Description

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Quartiere XVII Trieste - Feels like Home in Rome

Perfect Location - Renovated & Quiet apt – WiFi, AC, Sat TV - Customized welcome

If you are looking for an apartment that offers both central location and quiet surroundings, tourist sights and the real Roman lifestyle, this is the place! In one of the most beautiful areas of Rome, close to villa Borghese and at walking distance from the Spanish Steps, it’s a delightful and romantic penthouse with a unique terrace overlooking the neighbouring park.

This unit is ‘full optional’ (WiFi, satellite TV, air-conditioning, free calls to Europe, US, Canada, DVD, CD, washing-machine…) and the surroundings are plenty of resources (shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pizzerias, bars…) as well as very good bus connections, easy parking and beautiful parks.

The apartment ha been recently renovated and equipped with all the details that make it really nice and cosy, as we love our own home to be like, so to let you have a really comfortable and relaxing stay in Rome. It has a bright living room and a well-equipped compact kitchen, and upstairs a romantic bedroom (an authentic love nest!), with a double bed arranged with high-quality linens and the adjoining full bathroom with shower.

The private terrace is perfect for peaceful breakfasts and aperitifs surrounded by a splendid scenery. On the terrace you have at your disposal beach chairs and towels, to sunbathe far of prying eyes.

The apartment is located in the turret of an ancient villa, with a great view on the surroundings. The lift arrives at the third floor, then to reach the turret, one floor upper, there is a quite narrow and characteristic winding staircase.

On your arrival, we’ll welcome you with a customized information kit. During your stay you can rely on a friendly and prompt assistance as we live in the same villa and will do our best to help you to enjoy your stay in Rome and ‘do as Romans do’.

For details and information about payment and reservation options please email us. We’ll reply within 24 hours (usually much less).

Best stay in Rome

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic opportunity to experience the best of Rome from just outside its centre. Set in a quiet residential district Marco and Lidia's well provided apartment made the stay in Rome the highlight of this couples year.

The owners are attentive without being obstrusive and very thoughtful and kind. if you have any questions regarding your stay or the best way to get to somewhere - they do their utmost to provide the answers - usually via the apartment phone- which was available on a short dial system.

They gave us a splendid welcome and gave us exactly the right information regarding Rome that saved time during our stay. Maps to everywhere you would like to visit are provided with a key explaining the location of vital spots and good dialogue giving you the things to look for during your stay. The accommodation was just right with lots of thought given to the tourists needs - and the air conditioning was brilliant - such a relief to get back to after the heat of the day. We enjoyed the terrace overlooking the park and the views from it in the early morning and late evening .

Marco and Lidia were proud of their city and showed us the best it had to offer including a sightseeing evening and a trip to the ice cream parlour. Advice on the best places to eat was also provided which was faultless.

A more welcoming pair of owners you couldn't wish to meet.

Thank you both for your efforts.

Immaculate apartment, super location

  • 5 of 5

A great time enjoyed in this immaculate apartment, especially having breakfast on the patio. Also all the treats that were in the apartment especially Lidia's tiramisu. Nothing was overlooked. Very central spot. Would recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Charming loft with a wonderful terrace

  • 5 of 5

I agree with positive reviews below but may I add that the lovely south-facing terrace, giving on Villa Paganini park and the Apenines beyond, was a balm for this exhausted traveler. There was even a flock of pale green parrots that would circle by in the late afternoon. A delightful feature of what is a truly charming loft. It is clean, efficient and impeccably hosted by owners who are both generous of themselves and their time. Highly recommended

Great Welcome in Rome

  • 5 of 5

This is our second trip to this delightful apartment and there is little to add to the other great reviews. As they have said, this is a great quiet location, apart from the barks of neighbouring dogs. But it is the hospitality and helpfulness of Lidia and Marco that make all the difference. You need to be fit and slim to negotiate the stairs and spiral staircase up to the flat, but once there you have all you want. Marco and Lidia are great hosts and full of ideas about what to do and how to find your way around.

