Second stay and just as good!
This property is spacious, clean and well equipped. This was our second stay here and I would recommend it to anyone!
Great location for walking to restaurants and beaches.
Thank you very much for you kind words
Wonderful spacious villa in excellent location
I would thoroughly recommend this villa . We stayed with our family of 3 teenage girls . It is very spacious and well equipped . It was very clean on arrival . It is set up for eating outside and lying by the pool . It is well located in the town close to the beach and shops . Our girls spend their time in surf school and had a fantastic weeks holiday . We would definitely book the house again .
Thank you for your comments, much appreciated!
Great location in sleepy Sagres...
The villa is very spacious, larger than it looks on the pictures. The small pool a welcome addition and we enjoyed the use of the small coal BBQ at nights.
The villa is not advertised with air con, there is a unit in the main living room which works but there is no remote control so stays on at 22 degrees, during our stay it was particularly hot, there are no fans and it was extremely difficult trying to sleep in the boiling hot bedrooms. We asked if fans could be provided and this was declined, we felt this pretty poor customer service given the cost of stay and would have hoped the owners or agents would have wanted to help make our stay more comfortable. They suggested leaving door shutters down but vents open which made no difference, if you leave doors open you are plagued by mosquitoes, needless to say we were covered in pesky bites even wearing high strength repellent.
The kitchen needs some appliance updating, the toaster didn't work, the plinth in the kitchen is loose and kept dropping on our feet- painful, there is only a broken wooden chopping board, only one large blunt knife, only two large coffee cups, no ice cube trays.
There is literally nothing in the kitchen in terms of basic supplies, I appreciate this is self catering but usually as a welcome pack you at least get a bottle of water in the fridge. There is not so much as salt and pepper, you generally find some store cupboard basics in rentals but here there is nothing, be mindful of this if you arrive late at night as we did.
The maid service is non existent, we had our towels replaced once, the bedding was the same throughout the stay. We had to get the plumbers out during our stay as the ensuite toilet flush was broken.
The villa is close to the beaches and the few restaurants in Sagres, Sagres itself is a strange place, seems like they were gearing for a boom which never came and the place has been left to decay, the money ran out. There is very little to do there apart from the beachs, we went for surf and had to travel to find it. There are a few restaurants but no bars to just chill and drink. It is most definitely not touristy and lots of places are closed down, boarded up and covered in graffiti.
We had a day trip to Lagos and this would be where we would go back to next time.
We fail to understand why the guest openly admits that the property is not advertised with air con then goes on to make an issue that the non-existent air con isn’t working correctly.
If the guests had reported any of the other issues to us at the time, such as the toaster not working, we would have seen that this was replaced but it is difficult after the event to put these issues right.
The cleaning offered is standard for a stay of 7 nights with a towel change mid-week – this is no less than anyone else offering self-catering holiday’s.
There is no mention of the fact we offered this guest a late check-out at no extra cost…
Despite all of these issues the guests still rated it 4 out of 5 stars, so we can only assume that they didn’t impede much on their enjoyment of their holiday.
All we can take from this review is that the guests chose the wrong resort for their holiday. Sagres is a lovely “once upon a time” important fishing village steeped in quite a bit of nautical history dating back from the Discoveries of Portugal, but admittedly not for everyone.
Lovely villa, nice area and super beach
Just returned from one week in this lovely villa. Our group was 3 adults (65,62, and 33) and two children (7 and 4) and the villa was perfect accommodation. Villa was well equipped, very clean and more spacious than photos indicate and close to all amenities, supermarket, restaurants beach etc. Outside space is good and nice pool (although quite small and no shallow end) Car is recommended but lots within walking distance. Marieta beach was fabulous. We are not normally beach people but this was huge sandy bay, very few people and nice cafe right on the beach. Kids loved making sand castles, swimming and collecting shells.
Spacious, well maintained and in a very quiet location
We had a very relaxing, trouble-free holiday. Property and location were just what we were looking for. We would recommend this property for anyone staying in Sagres!
Great space for my family of four, we actually could have fitted another family in. Great location.
We were in the middle of everything, shops, beach, cafes, bike hire, tuk tuck hire.
Clean house, maid came mid week, would have been better if we had two visits from the maid. Fully furnished and equipped house.
It's a shame the weather wasn't hot enough to warm up the pool, if it was warm the kids would have definitely used it.
