About the property

4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in Mossley Hill, Liverpool

The house, originally built in the 1920's, has been superbly renovated, decorated and furnished to a very high standard.

A welcoming porch-way leads into an imposing entrance hall with a beautifully restored 1920's staircase and cloakroom facilities. Off the hall is a dining room with a magnificent limestone and granite fireplace. The sitting room has patio doors onto the terrace, satellite TV, DVD and WiFi.

The stylish shaker style kitchen is extremely well equipped with dual fuel triple oven range cooker, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The central island makes the kitchen a great place for informal drinks or dining.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a view of the south facing garden, an en suite shower room and king size bed. There are three further bedrooms, two with double beds and one bunk twin. The luxury house bathroom boasts a bath, shower, twin basins and WC. The all white, Egyptian cotton bedding and large white fluffy towels contribute to making your stay at Menlove as comfortable as possible.

Many established trees and shrubs make the lawned south facing garden peaceful and secluded. Patio doors from the sitting room lead onto an extensive raised terrace with patio dining facilities and barbecue making for the perfect alfreso dining experience.

The house has oak floors throughout downstairs. Upstairs is fully carpeted except for the bathrooms which are also oak floored.

We also offer a range of themed packages, including Liverpool Football Club ticket and accommodation packages.

A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and fresh juice is provided. Additional groceries can be supplied on request.

The central heating system includes a combination boiler and thermostatically controlled radiators in all rooms allowing the temperature throughout the house to be varied on a room by room basis. Hot water is instant and unlimited.

The house is double glazed throughout and equipped with an alarm system. There are smoke alarms installed on both floors.

Where bookings are made for longer than a week there is a complimentary full linen change service. Further housekeeping can be arranged if necessary.

A cot, high-chair and stair gate are available on request.

A comprehensive manual in the house provides details of all services available and instructions for all appliances together with information on local amenities. All guests are checked in by the owners who are available throughout your stay to deal with any queries.

The property is gated with secure parking behind. Additional parking for three cars is available on the front drive.

Perfect accommodation close to Liverpool centre

8 hard working moms booked our annual weekend away at this property and we all loved stopping here. Just a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride to centre of Liverpool it was in a perfect location. The property itself was beautifully decorated and well equipped being very warm and cosy. Beds were very comfortable and pillows were huge. Wonderful time had by all and would highly recommend this property.

Liverpool is a city of contrast and variety - many cultural attractions, excellent restaurants to suit all budgets and diverse nightlife guarantee its popularity with visitors of all ages from all over the world. The Menlove holiday home by Faiseur Limited is perfect for visitors wishing to be within ten minutes of all that the City has to offer but with the ability to come 'home' and relax in comfort and privacy.

Situated in the upmarket area of Mossley Hill (often referred to locally as Allerton or L18), the house gives guests the flexibility to work, rest or play, making it the best alternative to a hotel room or apartment; where those decisions can often be dependent upon the other guests!

Menlove by Faiseur Limited is a two minute walk away from Allerton Road with its wide variety of restaurants and bars, plenty of shops, banks and a 24 hour supermarket. The beautiful Calderstones Park is a short stroll away.

Public transport links are excellent and the easiest and cheapest way into the city is to take the bus. A two minute walk will take you to nearby Allerton Road where you should never have to wait for more than five minutes for a bus heading into the city.

For those guests travelling by car, whether by the direct route down Smithdown Road or the more picturesque route around Sefton Park, it will take less than 10 minutes to get to the City Centre. In common with most big cities, parking in Liverpool can be expensive but if you are prepared for a short walk, then some of the car parks on the outskirts of the centre are more reasonably priced.

There are taxi ranks for black cabs on Allerton Road. Private hire taxis will collect you from the house.

Mossley Hill train station is around a ten to fifteen minute walk from the holiday home. Trains heading for the city stop there approximately every half an hour.

If you are feeling fit it is possible to walk to the City Centre within an hour. However, if your route takes in the recently restored Victorian Sefton Park, it would be well worth taking the time to visit the lake, the Palm House and the bandstand.

Shopping and Eating:

Allerton Road offers a wide range of shops, cafe bars and restaurants. A butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer plus various clothes shops, banks and pharmacies can all be found on this short stretch of road.

Amongst the shops are plenty of restaurants and bars serving a range of Thai, Indian, Chinese and European cuisine. Takeaway restaurants are also available for those wishing to stay home and there are plenty of coffee shops for those in search of a caffeine fix! A couple of the bars on Allerton Road offer live music at the weekend.

Rose Lane situated just off Allerton Road also has a number of bars, coffee shops and restaurants. We recommend the atmospheric ‘Pi’ with it’s enormous range of world beers and mouth watering pies.

Often referred to by the name of its more famous neighbour, Penny Lane, Church Road is a five minute walk from the holiday home (along Allerton Road towards the city). It too boasts a cluster of bars and restaurants that include the award winning ‘Spire’

At the junction of Allerton Road and Rose Lane is the 24 hour Tesco supermarket. This is also the closest petrol station to the holiday home. Although 24 hour on weekdays, this supermarket closes on Saturday evening at 10pm and Sunday evening at 4pm.

There are however two convenience Tesco stores closeby that do open until late on both Saturday and Sunday evening, one on Rose Lane and the other on Allerton Road in the direction of Church Road.

No visit to Liverpool would be complete without seeing the beautiful parks. Calderstones is only a few minutes walk from the holiday home. Within it’s sandstone walls there is a Mansion House, Children’s Playground, The Allerton Oak, The Pineatum, Ornamental Gardens, Glasshouse, The Neolithic Calderstones and a Lake.

A fifteen minute walk from the house down Queens Drive is the magnificent Sefton Park. Bordered by imposing merchants' houses, this Victorian park has recently been restored with it’s Palm House, Boating Lake, Peter Pan Statue and 2.3 mile perimeter walkway the main attractions.

Close by is Sudley House, a 19th Century merchants' house managed by the National Museums Liverpool. It is decorated in the Victorian style and retains many original features from the time. Sudley has a coffee shop and hosts regular exhibitions. Opening hours are 10am-5pm daily and admission is FREE.

John Lennon and Paul McCartney of the Beatles grew up in the area, with local places forming the basis for a number of their hit songs. Many Beatles landmarks that are within walking distance from the house.
