Casa Lola is far more than just a beach house: its finishings and furnishings are of the highest standard; and its situation, in the southeast corner of Roche, offers direct access on to the pine forest and unimpaired views over a carpet of green tree tops.
Within the exclusive residential area of Roche, the house is just over 1km from the fabulous Roche beach and also from the protected coves known as the Calas de Conil (there is actually a lovely walk through the forest to the latter, starting from your back gate). It is 700m to the local shop, pharmacy, bar, and tennis courts. Bikes are strongly recommended to get the most out of this house, for both cycling to the beach and for trips into the forest. The owner has left two for the use of tenants and we can help organise cheap rental if you require more. This is a house for those people looking for comfort and tranquility as well as sand and surf. As a beach house, Casa Lola really is a bit of a luxury; and its location in a cul-de-sac backing on to the forest is totally peaceful (at night, all you will hear are the owls, the nightingales, and the distant waves…). For those of us who live here, we know that this corner is Roche’s best-kept secret!
It is a 10-minute drive into Conil. Jerez, Cádiz, and Tarifa can all be reached in less than 40 minutes by car, while Seville is about 90 minutes. The 'white villages' of Vejer and Medina are just 20 minutes away.
Accommodation at Casa Lola is on two floors:
The house is built on two floors, following a significant extension and refurbishment a few years ago. The ground floor comprises of a luxury kitchen with traditional tiled floor and sunny breakfast area, a large open-plan sitting room and dining room, and a bedroom wing that contains 3 good-sized bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en suite), plus a w.c.. The first floor contains an even larger bedroom with its own bathroom and another bedroom with en suite bathroom. Bathroom fittings, like those in the kitchen, are of the highest standard. There is central heating and an open fire for the colder months.
Outside, there is a huge covered terrace for eating and sitting, along with a luxury BBQ. The terrace overlooks the pool (10x5m) and then out on to the forest beyond. The garden has plenty of lawn for playing.
We are a husband-wife team that left Madrid for Spain’s deep south and a change of ...well, virtually everything really! We came up with the idea of Dos Xtremos in 2006, the catalyst being the need to increase the number of people renting our own properties, one in La Coruña and the other in Cadiz (Atlantic Spain’s two wonderful extremes). And since then, even though the business has grown (we now manage a number of properties for other owners), our goal has always been the same: “these are two wonderful and relatively undeveloped areas of Spain that have brought us enormous happiness; so let’s try and tell other people about them!” For this reason, the website has a heavy focus on regional information and includes details on the activities that we enjoy, both individually and as a family with young children.
All our houses are in the provinces of La Coruña and Cadiz, although there is a significant bias towards Cadiz, because that is where we live! Each house has been chosen because it has something special to offer, and we have tried to ensure that the mix meets a variety of tastes and requirements. In the case of the Cadiz properties, we live close by, meaning we are on-hand for problem solving and making recommendations. You may prefer to lounge by the pool (all our pools are very tempting), but if you do want to explore, we have suggestions to fill a lot more than two weeks! As for La Coruña, we personally are a long way away, but the properties are well looked after and our list of recommendations is even longer (to offset the less predictable weather!) We have a close and productive working relationship with all our owners, and we believe this shows in the way our properties are maintained.
We stayed away with in this fabulous house for a week and wished it was for longer. Casa Lola is very spacious, with excellent facilities, all you could need - home from home.
It is situated at the back of a residential village looking out onto a pine forest and about 10 minutes walk to the beautiful sandy beach.
The surrounding area is very rural, the beaches are white golden sand going for miles and local restaurants are excellence.
Also recommend the 'grand prix' at the local karting track (not cheap at €35pp and minimum 6 people for the grande prix package) half an hour karting and great great fun.
This is a beautiful house in a quiet residential area - at least it was in May half term. The house is neatly layed out for 2 families/groups wtih 5 double/twin rooms and has loads of space - inside and out. it's not overlooked and the house (esp the kitichen) is well stocked with everything you need. We had a really enjoyable week and seriously considering going back next year...
This was our fifth visit to Conil - we really love the area and will continue to holiday there. Casa Lola is a fabulous house. We were two families of four and there was more than enough space for us to spread out. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all excellent, the kitchen well stocked and the living room is enormous! The best part of the house is the terrace overlooking the pool - it has the most comfortable sofa and a gorgeous view into the forest. We whiled away many a morning and evening there - it's such a lovely sociable space.
The manager, Andrew, made sure we had everything we needed and was always on hand to help. He even found a great gym and booked a physio for one of our party.
I would whole-heartedly recommend Casa Lola, it is a wonderful house in a quiet and beautiful location.
Casa Lola is a magnificent villa. It is large, spacious and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and leads directly onto a covered outside dining area. The villa backs onto an open semi-forested area so is very private. Both the villa and the pool are very well maintained.
Casa Lola is situated in Roche which is a quiet residential development in a completely unspoilt and un-commercialised part of Spain. There are beautiful clean sandy beaches nearby and traditional white painted villages.
The property is managed by Andrew who is English so there are no communication problems.
I would strongly recommend Casa Lola to anyone who is visiting this part of Spain.
Easy drive to Jerez (sherry houses), Cádiz (possibly Europe's oldest city), Tarifa (and the boat to Tanger), the wonders of Seville, and the intriguing pueblos blancos (white villages), including Vejer-de-la-Frontera. This is the Spain of fighting bulls and flamenco, ferias and finos, and fine simple food. Visit the Roman ruins at Baelo Claudio, the lighthouse at Cape Trafalgar, the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri. 30% of the province of Cádiz is National Park, and here you will find green rolling hills, more akin to Ireland or Wales but divided by giant cactus hedges, one of the world's most important cork forests, and a micro climate within the Alcornocales park that is regarded as the last Mediterranean jungle.
Easy walk to the chemist, newspaper, hot bread, mini market, and bar; also to the playground, tennis, and 5-aside soccer. 20-minute walk down beach to fine restaurants and a heavenly spa! Yet at night all you will hear are the waves, nightingales, and owls!
Other Activities: whale watching, bird watching, kite surfing, kayaking, ballooning,
