This pleasant and cozy villa melts into the scenery of the Unesco protected Roman bridge “Pont du Gard” and its surroundings of “garrigue” landscape - typical Southern French vegetation made of bushes, small oaks, and odorant plants such as thyme and lavenders. Our villa and the neighboring villas form an architectural ensemble, which was classified "Patrimoine du XXXième" by *the Direction régionale des affaires culturelles", the administration in charge of the French architectural heritage on 18 December 2015. This architectural work was signed by Joseph Massota who also designed, among many constructions in the region, the church of Notre-Dame-du-Suffrage-et-Saint-Dominique in Nîmes.

The villa's pleasant atmosphere is created by its unique architecture of many curves in the sleeping quarters and a large living room (about 50 sq meters) as well as a large terrace (about 50 sq meters) overlooking the Pont du Gard. It is modern and ancient in the same time.

On the property, you can enjoy a peaceful time on the sunny terrace, with is magnificent view on the Pont du Gard. It you feel like cooling down, you can just walk down a picturesque path to plunge in the pool in the middle of the garrigue. The pool is shared between three houses. It is big (4x15m) and there are few swimmers. You do not have to worry about your tranquillity.

The property is located near the medieval village of Castillon-du-Gard to which you can walk and buy your daily fresh baguette for your breakfast or enjoy an exclusive meal at the gastronomic restaurant of the four-star Hotel 'Le Vieux Castillon'. You also have convenience stores in the village.

This villa is also pleasant in the off-season period when the pool is not in function anymore. The pool beeing situated at the edge of the property, it is not visible from the terrace but the Pont du Gard is still there! Also the house has a central heating and the fireplace offers a very nice ambiance. In most of the off season, even over the end of year holiday season, the mediteranean climate make it possible to enjoy the sunny terrace.

This property has a magnificent view on the Pont du Gard and is located in the middle of the garrigue. It is very quiet. It smells aromatic herbs and you can hear cigales' concerts. I appreciate the proximity of Uzès and Avignon, which offer a lot of activities.

What makes this villa unique

The villa has a pleasant and cosy atmosphere, characterised by many curves and melting in its surroundings. It is modern and ancient in the same time. It was designed by the architect Joseph Massota who is the author of many constructions in the region.

Maison de vacances très agréable, confortable, calme, superbe jardin de garrigue , grande piscine, et vue exceptionnelle sur le Pont du Gard. La maison est tout à fait conforme au descriptif.

Propriétaire extrêmement sympathique. De plus réactive et efficace alors que nous avons eu un souci de plomberie lors de notre séjour.

Le village de Castillon du Gard a beaucoup de charme, commerces et cafés sur place, est à seulement quelques minutes à pied de la maison.

Bref, une location idéale pour les vacances.

You can explore further by swimming or kayaking under the Pont du Gard, shopping on the famous artisanal Uzès's Saturday and Wednesday markets (especially look for the delicious goat cheeses), visiting the Roman monuments in Nîmes and Orange, visiting the Pope Palace in Avignon. Also, during the summer, the area offers many cultural festivals such as the theatre festival in Avignon, the opera festival in Orange, and the classical music festival in Uzès.
