The outdoor space at this villa is lovely; nice pool, plenty of shade, sun all day, usually a nice breeze and an impressive view of Montgo. Only problem outside is that some of the paving tiles are loose beside the grass which is a bit dangerous when kids are playing.
However, the interior could really do with an upgrade or just a bit of a refresh. It wuld seem sensible to add air conditioning to the other bedrooms and to the living room!
The main bathroom toilet does not seem to be properly attached and there is a pretty bad smell from the drain. The downstairs shower is pretty awful but the main bathroom shower is good with decent pressure.
There are a few broken bits - outdoor parasol, fan, living room light hanging off the wall, bathroom ceiling light.
Most worrying of the broken bits was a heavy plant pot in the living room, some of the tiles have fallen off leaving a razor sharp edge which my 9 month old niece unfortunately cut her leg on!
We also had an issue with the electricity on our first night although the owner was great and had someone come out immediately (at 10pm on a friday night!).
Although there are restaurants within walking distance, they are along the main road with no pavement or streetlights which meant we did have to take the cars to go out for any meals. That was fine for us but I would have liked to know that was the case beforehand!
Javea is an superb choice for a family villa holiday in the sun. The main Arenal beach is one of the finest in the region and its long promenade has a variety of over 50 restaurants and bars. Despite its popularity, Javea has retained its small town charm. Nestling between impressive mountains, Javea's large sandy beaches are sheltered by surrounding rocky coves - giving it safe, calm waters and a magnificent surrounding landscape.
With its variety of landscape, ranging from sandy coastlines to rugged mountains, Javea is definitely the setting for a great holiday. The town comes to life in the hot summer months, with fiestas, markets and with a large influx of international guests, Javea evolves into a buzzing tourist resort.
It is well serviced by a huge variety of restaurants, supermarkets, bars and shops and a short drive from golf, theme parks, water parks, safari parks and many other things to do.
If you wish, it is always possible to escape the madding crowd and seek serenity in any of the quiet coves along the coastline or immerse yourself in the Spanish culture which is still the backbone of Javea's way of life today.
