This large studio space is located on a private road in South Bristol. High ceilings with many windows and skylights, this space has a feeling of peace, privacy and spaciousness. Queen sized bed, washer/dryer, full kitchen facilities, as well as a fully equipped artist's studio. Perfect for artists and writers or anyone wanting a retreat space. A 2 minute walk through the woods takes you to the Damariscotta River and deep water access to the beauty of Maine's waters. Close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. A small cabin behind the studio building is available as another bedroom for guests or as a music or writing room. Nearby attractions include a beach, a lighthouse, movie theater, gift stores, cafes, a bookstore, and a health food store that is "better than Whole Foods".
This apartment is available for rent all year. I rent by the week in July, August and September. All other months by the day - 2 night minimum.

Respite

We had a quiet and peaceful February visit. So satisfying having a well stocked studio space and the luxury of time. The shoreline walk along the water was beautiful and noticing the barking seals luxuriating on the rocks was a joy. We are very much looking forward to returning.

mid January artist retreat

I had an absolutely wonderful time, the apartment was spotless and had everything I could have asked for - Joy is a superb host! Great location, great light and overall very conducive to working on any sort of creative project.

Art Studio

Enjoyed our stay. Great art supplies available. A little out of town but well worth the drive. Joy was very helpful with our late arrival by leaving a light on. Joy also gave great directions with availability of grocery stores. Summer her must be off the chart.

Spacious Artist Retreat

This studio of a working artist is clean, roomy This is our second stay in this bright, roomy treehouse-like studio. It is quiet and peaceful and Joy is a thoughtful host. We appreciated the bucket of birdseed for the feeders on the porch. The birds gave us quite a show. We will be back.
