K0096 - Casa Catalina - CITY ID#3690, TOT Permit #3085
Welcome to Casa Catalina. The owners of this classic Palm Springs bungalow eloped to Avalon, Santa Catalina Island over 30 years ago, where they fell in love with the island’s rich history and Spanish influenced architecture. Located in the South Palm Springs Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood, Casa Catalina is close to shopping, dining, and the trendy new hotels and nightspots along South Palm Canyon Drive.
<BR>Evocative of Catalina, the rustic charm of this 1940’s era Palm Springs home is warm and welcoming. With a landscape designed by local artisans, Mojave Rock Ranch, the grounds are alive with hummingbirds, butterflies and color. Mature landscaping creates private, cozy spots to read, sun and relax. (The owner’s favorite is a quiet corner tucked under a magnificent old fig tree with views to the San Jacinto Mountains.) The sparkling, classic kidney-shaped pool and spa have been renovated for ease of use and comfort, and the flagstone patio includes a gas fire-pit.
The décor is simple: With a nod to Palm Springs’ rancho past, and old Hollywood influence, the furnishings are comfortable. The original on-site built cabinets, Saltillo floors, and vintage bath tiles speak to another era, while modern on demand hot water, wireless internet and streaming services, (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu), along with new heating and air conditioning systems, ensure your comfort.
A gas fireplace in the living room creates instant ambiance, and takes the chill off desert winter evenings. In the living room you will also find both cable and Internet TV options, along with a fine collection of classic films on DVD.
This home features two bedrooms: a master with a Queen bed and Smart TV, and a second bedroom with two Twin beds. Both share a hall bath. A second bath is adjacent to a den with a comfortable pullout American Leather Queen bed.
The kitchen is fully outfitted for home cooking and entertaining. Colorful Fiesta Ware will liven up your table, and you will find everything you need for an extended stay, including a covered outdoor dining area with LP gas grill. No cats are allowed.
If you value relaxation in a tranquil, cozy and convenient location, come home to Casa Catalina.
