Why Sestriere in the Summer?

For the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the fresh air that you can breath at 2,035m above sea level. During the day, the temperature is always ideal.  In the evening a light heating (unnecessary but pleasant) make the stay delicious, especially when thinking to the hot weather of the planes. At sunset, the light is unique, with sunlight until late.  Sestriere has an excellent 18 holes golf course, the highest of Europe, swimming pool, tennis courts, a sporting palace.  You can rent mountain bikes for tours on dedicated paths.  You can use the cable car to reach the peak of the surrounding mountains with your bike and enjoy single track downhill. You can make trekking excursions, of any type.  Within a range of few kilometres you can reach dream valleys in the national park of Orsiera, Gran Bosco and Troncea Valley.  Or you can drive to France, to the pass of Galibier, Lotaret, de l'Isoard and the Clairee valley. Within few kilometres you can reach Briançon, with its middle age historical centre, the fortress of Exilles and Fenstrelle, the ancient Roman town of Susa, the San Michele Abbey and the charming baroque town of Torino, the first capital of Italy, known for its fashion shops, the gastronomy, the wine and - above all - its museums (Egyptian, Cinema, Contemporary Art, Ancient furniture, Archeological, Oriental, Fine Arts, Automobile, etc) the royal palaces (La Venaria, Rivoli, Madama Palace, Stupinigi), the medieval Castle and the Superga Abbey.  Motor bikers can experience interesting mountain tours.  

During the winter, Sestriere, among the highest ski resorts in Europe, has extensive ski courses covered by abundant snow.  

How to reach Sestriere?

95 km from Torino, Sestriere can be reached

By car (1) From Torino, with the Pinerolo highway (then via Fenetrelle, along the Chisone Valley) or with the Frejus highway (along the Susa Valley)  (2) From Lyon (France) with the Frejus highway, exit Oulx.

By train, with the line Paris-Lyon-Torino (Oulx station). Then by taxi / bus (get timetable in advance).

By plane: Caselle airport (Torino), 95 km from Sestriere

Spacious flat with a perfect view

This is the perfect place for the big family. We came 5 adult and 4 kids – one toddler – and we just loved the spacious apartment with the really big living room, the two bathrooms and the cosy bedrooms. We went out to for dinner in the evenings but could easily have made dinner at home in the fine kitchen. We had excellent weather with 80 cm newfallen snow and a high blue sky. There is a garage in the basement with space for two cars and an elevator to get upstairs. Not to forget the concierge – she was very lovely and very helpful at all time.

There is a bakery just at the foot of the building – don’t miss their good dark bread and big selection of cheese.

A place to recommend.

semaine au ski période vacances scolaires

Arrivée samedi à 14 h très bon accueil par la gardienne nous étions 4 adultes et 2 enfants ( 7 et 10 ans ) l'appartement est grand bien chauffé belle vue mais vétuste dans sa totalité défaut majeur : la télévision du séjour est hors d'âge et ne fonctionne pas reception uniquement des chaines italiennes dans les chambres Pas de wifi dans l'appartement

l’état général de la plomberie et la cuisinière devrait être changée ainsi que les deux réfrigérateurs ; Odeur nauséabonde dans les deux salles de bains. Piscine ?

Défaut de la station : accès aux pistes très mal desservi

conseil pour les skieurs privilégiez directement le télécabine pour skier sur le domaine SANCICARIO et SAUZE D'OULX BONNE VACANCES

un séjour très agréable

Nous étions 7 dans ce logement très agréable et nous avons apprécié l'espace, les deux salles de bain, le garage en sous-sol et la vue avec les balcons.

Les pistes de ski sont variées et à proximité, et l'altitude de la station a permis une qualité de neige remarquable. La restauration sur les pistes est nombreuse et de qualité à un prix raisonnable. L'accès à la station est par ailleurs très facile depuis la France.

A signaler également que la concierge (qui parle bien le français) a été très disponible et d'une grande gentillesse. Un adresse à recommander.

Very pleasant apartment

We stayed at Sestriere when unfortunately the snow was very poor and the pistes in a dangerous condition. However it snowed on the Friday so we did at least get one good day. This apartment is extremely spacious and has two bathrooms and loos. The living area is huge and has the most wonderful views of the slopes and the beautiful mountains opposite Sestriere. It would be 5 star except that the apartment is more or less original in fixings and certainly does need some updating in the bathrooms and kitchen. Some rather odd and old fashioned fixings really letting the apartment down. But having said that it is certainly a great space and the views can't be beaten. The caretaker lady was lovely and all in all I would recommend this apartment. If it were mine I would however spend some money and update and then it would be truly 5 star. The space and views certainly warrant it.

Sestriere, January 2015

Мы останавливались в этих апартаментах с 24 января по 6 февраля 2015 г. Описание апартаментов на сайте вполне соответствует их фактическому состоянию. Достаточно мебели, разнообразной посуды и прочего оборудования, хорошего качества теле и аудио аппаратура. Есть гараж и лыжехранилище. Особенно хороша гостиная, просторная, с уютными диванами по периметру, с панорамным окном и прекрасным видом на зону катания Сестриере. Апартаменты идеально подходят для компании 6-8 человек, рекомендуем. До подъемников 5-7 минут пешком, напротив дома есть остановка автобуса.

"Appartamento molto gradevole, dotato di tutti i comforts richiesti per una piacevole permanenza in montagna. Tutt''affatto conforme e corrispondente all''annuncio apparso sul sito, con una vista molto bella sulle montagne.

Molto apprezzata la grande capienza del garage che permette il parcheggio di due autovetture.

Notevole anche l''attenzione e la gentilezza della portineria dello stabile.

Un''esperienza molto positiva ed una sistemazione sicuramente da raccomandare per vacanze invernali o estive."
