Lovely large house suitable for up to 8 people with wonderful mountain views

Tranquil Connemara village surroundings in modern comfort

Sleeps 8, with 4 bedrooms: 2 triples en-suite (+ a cot where required) + 2 singles with adjacent private bathroom.

Large light and elegant living room with tv , dvd's & traditional stove.

Well equipped family kitchen with dishwasher, micro, gas cooker etc;

4th bathroom and utility room (with washing machine, drying machine)

NB: The house has wheelchair access and both sleeping and bathroom facilities on the ground floor.

The perfect location for fishing in Lough Corrib and Lough Mask, walking, cycling, exploring the countryside, hill walking, & sailing on the loughs, A great base to visit Cong and the Quiet Man, Cong Abbey, Ashford House and grounds, Maam Valley, Kylemore, the coast of Connemara as well as the mountains, rivers, lakes and valleys.

The cult 70’s film 'Un taxi mauve' ( a Purple Taxi ) with Charlotte Rampling, Fred Astaire, Peter Ustinov, Philippe Noiret, Agostina Belli & produced by Yves Boisset was filmed in the vicinity of Cornamona and surrounding villages and hills. The film is about a group of emotionally troubled expatriates living in a self-imposed exile in a small village (Eyeries) in Ireland during a time in which the nation announced it would no longer demand income taxes of artists, bringing a steady stream of creative bohemians to the Emerald Isle. It has long been known for it's stunning Irish scenery - most of which is almost on your doorstep when you stay in Tí Áine.

About Aine

Like many people with a holiday home in Connemara, though Irish by blood I was born in the UK. Though my work means I cannot live here, I do love to visit as often as I can and so do my friends.

Why Aine chose Ireland

My family come from this region of Ireland and though I do not live here, it is wonderful to have such a beautiful house to visit when I get a chance. The air of peace and the lovely country views make it very special...not to mention the great access to the best fishing lakes in Ireland.

What makes this house unique

This must be one of the most comfortable houses around with its 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, wheelchair access and stunning views. The peat stove is an added touch of tradition among the modern home-comforts. The Views of the hills and the private garden make it ideal to throw away the cares of daily life and really relax!

My self husband and four children stayed at this gorgeous house last week. I could not recommended TI Aine enough to ever 1. It really was home for home my children had the best time with the big open space in the garden and the house was spotless. Everything you could think off was there for your use. I know for sure I can't wait to get back again to Ti Aine thanks for having us ☺

We had the pleasure of spending four weeks at Ti Aine this summer. The house is located in a stunning part of Galway, in a small village with a friendly pub, shop and great playground. The house and garden were surprisingly large, and provided plenty of room for ourselves and our family. The house was extremely comfortable, well equipped with everything you might need, and pleasantly decorated. The owner and managers were very friendly to work with. Thank you for the great stay!

Fantastic cottage!

We (2 adults, 3 teenagers) have enjoyed our three weeks stay in this spacious, lovely, clean cottage! It was very well equipped. A warm welcome by our host. Location of the cottage was good. Peaceful and quiet. Driving through Connemara is stunning. The lakes, the views!!! We would love to visit again.

Situated at the centre of the Joyce Country Mountain and Lake Districts, Cornamona is renowned as one of the most scenic areas of Ireland. To the east you will find both Lough Corrib & Lough Mask while a car journey of less than an hour will take you north to the coastal town of Westport , West to Clifden , Ballyconneely & Roundstone or South to Spiddal , Furbo & Galway (Salthill) .

Carrick West is located, on the edge of the village of Cornamona in Co. Galway which itself is located on the northern shore of the famous Lough Corrib. Cornamona is a popular site among trout and salmon anglers & it is located in one of the most scenic areas of Ireland . Although located in a Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) region, the locals will be happy to speak to you in English .

Tí Áine is within easy walking distance of of our local pub ( O'Malley's ) , shop, post office & children's play ground . Cornamona village is just a short walk away and boasts a children’s playground and a pitch and putt course. Walkers & hikers have the perfect opportunity to enjoy an invigorating hike from just outside their front door . Walking & hiking here provides breathtaking views of Lough Corrib to the South & Lough Mask to the North as well as the Twelve Pins mountains away to the West.

Nearby you will find the towns of Clonbur, Cong and Ballinrobe which are all worth visiting if time allows . In Cong there is an opportunity to visit the impressive Ashford Castle which for many years has been a popular place to visit by tourists from all around the world . Cong is also famous as the location for ‘The Quiet Man’ movie . Oughterard, on the shores of Lough Corrib, is a lovely historic village, with its traditional stone fronts and a 16th century castle . It is a world-renowned fishing spot. The fresh water trout and salmon bring fishermen from all over the world to try their luck. It also has an excellent 18 hole Championship Golf Course . So whether you are seeking relaxation , fishing , golf or just a comfortable base to explore more of Connemara and beyond Tí Áine is ideally located.
