General's Hideaway is a decorative fusion mixing modern amenities with history
About Elizabeth Barber
Hi, I started using airbnb back in October of 2014 in the form of a host. We now have a 6 bedroom home with a heated in door pool, a cottage, a cabin, a farmhouse that sleeps 14 and our newest house that opened May 26 2017! I grew up in South Carolina on Hilton Head Island. I left at 17 and traveled extensively finally to spend a lot of time in South Beach and New York City. Being in the fashion industry for over 20 years I have stayed at amazing hotels and have been fortunate enough to meet and work with designers from all over the word. I have incorporated both a passion for real estate, decor, and hospitality to share with travelers from all over with. They might be rustic rentals in the country but they are loaded with any and every luxury one could want. I love interacting with all our guests and help any way I can to make their stay 100% enjoyable. My family and I live on a retired apple orchard ten miles out of Gettysburg. I have a love for healthy food and a healthy lifestyle. My work and family keep me extremely busy along with a ton of pets indoor and outdoor. We love to make the use of all 30 acres. Hopefully we will start using airbnb places in our upcoming travel!

Close to all the important area
House was unique, in a great way. Traffic was noisy even with the speed signs of slow -residents did not slow and home is right on the road. There is plenty of room for pets and wonderful fire pit area. Brewery less then a mile away even had fireworks we had best view ever! ONLY request I would make is to add a dishwasher -I’m not the best at doing dishes and would like to have had sanitized dishes. Ps. I would still go back. We were very pleased.
Great relaxing getaway
The old historic meets new decor was absolutely beautiful idea! the layout was spacious and stunning. Relaxing setting in wine and apple country! Do close, just a few miles to Gettysburg downtown yet far enough out to be super peaceful and scenic. Our dog was a guest and enjoyed the extras just for him. We enjoyed all the itte extras we didn't have to bring that were provided! THE EGGS WERE DELICIOUS Do Not leave without trying them out! 5 Stars!
Nice place, good locations
Fun little hideaway!
Clean and cozy too! It has a great living room where we were able to visit with our Gettysburg cousins. We had a great time. Elizabeth was great with communication and check in was easy.
Wonderful Trip to Gettysburg
My wife and I both enjoyed staying at the Generals Hideaway with it proximity to the battlefield and its old farm atmosphere.
Live in History
Great locations, short distances to Adam County Winery, around the corner from Cashtown Inn. Located right where the Confederates came through to get to Gettysburg. My family loved this trip. We enjoyed fire pit at night and Gettysburg was 8 miles straight up the road. Owner was just a text away and everything we needed was there. Highly recommend this property, especially history buffs.
