3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, 2 Toilets & a large garden with outdoor dining and a BBQ

The house is a few minutes' walk from the beach to one side and a few minutes' walk from all the restaurants and bars to the other.

The cottage has great character in the century-old design, wood-panelled dinning room and large secluded garden. There are 3 lovely double bedrooms, sleeping up to six, with the possibility of 2 additional cot beds. On the first floor you will find the two main bedrooms and the main bathroom (with bathtub and shower), and a separate toilet. Downstairs there is a dining room, a sitting room, a kitchen with an additional small dining area, a downstairs shower room and a second separate toilet. Bedroom number 3 can also be found on the ground floor, through our little 'sunroom' towards the back of the property. The sitting room has TV and DVD and there is free Wifi.

The house is situated in a lovely, tiered garden with mature shrubs and (fruit) trees, with swings, see-saw and toys for children. We have recently completed the works to the al-fresco dining area which now completes the holiday feeling. We hope that you will appreciate the charm of our home as much as we do.

Unfortunately, the house has a number of steps and levels on the ground floor making it unsuitable for wheel chair users.

About Roger Thelwell-Pichler

We are a family from London who loves coming to stay in Broadstairs whenever possible. Our twin-girls always squeal with delight when we tell them that they will be going to the beach, building sand castles, paddling in the sea and having an ice-cream on the promenade - no matter what time of year it is. We fell in love with Broadstairs many years ago (we actually got engaged here!) and then our dream came true when we stumbled across this idyllic cottage in 2009. We have since restored it lovingly and turned it into a really cosy holiday home. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Delightful property in a great location

When we arrived we were impressed at the size of the property. It was more than adequately stocked.and was clean and well maintained.

We had a great week in the area and if we return to Broadstairs will look to book the property again. We would recommend this property.

Family cottage

We had a lovely holiday in this well equipped house. It is central to the town and near sandy beaches. Our 19month old grandson enjoyed the toys provided.

A wonderful time

Hullo Roger:

As I mentioned in a text to you before I left England, I would provide more feedback on your property, once I returned to the US, and here I am.

Firstly we had a marvelous time. The property was larger and I expected, and secluded from the other homes. The street was quiet. Each of the three bedrooms were spacious and light. The large bathroom upstairs was wonderful. There was always plenty of hot water for the showers, the dishwasher, and the washing machine. I did have to ask my niece how to operate the dryer when that light kept going on. Once she explained that the dryer was not vented outside and the reservoir had to be emptied, it was smooth sailing. We all loved the amount of space, with a large lounge with loads of toys, and the lovely dining room. My grandchildren, and other children that visited us made great use of the toys, as well as the lovely sloping garden. The swings were put to good use. I did have family visiting and we sat outside – I was unable to find the seat cushions for the chairs, but we used the benches anyway. All appliances worked well.

We followed your directions to the beach and into town, and each walk was pleasant. For our larger shopping we did go to Sainsbury, just an 8-minute drive. I always rent a vehicle when I go back to England each year, but this time it was a bigger one -a van – and my son really enjoyed driving around the streets.

My girls found a friend in the downstairs toilet, behind the toilet itself. They named it Tom, I wanted to name it Ralph, but they won that toss. Each day the girls would look for Tom and let me know if it was in or out.

The section joining the kitchen to the bedroom on the ground floor was perfect for drying clothes as the sun came through most of the day and in fact it got quite hot.

Your neighbour came over to assist with getting the rubbish to the curb, so thank you for that. The only snag was the regular rubbish bin was almost full on our arrival, and that pick up did not occur during our stay. When we left we had several large plastic bags of regular rubbish which were put beside the bins.

All in all we had a super time, and would definitely book again. Not next year but in a few years.

spacious and convenient

The house was spacious and provided plenty of room for four adults. It is conveniently situated - not far from the town centre, but in a quiet area with very little traffic.Although there are a few steps to access some of the rooms, the downstairs bedroom is useful for anyone who is used to living in a bungalow. The owner was very accessible and provided quick answers to the two small queries that arose. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Broadstairs next year.

Great house for a family holiday

Lovely family feel to the house. Good location, very well equipped, clean and homely. Easy walk down to the beach at Stone Bay or into Broadstairs for Viking Bay. Owners helpful and quick to respond.

Adults love bedroom number 3 as it steps out on to the garden, but for small children it may feel a little too far away from their parents if they are on the first floor.
