Hogmanay in Edinburgh
The flat is the perfect place to explore Edinburgh from. It's big, bright and as described. Close to tourist attractions, restaurants, everything is super walkable from the flat
Val as a host was super communicative, and everything was very very easy.
It made for a truly perfect NYE experience in Edinburgh.
A perfect stay in Edinburgh
Nothing could be finer than spending a week in 35 Castle Terrace, Edinburgh. My wife and I loved it from the moment we entered till the time we had to regretfully leave. No criticisms at all - only praise! The entire flat was spotlessly clean. The beds were particularly comfortable. It was always quiet -at all times. It’s accessibility to the street made coming and going easy and the neighborhood is ideal - central to everything we wanted to visit. Great restaurants nearby - including a gourmet one right below us. We’d worried that there might be restaurant smells from it, but that never occurred. Val was particularly communicative and helpful. The flat is marvelously appointed: spacious rooms, tall windows that let in light, yet have good working shutters to block it out when needed, great kitchen, dining room, and two excellent bathrooms! What more could anyone want?
We just returned from a wonderful vacation to the beautiful land of Scotland and we rented this adorable flat. There were 5 adults in our group and we had plenty of room. It sits in the shadow of the Edinburgh castle and it is convenient to everything in the city, including shops, bakeries, pubs, and a small grocer. We were in contact with both the owner and the property manager and both responded to inquiries immediately. When we return to Scotland, we will definitely reserve this flat.
Excellent property in a perfect location, the owner Val and property manager Ashley answered all questions and responded immediately when contacted.
Well set up flat with everything one needs for a stay.
The only negatives are ,, it does not have an electric dryer and has a hanging drying rack in the kitchen, so it took a little planning to get laundry done.
And the other tenants allowed the front door to the buiding slam quite a bit, and the noise from the road took a little getting use too. But over all a great stay and welll situated in old town.
Castle Terrace is a luxurious apartment in the heart of Edinburgh.
This attractive property is located in the historic Old Town district at the foot of Edinburgh Castle. Steeped in some of Edinburgh’s greatest history. The Grassmarket is only minutes walk away from the apartment and to the popular Royal Mile. The apartment is conveniently located for Lothian Road which has a wide and varied range of amenities including shops, restaurants, bars and bistros. Stroll along the old George IV Bridge, where you’ll meet the famous Greyfriars Bobby, before walking through some of Edinburgh’s oldest and most photographed streets including Candlemaker Row, Victoria Street, West Port and our famous view of the great Edinburgh Castle. A vibrant and popular meeting place for visitors and locals alike, you can soak up the medieval atmosphere and enjoy its splendid views of the nearby castle. The area is well served by buses, the new City tram service and an express bus runs from Waverley Station to Edinburgh International Airport. The railways stations of Waverley and Haymarket
This incredibly beautiful city is easy to explore on foot. Princes Street, The Royal Mile and the lively Grassmarket are a few minutes walk away. For outlying attractions (The Royal Yacht Britannia, The Botanic Gardens, Dynamic Earth etc) the hop on hop off tourist bus stops a few metres away. Every Saturday there is a farmers' in Castle Terrace. This will satisfy anyone wishing to taste Scottish fare with porridge, croissants, bacon and Angus beef burgers and cheese to sample. If more serious self catering is on the agenda you will find Scottish cheeses, venison, fresh fish and seafood, smoked salmon and haddock, Aberdeen Angus Beef, lamb and mutton.
The nearby restaurants and bars are too numerous to mention and will suit every taste and pocket.. The Castle Terrace Michelin starred restaurant is just next door, the Usher Hall and theatres just behind the apartment. Despite their close vicinity you will get a good night's sleep as the location of the apartment is not on a main thoroughfare for traffic or revellers.