Fabulous apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the apartment for the week of October 17-24, 2015. Lidia and Marco provided maps, tourist info, grocery shopping info and plenty more. The apartment is comfortable and efficient. There is a fun toaster in the kitchen. It is super easy to get to from the Roma termini station. Great location, we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

A bit of La Dolce Vita in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! The property truly is the perfect place to stay in Rome: comfortable, tastefully decorated, well equipped and maintained, very conveniently located. The owners, Lydia and Marco are kind, hospitable and provide excellent customer service. We appreciated all the useful advice about the local attractions as well as tips how to move around the city. We loved all the treats ( Lydia! I thought I could make very good tiramsu but yours was out of this world. Marco! You taught us to like mozzarella) and the night drive around Rome. The evenings spent on the terrace were very much part of the fun. We do recommend the place to everybody and we'd like to come back ourselves. Ewa & Darek, Poland

Most Roman people consider this area the place where they would like to live. The location, central and safe but not touristy, next to Villa Borghese and Via Veneto (known for Federico Fellini' s movie ‘La Dolce Vita'), is one of the best in Rome, a prestigious area of liberty villas and parks, at walking distance from historic center and very well connected to all the main sights. So, coming here, you have the chance to reach every interesting place of Rome in a short time, while enjoying a special place, apart from the mess of overcrowded areas.

Although Roma’ traffic is chaotic, it is a real hidden island of peace, the ideal place to welcome you after a day spent wandering around the city or in and out of the shops, just round the corner, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance: supermarkets, excellent restaurants and nice pizzerias, wine bars, markets and shopping centers, cafés, banks with ATM, pharmacies, kiosks, laundries, hospital, churches.

Termini railway station (terminal of trains and shuttles from Rome airports) and Tiburtina railway station are very close and well connected by bus/metro (just 10 min. by taxi).

Thanks to the position and the prestige of the area, most Embassies and Consulates are located in the neighbourhood.

CONNECTIONS:

Many bus lines stops are just round the corner, metro station (‘Policlinico’) is 15 min on foot.

Since there are so many sites to visit in Rome, it’s impossible to stay close to all of them. The key is in having good connections that allow you to reach every place seamless.

And from over here you find lines to reach the Pantheon and the Trevi fountain in 15 minutes, a little bit more for Coliseum or Vatican or Eataly or Trastevere, the Appian way by metro, the same for trains to Ostia antica, …

THE ATTRACTIONS IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:

You find in the surroundings the parks that make Rome so enchanting as well as relevant historical and art sites:

VILLA BORGHESE, the most beautiful public park in Rome. It features a lake, temples, fountains, statues and several museums. The BORGHESE GALLERY, housed in the wonderful Villa Borghese, contains an unmissable collection of sculptures and pictures from masters like Bernini, Canova, Titian, Rubens, Raphael.

VILLA TORLONIA, the state residence of Mussolini since 1920s. The beautiful neoclassical villa is surrounded by the most renowned 'English landscape' garden in Italy.

The splendid COMPLEX of S. AGNES BASILICA and SANTA COSTANZA MAUSOLEUM, erected by the Emperor Constantine's daughter. It includes the CATACOMBS and is a unique example of early Christian complex of buildings.

The CATACOMB OF PRISCILLA, known as the 'Queen of the Catacombs' in antiquity on account of the fact that seven early popes and many martyrs were buried there.

The MACRO - Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, located in a former factory, exhibits works of Italian artists from the 1960s to these days.

The extraordinary QUARTIERE COPPEDE', a rather unknown attraction of Rome, just a few steps away. It is a group of Art-Nouveau buildings renowned for their architecture featuring floral, mythological and medieval effects, a fanciful style mixing Liberty and Gothic characters so that the Coppedé quarter feels like a setting straight out of a fantasy world.

VILLA ADA, one of the Rome's largest public park, was the former residence and hunting reserve of the Italian royal family.
