This is a large , private villa, with contemporary furnishings in neutral tones and with a stylish and beautifully calm atmosphere throughout.
Situated on the far edge of the village with a 180˚ direct south facing terrace and pool , and being particularly great is whilst it is on the edge of a village, as it is not overlooked and is private.
The detached contemporary two storey Villa is centred around a magnificent large staircase and grand Salon style Sitting-room. This unique three bedroomed property affords the very best uninterrupted view in Nata from its prominent hillside position, offering seclusion in which to sunbathe and with an epic 180˚ panorama over the valley with the Swimming pool in full sun all day.
Access is only through the front lockable Courtyard making this property particularly suitable for au-natural sunbathing as many guests testify in their comments. This Courtyard , arranged with plants and succulents, has tables and chairs in which to enjoy lunch out of the sun and links the property's ground floor areas.
Having the Master En-suite Bedroom located on its own upstairs, a Twin En-suite Studio Bedroom in the old Stone part of the building and the Double En-suite Bedroom located with direct access to the pool, Villa Marona happily offers individual discrete accommodation meaning groups need not feel they are on top of each other during their holiday.
This property is first and foremost my home and it's style and suitability is for the person who really wants to escape to a private house away from the mass tourism that has now overwhelmed Cyprus. Marona is unsuitable for families with children under eight years.
This is suited to the guest who does not crave the need for clubs and the , instead those who want a haven and a place of tranquillity for their own when they stay. Villa Marona has free Wifi and Internet TV offering most English speaking channels.
This is a place for reading , eating , playing music, enjoying the view, Swimming and relaxing.
The Villa is close to Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills golf and leisure complex, with their beautiful golf courses, bars and restaurants.
The Villa was taken off the rental market in 2011 /12 ( hence the gap in the reviews) whilst we rebuilt the old stone Studio and converted the room into the Studio Bedroom Ensuite and family and friends have been enjoying it since. We are not able to use it fully this year so it is back on the Rental Market and we look forward to having people staying at Villa Marona again.
Nata is perfectly placed just a short drive away from excellent beaches, ( http://www.cyprus-beach-guide.co.uk/paphos/beaches.html), typical Cypriot villages such as Mandria and Pissouri , with their dozens of friendly and varied restaurants and the local tourist attractions such as Petra Tou Romiou. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petra_tou ) ,making Villa Marona a wonderful location for families, romantic getaways and long lazy holidays.
15 minutes drive away is lively Paphos, with its harbour, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Jonathon Coleman purchased this villa in 2004
Villa Marona is a unique property which combines a luxurious environment, individual contemporary furnishings and an incredible sense of space. The incredible view over the valley is breathtaking and creates a calm environment, a sense of being alone in a busy world and affords guests the privacy that being in an estate rental just does not .
The privacy of the villa and the unique quality of the space. The feeling of calm that exists. The elevation of the property over the surrounding valley . This house is for those people who want to experience the extraordinary sense of the 'real' Cyprus and its hills, valleys and the ancient village life of Nata.
Villa Marona is the perfect place to unwind and relax in.
It is a very beautiful house and we felt very much at home there. The description of the villa hardly does it justice, we were frankly astonished by the high standard of every aspect of the house. The exquisite decor, well equipped kitchen and extremely comfortable bed and sofas all contributed to a delightful respite from our work and the information pack we received before our stay was crammed with useful information. We also loved the fantastic artwork that adorns the house.
We would recommend this villa to anyone who wants a luxurious base from which to explore Cyprus.
This was our fourth stay at Marona, so that tells you we love it. The owner, Jonathan, shares his home with you and it is truly beautiful.
Only 20 minutes from Paphos airport, nestled in hills it has wonderful views of countryside but remains very private.
Exceptionally well equipped, clean and impressive layout, you will want for nothing during your stay. If you do, its a phone call away.
Looking for resturants etc is no problem, check out Jonathons impressive library of info in kitchen. All places we tried were very good, especially liked Periklis Tavern (5 mins) especially Sunday Meze. Great food, great company. Costa's on way to Paphos (20mins) and Gabriels at Kooklia (30mins). The Kolios Winery is well worth a visit for their tour and wine tasting and Meze. Wonderful wine!!!!
Its great to eat out, you will not be disappointed but its great to eat in as well. Barby, or cook and its lovely to sit on terrace and take in the wonderful views.
A car is a must, so easy to get places and on our side of road. Wonderful visit to Troodos Mountains, Pissouri. Paphos, especially harbour area.
Great beaches and sea is so warm. Latchi Beach is good. Coral Bay, quite busy but nice sandy beach.
We would have no hesitation to recommend this wonderful villa.
Look forward to our next visit.
What a wonderful holiday home!
A marvellous tastefully furnished little piece of paradise. Enjoy the seclusion and the beautiful views of the surrounding hills. There is no overview which makes the occasional "skinny dip" a must!
Or just sit in the lovely shaded area of the veranda and watch the swallows as they swoop the pool to take a drink.
Just a few minutes drive down the hillside takes you to the lovely village of Anarita with its great little tavernas to while away a dreamy summer evening. To say villa Marona is a gem would be an understatement. With everything you need for the perfect romantic break,We can't wait to go back!
