The apartment in this mews is called Chez Jay after my son. it is a much loved and luxurious property in a very cool location in Dublin. it is an oasis of calm but when you step outside you are in the centre of everything. It is a wonderful location from which to explore Dublin at day and at night. I bought this mews 19 years ago.it has been recently refurbished and done to a standard of luxury throughout. It is something that one just can't sell as it could not be bought again. The mews is secured behind electric gates. There is a private courtyard in the front. The entrance leads to a loft style living space which includes a Siematic kitchen with Gaggenau appliances. Leading from the living room are two bedrooms and bathrooms which lead out onto a private balcony to the rear. The master bedroom is on the next floor. The master bathroom has a tub, a television and a walk in shower. This bedroom leads to a private deck with an outdoor hot tub and an outdoor shower. It is great to sit in the hot tub late at night and to listen to all the sounds of the city outside. Maybe enjoy a glass of Prosecco after a day's sightseeing as you savor the evening. We are happy to provide you with that as a welcome when you arrive and in case the mood takes you.
If you visit us in the winter, we have great heat and a cozy gas fire to take the chill out of the evening.
There are televisions in all bedrooms with a full package from Sky Tv which includes Sports and Movies. In the living room there is a Bose TV and this includes a sound system suitable for use with an iPod. Fine Italian furniture furnishes the living room. The mews has been recently refurbished it to a very high standard. It is a very special place and is a much loved property. it is only available to rent to families and mature couples. This is a non smoking house but there are plenty of facilities to smoke outside. . While the price may seem high in comparison to other properties, it is reflected in the quality of the furnishings and fit out and location. I would much prefer to rent to a select few than to have it busy all the time.

We have just returned to Australia following our wonderful family trip.
I wanted to get back to you to give you feedback on our experience in Lad Lane – please feel free to use this feedback in any way you wish.
The short feedback is that the entire experience was exceptional. The apartment is stunning – incredible location, beautiful renovated and fitted out to perfection – all completed to the highest standards.
It worked really well for our family of 6. The living area was really comfortable, welcoming and an area one was drawn to. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully fitted out – you should be very proud of what you have accomplished.
Our experience prior to arrival was also excellent. You were easy, clear, efficient and straightforward to deal with. I appreciated that. Thank you for arranging for Paul to have the keys to meet our two oldest children at the airport. He was excellent and could not have been more helpful. It made everything easy.
Mairead, it was a joy to stay in Lad Lane – I will/have certainly let others know what a great place it is and hopefully we can return one day.
Just returned from a 5 day stay at this beautiful apartment. This was our first experience renting on Home Away and we could not have been happier. The owner put such thought and care into the renovation of this historic property outfitted with every modern convenience. The pictures do not do it justice-the furnishings are comfortable and elegant, the bedrooms thoughtfully designed for travelers, and the bathrooms are sleek with high end fixtures. We were able to walk everywhere-the location is ideal for sightseeing but the apartment was quiet and private at night. On Jacqui's recommendation we employed the services of Paul Rochford for airport pick up/drop off as well as a day trip to Wicklow. He was wonderful (always on time and helpful) and it was a comfort to know we could call him if needed. Ate at local Searson's , had great seafood at Matt the Thresher's and watched rugby at O'Donoghue's pub--all a short walk from the apartment. Had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner for 24 people at Forty-one near St Stephen's Green. There were also several local sandwich shops, bakery's, wine shops, and convenience stores to choose from a block either way on Baggot Street Lower. We had several friends and family staying nearby and everyone commented on how nice the apartment was and enjoyed convening here at night for a drink before heading out to dinner. If we are in Dublin again I would not hesitate to book with Mairead & Jacqui--Chez Jay 1 is an ideal "home away" from home.
From start to end, this was a first class experience. Professionally managed, wonderfully decorated, well situated in Dublin and immaculately clean. Will definitely return.
The property is centrally located and in easy walking distance to the main attractions. Even though it is in the center city, it is very quiet and calm. The house has every amenity and is finished yo a very high style. It was clean and very well maintained. All interactions with the owner and management staff were very courteous and helpful. Paul, the driver to and from the airport, was a special gem.
The apartment was very comfortable for the 6 of us traveling together. It is just as the pictures portrayed. Close enough to Molly Malone to meet our tours and explore shopping and restaurants. Paul was a great help. It has all been said before in the reviews already. We had a wonderful stay.
Our family of 5 stayed at Chez Jay 1 and it was absolutely perfect! A beautiful apartment with luxurious, comfortable, clean accommodations. Perfect for our family to hang out together in the kitchen/living room in the evenings, but also have 3 bedrooms with their own tvs. The rooftop hot tub was amazing! The location was great and felt very safe. So easy to walk to St. Stephen's Green and Grafton Street areas, plus catching public transportation. We walked about 15 minutes to the Grand Canal Dock DART station to spend a day in Howth. Plenty of excellent restaurants within walking distance. (Matt the Thresher was great for fresh fish, seafood, really enjoyed Searsons, and Viole was so good for breakfast.) The customer service was excellent and Jacqui quickly replied to any questions we had. The contact for a personal driver, Paul, was extremely helpful. He transported us to/from the airport and we also hired him for a day tour to Glendalough/Powerscourt. He was a delight and so helpful/knowledgeable about Dublin and Ireland. Can't thank him enough! Mairead, we are sorry we did not get a chance to meet you but thank you for opening up your beautiful home. We would highly recommend this home and would definitely come back again!
Thoroughly first class from start to finish of our Dublin visit! Chez Jay is a beautiful and luxurious home from home. Eight of us stayed, occupying both apartments, so having a lovely bathroom for each bedroom meant that 4 couples had 5 star hotel standard bedrooms with the bonus of being 'family' in a wonderful private apartment.
Location wise the property couldn't be better and whilst offering tranquility from the city's 'fun', most of Dublin's main attractions are within walking distance.
Service, from the moment I made contact with the owner, was superbly efficient and the recommendations given just first class. Paul, the owner's nominated 'meet and greet' driver, is simply excellent - a must for all Chez Jay clients!

This mews building is set in the heart of Georgian Dublin. There are two apartments in this building. Chez Jay 1 has 3 bedrooms and is located upstairs. Chez Jay 2 has 2 bedrooms and is located on the ground floor. It was built in 1792 and was originally the stables of one of the great houses in Fitzwilliam Square. It is within short walking distance of great restaurants, pubs, the Shelbourne and the Merrion Hotels and Grafton Street. It is very close to the National Art Gallery and Government buildings. Ireland’s finest Michelin star restaurants are all within easy walking distance. While the area is quiet, there is a real sense of being in the centre of everything. There are lovely walks along the canal and in the parks of Merrion Square and St Stephens Green.
