Great getaway, beautiful area!
Thank you Aleta for sharing your cottage. The house was spacious, kitchen well-equipped and the put-in lakeside was perfect for us. The views were awesome. The weather was mostly cloudy but the lake was like a mirror, we paddled every day. The long dirt road was great to walk the dog on. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year. Thank you again, Ron and Judy
Great cabin for a remote getaway.
Adela's cabin was great for our family vacation. We spent 10 days there with two 2 year olds and extended family and we had a wonderful time. The one downside, which we were aware of beforehand, was the lack of cell service. We were a bit nervous about being without any communication having young children with us (for emergency purposes) but in general it was nice to have a break from reality. The cabin is clean and the water was warm and clear. Thanks so much for a great stay!
Would rent again
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is far enough from main roads that you can rarely hear vehicles, the pond is small enough that it doesn't attract a lot of powerboats, and the location is not on airline routes so you don't even see planes or contrails. Very peaceful! The pond is great for kayaking, canoeing, rowing, etc., and sitting on the front deck taking it all in is wonderful. We saw lots of wildlife.
The cottage is a little rough around the edges, more camp-like than second home-like, but we found it fine enough as far as the usability of the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc. We would look forward to staying again.
Relaxing family week
Pros: clean lake, perfect temperature, spacious home, relaxing getaway. We loved using the kayak and canoe, swimming out to the dock, playing board games and reading on the spacious deck
Cons: No cell service OR internet, no cable TV or diswasher or washing machine or A/C. It was a bit of a drag needing to bring our own sheets and towels (I didnt realize this when I booked). VERY buggy... my son woke up with 127 bug bites! Also, the neighbors are very close (but everyone we met was friendly). It was 25-30 minutes to downtown N. Conway.. so we only went out a few times.
Be careful... We had a black bear at the trash barrels every night!!
Overall, we had a relaxing family fun week.
Overall it was quite lovely and relaxing! Beautiful views! Cottage was comfortable and enjoyed the outside deck & firepit! Only recommendations would be about WiFi and grill. Though I had no issue not having WiFi, it was a little trying with teenagers and when my husband had to access work periodically. The grill seems to be on its last leg 😢
Owner was responsive to my messages and we thoroughly enjoyed the loons and the 2 big mouth bass fish that we caught!
Outstanding View! Low frills Cabin.
Overall, we loved our stay. The view is worth everything! The deck sits right on the lake and the location is perfect. The lake is clean/clear. My 7 year old could easily swim, kayak, see fish and turtles. The cabin is very low frills! Simple living. We had no cell service at all, no internet, no A/C, no dishwasher. The cabin was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The owner responded quickly to my inquiries. The kitchen is tiny and not stocked too well. Bring your own sheets and towels as none are provided. This is ideal for a small family wanting a simple cabin in the woods experience and wanting to get away from it all. North Conway is an easy 20 mins drive if you want to get out. It can be buggy in the yard so bring your bug spray. Great outdoor hammock. Pretty quiet lake with only a few motor boats. Lots of swimming, canoes, paddle boards on the lake. The neighbors were friendly. The house has no A/C and can get hot in the upstairs rooms. There are some fans provided to cool it down. The view of the lake from the upstairs rooms is worth everything. Really spectacular. The bbq is charcoal so we did not use it, but we did eat out on the deck every night and watch the sunset. Our family had a great time here. Thank you!
