Contemporary air conditioned apartment, with spectacular views and a back drop of mountains.
This was our first visit to Corsica and as the early morning ferry sailed into Bastia the port side properties of differing colours were lit by the morning sunshine.
We followed the twisting coastal road from Bastia to Calvi, passing beautiful bays with blue water and sandy beaches, the journey took about 1.5 hours.
The one bed spacious apartment is in a small private complex, overlooking lush tropical gardens full of of colourful bushes and cacti.
The terrace is well furnished and was our favourite place to drink our first coffee of the day whilst enjoying the ever changing view of Calvi Bay and the Mariner.
The apartment is well furnished and maintained and fully equipped with high-end kitchen ware and electrical goods including Wi-Fi.
All amenities were within walking distance including a patisserie that offered fresh cakes and bread from 8am until 8pm.
Our favourite place to eat was at the Nautic restaurant situated in the Mariner, where succulent Moules were served in a rich garlic cream sauce . We visited many coves all good for snorkelling and sunbathing but our favourite was at Algajola, 15 minutes from Calvi, with easy parking and a choice of a dozen restaurants, offering ice creams, coffee, drinks and a variety of menus and plat du jour.
Our host Imogen provided excellent customer service and support pre our arrival and a bottle of wine, confiture and croissants to welcome us. Thank you Imogen for providing a beautiful apartment and making us so welcome, we will not hesitate to recommend, your apartment, Calvi and Corsica to our friends.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday in Calvi and look forward to welcoming you back.
Calvi is a cosmopolitan village by the sea that is surrounded by mountains with the added beauty of the magnificent Calvi beach and citadel – a playground in itself. Holiday makers love Calvi – as much for its front door access to the Mediterranean and rugged mountains – as its heady blend of boutiques, shopping and recreation activities. Water sports, day spas and any number of day tours provide ample things to do – or simply sit back, relax and soak up the sun – it’s yours for the taking.
While in Calvi, most social activity will take place at Quai Landry. This is a beach-side walkway, which connects the port to the marina, and offers restaurants, bars, cafés, side shops, and hotels.