Many thanks Jonathon ( owner)

Of all the villas we have stayed in this has to be the best, without a doubt, so far! We wanted privacy and we got exactly that.
Our 'normal' day to day lives are extremley hectic, long hours and we have little time with each other, therefore we wanted seclusion and privacy to bathe in each others company.
We wanted to be 'au-natural', which is not something we would ever do in a public place, and that is exactly what we got. We wanted the freedom to walk around 'au natural' in and outdoors within the seclusion of a villa and that is exactly what we experienced; yes there are some properties out the back of the villa in the valley but they would need an extremley large ladder, binoculars or extreme length camera lenses to be able to 'see' you walk round the pool let alone sat out the back of the property by the pool or on the patio!
The kitchen has everything and more you will need to enjoy meals at the villa and on a couple of occasions that's what we did; romantic meals out on the patio as the sun went down, perfect. On those occasions I couldn't be bothered to cook we went out, and there are so many great places to eat and with Paphos only 15 minutes drive away I cannot think of a better location for a secluded villa.
Now for a few tips:
+Rent a car
+Take an iPod/MP3 player and a jack lead (the type that fit into the headphone socket of the iPod/MP3 player - male at both ends) to connect to the stereo system that is there; it was great to chill during the day with music in the background and great on our Romantic evenings on the patio/by the pool
Do take water with you if you're planning to visit any of the ruins on the island, in fact if you plan to do any sightseeing (unless very close to cafes) - it gets extremley hot and if you've not got water/drink you will regret it.
Don't worry about being 'seen' whilst at the villa, trust us when we say you have nothing to worry about
Jonathon is a great fella who will answer any questions you have; his freinds, Yvonne and Nigel, who look after the property are fantastic and you know when they will be round to clean the pool/change the beds etc so no worries about being disturbed by suprise - if you are worried about it, lock the main front door and leave the key in, they will ring the door bell and wait for you
We hope you have as fantastic time as we did. If we ever go back to Cyprus (we like to visit new places all the time) this is definatley the villa we will be staying at
My wife and I have just returned from two weeks in "Marona". If you want quality accomodation in a very quiet village and experience the old cypriot way of life this is the place. If you want discos, bars, noise and lots of holidaymakers it is not the choice for you. We have been going to Cyprus for over 20 years and have stayed in many of the luxury hotels. We were about to give up on Cyprus as a holiday destination until we discovered house rentals. From the moment we booked this house we were realised that the owner regards it more than a rental property. The local people Jonathon uses for cleaning etc, (who are English) are very good and available should you require any information or assistance. Although remote it is not too far from Paphos airport, and only a short drive to some local tavernas. For shopping there are large supermarkets in Paphos and one in Pissouri which can be reached in 25 minutes. Every morning after breakfast we drove to Aphrodite Hills to collect our "Times" and have a coffee at Costa. My wife sketches and paints and found some wonderful views and old village ruins. The villa is extremely well equipped. We ate out but also made several meals and the kitchen has all you need. There is no TV but a great selection of DVD's. After our evening meal we enjoyed our wine and a film before retireing to the silence of the village.Beware the village cockrel will ensure you do not sleep in!.There are a couple of places in the village you can have a drink and one does food. The locals were fiendly and did not seem to care as long as you accepted their village and their way of life was not going to change for you and that suited us fine. You can see the villa on the web site and what you see is very accurate, although Jonathan has updated some of the furniture. We did not use the pool but it is cleaned twice a week, and the balcony and the views are good for eating outside, sunbathing, reading or just nodding off. We would endevour to use the villa again when we visit that area. I am sure that because of what it is, and where it is, it will eventually have a regular set a clients who will look forward to visting and like Jonathan regard the place as more than a rental. I am sure we will return.
We have rented numerous villas and Villa Marona is up there with the best!
We stayed there mid October and the temperature was still in the 30’s, with pleasant cooler evenings. Nata village is small and peaceful but Papos Town is only a 20 minute drive away. I would say a car is a necessity and that the villa and location probably not suitable for families with small children. The villa is definitely not overlooked and the view from the terrace is fabulous.
The villa was well equipped and superbly comfortable. We had no reason to contact the local agent as everything worked fine and the instructions left were all self explanatory.
Jonathon made the whole holiday from booking onwards ‘hassle free’!
We visited several of the restaurants recommended by Jonathon and were not disappointed. Our favourite was a meal at the simple Melanda beach restaurant near Pissouri. Simply the best fish in a super location – somewhat remote but well worth finding.
This may well be the first villa that we return to!
Extremely old rural inland village, typically with an 'old' Cyprus feel with views of the Mediterranean and Troodos Mountains., quiet and calm. Far from crowds and the hotels and coaches. A haven away from Paphos and the Tombs / Latchi area where it is now very over crowded and touristy.
A drive up from the coast above the Humidity level where the sun seems brighter and there is a gentle warm air flow to keep you cool.
Panoramic views of a spectacular 'Luna-landscape' valley and down to the Xeros river which flows into the Reservoir. Green in the spring with wild flowers and barren and dry in the Summer. Small groups of Goats and Sheep are herded across the valley each day by local Shepherds as they have been for centuries.
