4 star apartment in a quiet picturesque spot in secure gated development . the south facing balcony with retractable canopy has a lovely sea view. you have the mountains behind you but the beach and town 2 km away . there is a garage that locks underground pretty town of Menton is full of wonderful restaurants, interesting shops , fresh food markets and has a fascinating perfectly preserved old town. our complex is small and quiet with mostly French residents and a secluded shared pool. We love getting away to warmer climates so it made sense to purchase a holiday apartment in one of our favourite places in the world. we never intended to rent it out so used top class furnishings . irelands recession caused us to rethink occasional holiday lettings

What makes this apartment unique

We loved the microclimate boasted by Menton, which has been considered useful for ailing health for hundreds of years. The scenery and beautiful walks right on our doorstep are wonderful. The mountain towns of Gorbio and St Agnes, with their gourmet food and spectacular views of the Mediterannean, make for an excellent walking trip..we are also very near the Tour de France training route . It's easy to hire bikes and join the pros. As less fit folk we used electric bikes last summer which was fantastic ....

for us this was the ideal get away . a quiet location with mountains around but only 1 km from the beach at the same time . the bike in the secure garage came in handy and we had lovely evenings on the quiet balcony .

the apartment is really well equipped with every amenity .

if you like to be close to nature but with all the comforts this apartment is ideal . the main bed is comfortable and the pullout king size one is better than a hotel bed .

This apartment is brand new - small but uncluttered with top of the range furnishings . the huge pull out sofa is lampolet Italian (best ever ) the balcony table and chairs are fermob . these are expensive items (hence the deposit ) but we think they add to the magic calm of the place .

Beautiful location, Spacious, clean & modern.

This spacious apartment in a modern yet quaint complex with a shared swimming pool is a magnificent get away to the South of France. The apartment is very well equipped with high quality comfortable furniture (most comfortable pull out sofa bed I have ever slept on, making it easy to fit 4 people in this one bedroomed apartment), outdoor teracce furniture, sun umbrellas, separate WC and top class utensils in the kitchen. Another special feature is the beautiful terrace with a view of the sea, perfect for breakfast or dinner al fresco. The apartment is in a quiet area within walking distance of the promenade of Menton. The apartment was very clean and well maintained, in a great location and I would highly recommend it.

The owners have provided plenty of useful information on hand including local restaurants of which there are bountiful from cheap to average to top end choice, local attractions from family activities (local parks, glass bottomed boat trip, aquarium, Jardin Botanique) to adult attractions such as water sports, checking out the nightlife in Monaco, ideal base for the Monaco Formula 1, hiking and walking trails through the local mountains and villages of Gorbio and St Agnus for stunning views, crossing the border to explore the closest Italian village (2km) Ventimiglia in Italy or simply exploring the beautiful old town of Menton.

Menton lies on the French-Italian border, on the edge of a bay between Monaco and the Italian Riviera. There is sunshine 331 days of the year plus a perfect microclimate and no mosquitoes. You have the Alpes Maritimes mountains behind you and the Mediterranean in front, plus inspiring Italian architecture and French cuisine.

The brightness of the light, the fresh air, the lack of crowds and the palm trees and lemon groves.

L'appartement est très bien équipé, la décoration est soignée.

Belle vue, appartement calme avec piscine commune.

Seul bémol, l'absence de Wifi et de chaînes TV françaises.

The pretty town of Menton is full of wonderful restaurants, interesting shops,fresh food markets,plus a well preserved historic old town. Monaco is less than 10km and the train and bus service to there is superb , Italy is a few km the opposite way and again well served by train . if you want a peaceful home base within easy reach of good food, swimming, mountain walks and mountaintop villages this is ideal . there is a lemon festival every march and numerous outdoor spectacles throughout the summer . the nearest village of carnoles is a truly French working village - next door menton holds more glamour but is still quiet and leisurely.

there are 3 unspoilt mountain villages with 1 euro bus access where you can sample French country cuisine including wild boar. as we are passionate about this area we can give you a personalised guide by post email phone .

aside from the beach one of our favourite days would be to walk to Gorbio and then onto St agnes - both mountain villages with excellent well mapped paths . the reward is a delicious meal of wild boar in st agnes . you can then catch a bus down to menton town for evening delights .
