This is an exclusive quiet neighbourhood with elegant Victorian terraces, close to Kensington Palace and Gardens at the west end of Hyde Park. The house is in a secluded mews close to Kensington Church Street, with its many dealers in fine antiques and the famous Churchill pub close by. A few minutes away is the Notting Hill area with good restaurants, traditional pubs and great shopping choices, as well as the famous Portobello Road antique market. Easy bus and tube connections to Knightsbridge, the West End and most other parts of this great city.

A mews is a unique feature of the historic residential areas of London, a lane of smaller buildings that runs along the back of a grand terrace, originally designed to house coaches and horses and those who looked after them. Many mews houses have been converted into delightful homes that benefit from being off the main streets but still in the heart of an exclusive neighbourhood. In this one the ground floor has become a bright and inviting living/dining room with good lighting and windows front and back, in soft colours with interesting fabrics and some exotic touches. Inviting twin sofas face the working fireplace and beyond is the dining area with a glass topped table for four and a wonderfully curly side table in front of the tall windows. There is an LCD TV with a selection of virgin cable channels with a pay-to-view facility. Broadband Internet is provided.
The streamlined kitchen has been cleverly organised to give maximum workspace and includes an electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The washing machine is in a cupboard under the stairs.
Two comfortable and quiet bedrooms, both on the upper floor. The large master bedroom has a brass double bed and good built-in cupboards, while the smaller bedroom at the rear of the house has a good sized double bed and a chest of drawers.
The brand new bathroom, tiled in natural stone, has a stylish double wash basin, a full sized tub with wall attached shower and a loo.

We are a family of 4 which includes 2 adult children ages 21 and 23. We arrived in London after 5 days in Paris where we also stayed at an apartment. The Edge Street apartment in London was a wonderful place to come home to after a long day of walking, shopping and sightseeing. The apartment was very close (like step-out-your door-around-the-corner close) to the tube, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, markets, Kensington Palace, and Portobello Road and in a little street that was quiet and quaint. We pride ourselves in being "travelers not tourists" so living amongst the locals allowed us to really get immersed in the London culture. We loved watching the children in their little uniforms walking with their mums and dads to the school at the end of our street in the morning...taking the tube with the rest of London's commuters...enjoying the neighborhood pubs with the locals. The apartment was well appointed and clean (we had one issue upon our arrival with the kitchen counter and dead gnats in the living room window, but this was easily remedied, and the rest of the flat was immaculate). We took this flat on Faith that what we would get is what we saw on the internet, and we were glad we did. From beginning to end, HFH did an excellent job in assisting us with our housing and travel plans, and their quick response to any of our concerns or questions did much to boost our confidence. Transportation from the train station and to the airport was well organized by Home From Home management and made our visit to London so easy. We received our security deposit in a very timely manner. We were sad to leave and look forward to coming back!

We were looking for a nice place for a family holiday and this property was perfect. The property was close to the park which was great for walking and space for the kids to enjoy. Getting into the city to experience the rest of London was very easy. Also being able to enjoy the evenings as a family made the trip a very enjoyable family holiday.
