This unique property sits on 40 lush acres with it's own river front beach and forest. A giant fireplace is the centerpiece of an enormous great room that boasts 24ft ceilings, The log lodge was built with wood cut and milled right on the spot. Words cannot do justice to the beauty of this place.
We are a working organic farm with goats, chickens, ducks, barn cats, and 2 giant Great Pyrenees protector dogs. But once you get into the lodge, you'll just think you're in a 4.5 star resort with spectacular views from every window.
Ask us about special event rentals, including weddings, milestone birthdays, retreats, and more. Please note that the weekend of July 29th is available, however, we will be having a family campout, so you will only be able to use the far river access. Ask if you have questions.
The kitchen is a chef's dream. a total remodel was completed in May of 2017. Porcelain tile, stainless steel, and open fir shelving bring the beauty, the Wolf and Subzero appliances bring the functionality and elegance. Two refrigerators (chefs will appreciate the 48" Pro Subzero), two dishwashers, a three compartment commercial sink, two Wolf ranges, one with a grill and one with a griddle sit under a massive island hood vent. You will want to cook in this kitchen, or hire our chef and baker.
The dining room opens to the living room and can expand to accommodate very large dinner parties.
Master Suite 1 has a deep soaking tub for two, a shower, and a private deck overlooking the river below. The suite can have king size bed or be customized to contain multiple beds, depending on your needs.
Master Suite 2 has a bath tub with shower and the most amazing view of the park-like estate grounds.
The Bunk Room can sleep up to 10 people. It has an attached 3/4 bath with a shower and access to two shared toilets and a shared shower.
There are four other bedrooms. Two connect via a Jack and Gill bathroom. One connects to the main bathroom, and the other is across the hall (makes a great office).
The family or lounging room, as we like to call it, is a large mezzanine or loft area that is perfect for smaller groups to break away., play cards, watch a movie, enjoy social media, or read a book. Also room to sleep 8 more people on mats, should you have extra guests.
There are two covered porches in the back of the house? One of them is used for al' fresco dining, the other is often used as a yoga/exercise area and a sleeping porch in the summer. The front porch is the perfect place to watch the sun stream through the manicured forest.
There are areas to camp if that would be fun for you, and we have some tents, pads, and sleeping bags you can borrow. Camping for up to 40 people is possible.
THINGS WE THINK ARE AWESOME ABOUT THE LODGE:
A Sonos sound system delivers music throughout the house. You can play the same music, or play different music in different zones.
We're on a well, so the water is mineral rich and pure.
We're on a farm, so you are likely to be able to purchase fresh eggs, goats milk (starting in August, we hope), fruits, and possibly a selection of vegetables (though this is our first year, so we might not have extra produce right away).
You may be able to get to meet our farmers (they live on the property in a tiny house) and spend time with the farm animals. You might even be able roll up your sleeves and pitch in if that sounds like fun for you. Love goats?
We're very close to downtown Portland and the airport - only 30 mins for either - but you will feel a million miles away. We're only 20 minutes from trendy parts of SE Portland, like Hawthorn and Division. Being at the end of our own road means you'll not see neighbors, only the land stewards.
We're very close to a New Season's (Oregon's version of Whole Foods), restaurants and coffee shops (including Starbucks). It's a quick 12 minute drive. But you wouldn't know it once you're on the property.
We have rafts and kayaks, life vests, and coolers. We can arrange to take you up the river and drop you off so you can drift on down. We'll show you how to recognize our beach, and you can pull right on in, just in time for lunch or dinner. Or just enjoy lazy days splashing in our little slice of the river which is safe and secluded. You see, we own the seven acre island that separates our strip of river from the rest of the Clackamas. No one seems to know about our "private" beach and swimming hole, we think because, it's hard to get to. Your group or family will have the place all to yourself! (We will ask you to fill out our liability waiver, and to acknowledge that you use the river and all equipment at your own risk.)
We have a keyboard, djembes, and hand instruments if you want to make music around the campfire (between June 15 and October 15 only fire containers allowed, but the rest of the year, bonfires rock!) or in front of the hearth.
We're building a hot tub, should be ready by next summer (keep that in mind for next year!)
We have the most adorable barn cats. They don't come in, but if you love cats, they love to be petted.
We have a geothermal heat and air conditioning system. It's environmental and it keeps the lodge very comfy.
We have a Porto Potty down by the river between June and October - you can stay down there all day if you like.
There is a camping area below which you can reserve as part of your rental. Just contact host
