About Daniel Lacan

Il all began in 2007 when we inherited this property from our familly. We then started to invest a lot of time and energy to transform this house into a comfortable place where people could eventually spend marvellous holidays.

It was six years later that we had the pleasure of receiving our first guests who left with huge smiles on their faces promising to return. This was our most wonderful reward.

Return to Bellevue; lovely hosts, great house and a taste for rural France at its best

This was our promised return visit to Bellevue having first stayed in 2014; the first British group to do so.

Upon arrival and throughout the informative tour of the house Daniel and Veronique made

us feel like old friends. Our hosts have kept updating the facilities which now include the very latest induction hob plate and easy clean gas barbeque, both large enough to comfortably cope with cooking for a family.

Again the house and its setting didn’t disappoint even when the weather turned somewhat British like. Daniel was on hand to turn on the under floor heating on, which kept the house pleasantly warm during some chilly evenings.

The views from the terrace and pool remain amongst the best we have experienced in our 25 years of renting in France. Along with the villages and towns around this area really evoke the delights of rural France. Our trips up on to the Aubrac were a joy. The wide open undulating land set against a blue sky will not be forgotten.

Our trip to the Millau viaduct and on to the Jonte valley was easily achieved within a morning’s drive giving us time to enjoy a good lunch sitting out on a restaurant terrace. Then onto nearby and excellent Vulture centre before rounding off the day with a leisurely drive back home via the majestic Tarn gorges.

We would recommended Bellevue this to everyone who wants a taste for rural France at its best.

Thank you Daniel and Veronique for making our second visit so delightful. We will return as Bellevue remains an absolute favourite villa of ours

Wonderful, relaxing, very enjoyable,

Views from this property are wonderful, looking down into the Lot valley at the small town and the very pretty village next to it. The house is spacious and well layed out, with excellent high quality facilities through out. Inside it was pristine the owners must place a very high importance on keeping it in perfect condition, the garden is very well kept and with the pool and a large selection of outside games it is easy to spend several days just enjoying being there.

It is a great base to go walking from and with river and forest walks available there is no shortage of places to go.

The owners greeted us on arrival and gave a comprehensive rundown of the house and all it`s equipment as well as some tips on places to go and things to see, this was backed up by books about the house and the area, they were very friendly and only too happy to help should we require any.

We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends or family, and will certainly look forward to a return visit.

Amazing house, beautiful setting, perfect

We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful house in the Lot Valley. The house easily accomodates a large family and is immaculately presented - it makes you feel very special when you stay there. The pool is also perfect and lovely and warm. We were met by Daniel and Veronique who were the perfect hosts, in short we loved this house and would love to return.

First class

Thank you for your hospitality on our recent stay in Bellevue,

Your online pictures do not do your accommodation justice, Bellevue is actually much better than the pictures online, It is truly 5*+,

we had some bad weather which was the only downside and of course out of everyone's control, but still did not bother us too much.

Very Posh

7 of us spent 11 days at La Bellevue. We felt very special being allowed to enjoy the lovely restored home. Original on the outside, modern on the inside.

We were met by Daniel and Véronique upon our arrival. Their cheery dispositions made us feel at ease. While Daniel's English was limited Véronique was quite fluent. They gave us a detailed tour which took a while due to the many features of the house. The coffee machine alone needed 5 minutes to learn how to operate.(we learned how to make cappuccinos on the last day!)

The house is situated on a hill overlooking two 13 C. villages. Cows and horses were our neighbours. The name Bellevue was chosen I am sure for the lovely views.

There is a beautiful pool which saw little use by us as we were a bit early in the season.

While the location is remote there is lots to see and do once you are there. Boulangeries abound and the local butcher had wonderful meats. We went to several markets and visited many local sights. We all loved it.

Perhaps the best part was the lovely welcome gifts given to us upon our arrival; local wine, pastries, chocolate and local information.

We had a problem with the wifi and after a call to Véronique she drove 40 km to solve it for us. Now that is customer service!

We would have loved to share this with our family. Un aútre fois!

A fabulous villa, which ticked all the boxes!

A truly fabulous villa, which ticked all the boxes we wanted from a Holiday!

We spent 2 very enjoyable weeks at Bellevue in August 2015, as two families of four, with children ranging from 7 to 16.

The property is stunning and exceptionally appointed. The rooms are spacious, well laid out and provide everything you could want from a holiday villa. Just as the photos imply – the villa is very well designed and beautifully finished in all aspects. The kitchen is highly specified but still very functional for a large group/family, with a separate utility area. The living space was flexible, with 3 separate eating areas, 1 inside and 2 outside – depending on your requirement for sun/shade and the time of day. The shutter system allowed the house to stay cool, but ventilated and secure, with additional fans available in upstairs bedrooms.

Outside, the pool is amazing, a really good size with pool lights, which allowed us to swim late into the night. The decking area was large and provided a fantastic space to laze by the pool on very comfortable loungers. The large double garage housed a table tennis table and was also fully stocked with bikes/ride on toys for younger children. Outside games were also available – badminton, boules and larger items such as a trampoline and slide, and the vast amount of land attached afforded the children plenty of space to play.

The panorama from the front of the house over the Lot valley is breath taking – something you could definitely get very used to waking up to every morning. The local area also provided excellent facilities on your doorstep – Intermarche – a 5 minutes’ drive away and Boulangeries in both villages. Canoe/paddle boards were available for hire in both villages and a good high ropes course was only 10 minutes away. The Aubrac plateau was a 30 minute drive away and provided breath-taking scenery, as well as another high ropes course at one of the ski-stations.

Overall, if you love France, enjoy the freedom self-catering offers and want privacy away from the masses to relax, then this is well worth considering. We could not fault the property, Veronique and Daniel could not have been more helpful and the surrounding countryside and villages are just beautiful. It definitely deserves its 5 star rating.

Near our house five stars, you can make the tree climbing, mountain hiking and walking on the Aubrac, solar boat, canyoning, participate in many activities that offer Saint Geniez Olt.

Enjoy the local cuisine with its famous Aubrac meat and Roquefort.

We are located 30 minutes from the Millau Viaduct and the Gorges du Tarn.

Our cottage, with private pool, overlooking the Lot valley and is surrounded by lush greenery.
