What a perfect home, in a perfect location, in the perfect town. Another couple and us stayed for two weeks at the cottage and it couldn't have been better. Two king bedrooms, nice bathrooms and views of the harbor to die for. We spent mornings in the sun room drinking coffee and days hiking/walking and exploring the countryside. And the best part was the Spanaird across the street. Great little pub with good food and lovely staff. We did a two day trip up to Dublin and the Giants Causeway, another day to Limerick races and then the Dingle peninsula. The cottage was the perfect base camp and it always felt wonderful to 'come home' to it.
We used this rental as a home base for a family trip to Ireland. It is conveniently located above the town on a hill. The quick ten-minute walk keeps you away from the city noise but it is close enough to enjoy the nightlife.
We were easily able to make day trips to Waterford, Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, and the Ring of Dingle.
The house itself is incredibly comfortable with amazing views. We were a group of six adults and all found the accommodations to be impeccable. At the bottom of the hill (a five minute walk) is a small grocery store but if you are willing to walk 15 minutes you have access to full sized market. We took advantage of the kitchen and made full breakfasts each morning and one evening meal with items purchased at the Wednesday city market. A few kitchen staple ingredients like sugar and seasonings were available as well.
The property manager, Donna, is great to work with and went above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
This house is amazing. Perfect size for our group. The pictures on website are a true depiction of how great the house looks including the views of the ocean. Felt at home the minute I arrived. Immaculately clean and maintained but with a very comfortable feeling. The location was great, across from the Spaniard and Man Friday restaurants and within easy walking distance to town center with so many great things to do and see and place to eat....all with great food and friendly service. We explored from Waterford to Cork to Killarney and this location was a terrific starting point plus wonderful to come back to at end of day. The property manager was terrific and couldn't have been more accommodating. She was always available for questions or concerns and made the entire process as easy as possible. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely rent it again.
The town of Kinsale is one of the most charming in Ireland and the location & view from Hill Cottage could not be better! A quick walk to town, a lovely walking, jogging trail right behind the house. Coffee on the patio overlooking the water & boats...just lovely. The fireplace made the place quite cozy. Everything you need for self-catering - comfy beds, warm blankets - wish I were back there!
Our two families enjoyed a wonderful week in Hill Cottage. The house is quite comfortable with truly stunning views of the harbor. The location is ideal for those who would prefer not to rent a car. It's an easy 10 minute walk to town for groceries, and a lovely 20 minute walk around the harbor to Charles Fort. Best of all, The Spaniard is right across the street-- a quiet little pub with great food and music. Highly recommend a week in Hill Cottage!
We have just returned from the most wonderful trip to Kinsale and this beautiful cottage. Perfectly located in Scilly, opposite the renowned 'Spaniard', this cottage proved the perfect base for a family get together / holiday. It is quaint and cosy, yet comfortably accommodates a larger group (8 plus a toddler in our case). It is within a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants of Kinsale, and has a pub and two restaurants literally on the doorstep (yet without noise). The views across Kinsale harbour from the conservatory, kitchen/dining room, bedrooms and patio are stunning. The manager was a joy to deal with (we have encountered her during another trip and were delighted to make contact again). She makes the booking and arrival process very easy and straightforward. A lovely home away from home, in a beautiful location.
Kinsale is one of Ireland's oldest and most picturesque towns. The house is located in Scilly, a short stroll into the town centre. Scilly is home to the famous Man Friday Restaurant, Spaniard Bar and the beautiful Scilly walk - a coastal pedestrian route that takes in the breath taking harbour views.
