About Dawn Mcadams
Our family purchased this ranch over 30 years ago and build Black Bear Cabin by our fathers own hands with love. We want to share this spectacular land with everyone. We live in the main residence 1/4 mile away from Black Bear Cabin. The cabin is located in a heavily wooded area and can't be seen from anywhere on the property, including our residence. We are usually busy with chores, however, if we are available don't hesitate to come down and visit with us. We love sharing the history of this land. We can also direct you to local sites and outdoor activities. We do have livestock and pets on this property, however, they are located and restricted to the area surrounding the main residence.

A slice of heaven in Montana
We absolutely loved our 8 night stay at Black Bear Cabin.
The hosts Dawn and Brett were so welcoming and helpful with area info from hiking, fishing, biking, Glacier, good food, etc! They were very quick to respond when we had questions.
The cute A frame was perfect for a comfortable stay. It had everything we needed to settle in and make it feel like home. We instantly fell in love with the cabin and the property. Being on 100's of acres with abundant wildlife was so fabulous! It was the perfect spot to get away from it all and unwind.
We will definitely return to this amazing property!
Fantastic Wilderness Getaway!
Our family had a WONDERFUL three-week stay at this cabin in western Montana. The ranch is beautiful and well-maintained, with elk, deer, turkey, and ground squirrels outside our door every morning. The property is in a great location for day trips to zip-lining, mountain-biking, hiking, white-water rafting, river fishing — and also to nearby lakes, the National Bison Range, and Glacier National Park. And if you don’t want to drive, the ranch itself offers a wonderful space to explore — forests, mountain fields filled with wild flowers, and so much to discover and enjoy. Our hosts were welcoming, kind, generous, and made us feel right at home. We can’t WAIT to return. Five stars!!!
Black Bear cabin
Very much enjoyed our time in the beautiful peaceful setting of the Black Bear cabin. Owners were very accommodating and the cabin cozy and had every needed for a lengthy stay. Hope to return to search for the elusive black bear.
Incredible scenery-rustic accommodations
Montana seclusion located only 2 miles from I-90 on 300 acres. Black Bear Cabin is a 680 square foot cabin with a loft. It has 2 queen beds and sleeps 4. It also has a full kitchen and washer and dryer for your convenience.
The property borders millions of acres of Lolo Natl Forest and offers hundreds of miles of well groomed and maintained ATV and snowmobiling trails. We have prestine lakes nearby and world class fly fishing is only 14 miles away on the Clark Fork river. 2 miles away offers fly fishing on the St Regis river for a more relaxed setting.
Prepare to wake up and see wildlife on the property. We usually wake up to elk, white tail deer, wild turkeys, bald eagles and red tail hawks. We often are visited by black Bear, moose and mountain lion.
We do not allow hunting on the property, however, hunting is allowed in the national forest bordering us. You must be aware of all state hunting laws and have all required licenses and tags.
Please be aware of your surroundings and respect this land as if it were your own. We want you to enjoy your stay in this magical part of Montana and have fun!
