Loved the property, not the owner!
Property is wonderful, very happy with our stay. However, it needs more clarity. On the advert it says that linen is provided. Then somewhere else it states we have to pay for linen. Therefore, not provided! Also, we paid a €500 deposit when booking the place (absolutely fine) but then we had to give another €60 cash directly to the owner as a cleaning deposit. At the end of the stay she inspected the house, and complained it wasn’t clean enough. She said the freezer was dirty, and we hadn’t even used it!! It was spotless. She complained we hadn’t cleaned the floors. I tried to explain in my very broken French that her sweeping brush was awful and you couldn’t sweep anything, and there was no mop. She then proceeded to show me a cloth and bucket, and said she would keep my deposit and do it herself. I adamantly refused this and spend half an hour on my knees cleaning the floor and stairs with useless paraphernalia. However, only the day before some water had spilt on the floor and we cleaned this up with kitchen towel and the floors were absolutely filthy. It was quite clear she just wanted to keep my money and had no intention of mopping it herself by how filthy the floor was before!! After a few disagreements and my refusal to allow her to keep my money, she eventually told us the place was clean enough and handed the money back.
