This suite of apartments is located in a lovely historic palazzo. The apartments are recently updated in a beautiful style of traditional and antique Italian furnishings updated with modern touches.
This is an unbeatable location in a quiet little courtyard, just 100 meters from one of the main streets that bisects the center of town. Since you will be right in the center of town, you are a 3-5 minute walk from 3 small grocers, 5 or 6 cafes, the main cathedral, 10 restaurants, and a number of shops. It doesn't get more central than this!
Each apartment features TV, WiFi, refrigerator, cooktop, new cookware, and all dishes and utensils. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and are furnished with all new 160 thread count 100% cotton linens, down and / or synthetic filled duvets, and your choice of synthetic or down pillows. Bathrooms are beautifully decorated in red marble tile with skylights and are equipped with a shower or bathtub, sink, toilet, and bidet.
This is also known as "Unit 3."
This gorgeous apartment has an unbeatable location, central but quiet, and its elegance is matched by its coziness. It's on the top floor w/elevator access and even has a terrace. It's the perfect place to call home for a little (or a long) while.
The apartment has a lovely mix of modern furniture and tasteful antiques. The main level has a bright, comfortable, open-space feel. The living area, complete with sleeper sofa and armchair, also has a corner office space. The kitchen features stainless steel counter tops and is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove top, oven, dishwasher, toaster, coffeemaker, bar, & dining table. Just beyond the kitchen you'll find the sunny terrace, complete with awning. This level also has a bathroom with a shower.
Up a short flight of stairs, the master bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, an en-suite bathroom (complete with bathtub), and a large closet with storage drawers.
What a lovely apartment and town. The apartment is perfectly located towards the center of the walled city and everything is an easy 5-10 minute walk. Vanessa just makes everything so easy while staying in Lucca. All her recommended places to eat are top notch and well vetted- stay with these and you’ll be guaranteed to enjoy the best that Lucca has to offer. The apartment is very well stocked with all the comforts of home and is a lovely place to just relax and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. We enjoyed our 6 nights in Lucca and hope to return one day.
We began our adventure on a Sunny Saturday in September--we we're three adults and we met up with Vanessa at the train station and she led us
to the very nice and comfortable apartment. Perfect --two bedrooms--two full baths--
working kitchen and stocked with the implements to cook.
We arrived on the Saturday of the annual Festival Parade--it was great to see
a happy city enjoying a festive moment with all participating...
We knew everything would work out from prior reviews...when we booked the room in 12/2013 for our Lucca adventure we put our host to the test:
ask her questions and see how fast she can responds in English. Every correspondence from Lucca was immediate and accurate and helpful.
All of her suggestions for a needed pharmacy, the best fruit store, the restaurants to go--and have reservations made for us--Vanessa delivered.
We also wanted to go on a day trip by car and her directions and suggestions
were extremely helpful--we followed them and had a memorable day in the
outskirts of Lucca.
Lucca is a very interesting city and the location of the apartment was the envy
of others who watched us make our turn into the courtyard. You are certainly
in Lucca living the Lucca lifestyle of jostling with tourists and watching the locals.
Staying 8 nights we went for morning walks to watch the children off to school
as we made our rounds of bakery and grocers. Everything is within 10 minutes
of one another within the walls of the old city.
Walking the ramparts and watching the people a daily pleasure. The botanical garden a garden of Eden. The local Contemporary Art Museum something to do.
Lucca is a beautiful bustling city and the apartment is just what one would want
to vicariously wonder what would it be like to live in such a place.
As host Vanessa could not have provided a cleaner nicer place to be--
we were only 3-- a couple and a friend--but the place had sleeping lofts for more--any questions anyone interested in staying there will be answered honestly and accurately. Any recommendations in our experience can be accepted with the fullest confidence.
We loved the place.
Everything, literally everything, was perfeto!! The apt was well-appointed, and well-stocked. Every (!) question we had re. activities in Lucca was answered promptly and completely. The location couldn't be better with nearby grocers, gelato, and eateries. Do go to their recommended venues. They were w/o exception all that was promised. The only downside was having to leave.
My wife, our 2 daughters and I stayed at this wonderful apartment in Lucca for 3 nights and had a great stay. The location is right in the heart of Lucca. You feel like a local. Lucca itself was a highlight of our stay in Italy and we travelled around for 4 months! Upon arriving in Lucca we neglected to follow Vanessa's instructions and got turned around. Vanessa and Annmarie came and picked us up and helped load our gear (and children) into the apartment. It was extemely helpful of them though I still feel a bit sheepish about needing rescue!
The apartment is large and beautiful, the maps with resto/shopping recommendations were very helpful and the welcome bottle of wine was delicious. We look forward to returning to Lucca and the apartment the next chance we get.
We had a large group staying at this lovely apartment in Lucca. We enjoyed the space and Vanessa was amazing with local information and support. The kitchen is perfect for cooking, but we mostly enjoyed the restaurants in Lucca on this trip. The apartment is in the middle of town but tucked away to be quiet yet close to restaurants, the train station and everything that Lucca has to offer. We will definitely return to this apartment when in Lucca.
This place is everything as described in the listing. We had arranged to meet Annmarie in the piazza. She showed up right on time and took us to the apartment. We were stunned--it was beyond our expectations. A delightful place with two private bedrooms, a comfortable sitting/dining area, and a nice kitchen area with combo oven/microwave, dishwasher, stove top, refrigerator/freezer, and lots of cookware.
It is well maintained with modern appliances and bathrooms, nicely appointed, and comfortable. We cooked a number of meals and just enjoyed having a place of our own.
Vanessa kept in contact with us leading up to our stay, which is always comforting when you are half way around the world! The informational materials, like a map and descriptions of where to shop, eat, and what to see, were informative and accurate. Annmarie filled us in completely and made herself available, tho we really didn't need her after the initial check in.
The recommendations for food were excellent! Try the Vispa Teresa for a great meal in a comfortable medieval setting. We also really enjoyed the Cathedral museum and the archaeological site at the Church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata. A stroll on the ramparts followed by a bottle of wine is a great way to relax and just take it in. Piazza S. Michele is a lively place, especially as the evening approaches.
We found Lucca to have a delightful energy. The apartment definitely added to the experience. We heartily recommend this place and will recommend it to friends and family. You can't go wrong.
This apartment's enviable location makes it ideal for exploring all that Lucca has to offer. Since it is located in the physical center of the historic center, all of Lucca is no more than a few minutes away on foot. From here you can explore the amazing boutique shops that line the main streets of town, visit the city's museums, theaters and concert halls, eat at any of the dozens of excellent local restaurants, and, of course, go for a leisurely stroll on the city's astonishing (and enormous) city walls. Being flat, Lucca is very bike-friendly and bikes (and pedal-cars) are inexpensive to rent for the day at any of a number of local shops.
Lucca is also the perfect city to explore all of Tuscany. Lucca uniquely combines an important mix of ingredients that we believe you'll find nowhere else in Tuscany. Its location is perfect for exploration: 30 minutes from the Leaning Tower and Pisa International, 20 minutes from the beaches of Viareggio, 45 minutes from the mountains, 60 minutes by train to Florence, and an easy 1-2 hour drive to Siena, Volterra, and the rest of Tuscany.
