It has quiet streets lined with traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community.
Flushing has two friendly pubs, an award-winning restaurant located on the quayside, and a well-stocked general store. It also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it’s own dog-friendly beach.
A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.

A 25% deposit is required to secure bookings. Balances are due 8 weeks before arrival.
Weekly changeover day is Saturday.
An additional charge of £25 per dog per week will be applied where appropriate.
Rental rates include quality bedding and towels, cleaning, heating, WiFi etc.
