This lovely flat has a king sized bed in the cosy bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room for extra guests. The bathroom has a large shower, toilet and basin plus a washing machine. The well stocked kitchen has views over the Moors as you wash up or you can use the dishwasher. There is a gas hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge freezer. The living room has a comfy sofa, armchairs and Freeview TV, DVD and CD player. There is free WiFi. The conservatory has a dining table and chairs for four, plus a comfy arm chair. About Vanessa Bicknell
We moved to Glastonbury in 2001 after selling our bookshop in Hampshire and bought the Flying Dragon Bed and Breakfast. In 2010 we converted the downstairs into a beautiful garden flat and renamed it the Flying Dragon's Nest and moved up into the bed and breakfast house ourselves.
Vanessa Bicknell purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Vanessa Bicknell chose Glastonbury
We had been coming to Glastonbury for years as a place for rest and retreat, plus we love the Chalice Well Garden and climbing the Tor. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we often walk in the Mendips and out on the Levels looking at the incredible bird wildlife.
What makes this Apartment unique
We bought this particular house because of its fantastic views and its great potential to use as a rental property, As we face west we can often have incredible sunsets and light into the house. It is a very peaceful place to live, yet near everything that Glastonbury has to offer.

Amazing views, lovely flat, great hospitality
We loved staying at the Flying Dragon’s Nest. Vanessa and her husband were very welcoming and accommodating, and the flat itself was very charming and comfortable, with amazing views of the Somerset Levels.
It was also very handy being just a 5-10 minute walk into Glastonbury (close to lots of nice eateries offering vegan options for us).
We would definitely stay here again - although the steps may be a bit of a challenge when our seven month old baby starts crawling, but the flat and its beautiful gardens would be perfect for a couple’s weekend away or for families with older children (who won’t be keen to crawl down the steps!).
Thank you Colin for your great review. It is important to know we have steps, however the view is worth it. Your seven month old will appreciate it one day!!!
Gorgeous little hideway
There were just the two of us and the venue was perfect. Very clean and private, everything you would want for self catering - not that we did much catering as the Glastonbury restaurants are very good.
Things to note though, there are quite a few steps down to the property. Most Glastonbury restaurants close early evening or late afternoon, there are a few that stay open, mainly pubs and Indian restaurants.
Quiet bird’s eye view of town
We’ll equipped apartment in great location to explore the Somerset region.
Accommodating hosts, wonderful conservatory, large bathroom and kitchen.
Enchanting, clean and comfortable!
Our experince at The Flying Dragon's Nest was fantastic! The apartment is very, very, clean, tastefully furnished and extermely comfortable. Flowers everywhere in the beautiful outdoor garden, perfect for enjoying the sunset and early morning bird-watching. Inside the artium/patio, which is spacious and comfortable in cold or warm weather, the geraniums are beyond magnificent, providing a delicate perfume. Great for eating meals at the ample table or just relaxing in the big comfortable chairs. The apartment is well-stocked with everything one could possibly need. Beds are really comfortable and great shower in large bathroom. Kitchen with large frig and lovely views to the gardens. The entire apartment has great natural light and a spacious and warm ambient. The owners, Vanessa and Renchi are charming, extremely helpful and very kind. We felt like we were staying with friends. The apartment is very private, quiet and peaceful. Short 5-minute walk to Glastonbury High Street and all of the shops, restaurants, grocery stores and highlights of Glastonbury are easily reached on foot. We will return and we would not stay anywhere else after our lovely experience at The Flying Dragon's Nest! Thank you Vanessa and Renchi!
Thank you so much Christine for your wonderful review. We so enjoyed having you both to stay and look forward very much to meeting you both again next time you come to Glastonbury.
Amazing View in Glastonbury
We stayed here last month so that we could attend a workshop at the Avalon Rooms in Glastonbury, our stay was perfect! The apartment had everything we needed to make it a home from home. It was only a ten minute walk to where we had to go each day, which meant a quick run home at lunchtime was easy to do. Be warned, it has steep steps so is not for the unfit, luckily we had been improving our fitness so enjoyed the challenge. The views made it all worthwhile! I would stay here again! Thankyou Vanessa and Renchi for being lovely hosts!
Exceeded My Expectations
Vanessa and Renchy were the best hosts, we didn't have a car and Renchy picked us up at the bus stop! The house is up on a hill with fantastic views. I loved The solarium and wish I would have had more time to use it. I started each day in it with a cup of coffee and ended the day with a glass of wine just enjoying the view. Everything was super clean, the bed comfortable, and it is an easy walk downtown (but it is uphill on the way back). I highly recommend this property!
Thank you Denise so glad you enjoyed your time in the apartment, we are so happy you chose to stay with us.
