About Fabiana

I am an Italo-Argentinian woman who chose this special site on the wonderful island of Sardinia as my residence since 1990. I am used to travelling around the world for work, previously as an airline stewardess & more recently as a fashion designer. I have spent a lot of my time in Asia.

I always look forward to getting back to this paradise. I love living amidst this wonderful natural environment that is calming and gets close to the spirit, in a very pure contact with nature. When I come back from my trips abroad I live in the house located 80 meters from the cottage. I renovated the houses to be a reflection of the ancient Sardinian style, respecting the environment while incorporating modern materials. I furnished them with touches of Asian style to create a fusion of old & new, Asian and Mediterranean.

This will be the very first time I am going to rent the cottage and I hope that all my guests will enjoy the magical atmosphere of the place.

Wonderful and peaceful holidays in Fabiane's house

  • 5 of 5

Fabiana's house is simply wonderful an oasis of peace and green which will help you to switch off any disturbing ideas. It's trully inspired by Asia which makes it even more interesting. You'll definitely enjoy Fabiana's hospitality.

You'll for sure need car, but once you're settled you just need to think which of the beautiful beaches or places with restaurants you'll enjoy.

We'll for sure come back to this house. Also because we need to show to our son where he has been concieved ;).

Idyllic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we were so pleased to be staying in Casa Isabel. Fabiana was so kind and hospitable during our stay and we enjoyed hearing about how lovingly she created her delightful cottage. Everything was as we expected and more. We also thoroughly enjoyed all the animals and wildlife that visited us while we were there including the local pets and most especially the large and small tortoises. Typical of anywhere in the Mediterranean, the mosquitoes were annoying at night so do go equipped. As has been said by many, you definitely need a car because the cottage is so perfectly isolated and private. We would definitely recommend the cottage as we had the most relaxing time at Casa Isabel and will definitely be making a return visit.

What a special place

  • 5 of 5

We found the house just as it was presented on the site. For those who love non-standard acommodation a great pick. Fabiana is a gem. A very caring and dependable person. I.e. - she helped us setup internet access (which for some is a totally unimportant matter). The barking dogs mentioned in other reviews where not too much of an issue for us. We can wholeheartedly recommend the place and the service. Thanks, Fabiana!

Wonderful!

  • 4 of 5

This house is absolutely wonderful and it is in a very peaceful and relaxing environment. You definitely need a car if staying here as it is a bit out of the way but definitely worth it. The house is beautiful and very well set up for a great holiday. Not too far from all the towns and beaches. We loved staying here. The only drawback was that, at the time we stayed there, it was extremely hot and there was no air conditioner, only a fan which didn't help much so sleeping at night was moderately uncomfortable. Other than that, it was perfect.

Owner's Response: Thanks to all my guests for taking the time to write reviews of their journey at the house. This helps to improve the services. Weather this year in Sardegna has been very weird. Temperatures have raised to 41°/42° C day after day and it has not rained since may. Wind is seldom blowing. These conditions are very unusual for the island and I agree it is being very hot. Day and night. Casa Isabel has 40cm terracotta bricks walls and a ventilated roof. Therefore, very good isolation. Proper use of blinds, windows and doors keep the house fresh. And until now AC was not needed. My policy is avoiding unnecesary consumption of energy. Having an AC in such a large volume of area may lead to misuse of the system working all day long without necessity. I will make the changes necessaries to enhace the comfort while staying at the house. But always with the same policy of respect to the enviroment.

A lovely relaxing getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week here and found it a wonderful base for travelling all over North Sardinia.

We found everything as described on the website, and were delighted at how well kept the property was both inside and outside.

Fabiana was very helpful and friendly.

The bathroom with the stone bath is quite special. We loved the upstairs section and looking up at the wooden rafters.

There is no heating, simply an open fire, so it can get cool at night. However there a plenty of blankets.

The roads around Casa Isabel have a lot to be desired with at least a 5 mins drive on loose gravel before reaching the 'asphalt'. But our Fiat 500 coped no problem.

Places we really liked were Santa Teresa di Gallura and Alghero.

There is some great sightseeing in this area to enjoy.

Times and distances from the house:

Fifteen minutes drive to San Pantaleo. A picturesque Sardinian village with a backdrop of incredible granite mountains, with a cute piazza where you can stop for cocktails and local cuisine. Thursday morning there is a craft and vegetable market. Good restaurants and exclusive boutiques.

Cannigione village is 13 km. It has a pier and a marina where you can go fishing or rent rubber boats. Daily boat tours are available too. There is also a long pristine beach with crystal water and some hidden small bays. It will make it feel like you are on your own private beach .

22 km and you arrive in Palau, a small and pretty town with all the amenities. Good playground that your kids will love and the port from where ferries leave to La Maddalena and Caprera islands. Palau is another good place for renting a boat to visit the magnificent Archipelago of La Maddalena and its national park.

Not so far from Palau is La Tomba dei Giganti, an archeological site where people go for healing because of the special energy of its rocks.

Porto Pollo is a paradise beach for windsurfers and kite surfers. It has some of the best winds on the Mediterranean coast.

Going North from Palau you will find fantastic clear water beaches. Then arriving to Santa Teressa di Gallura you cannot miss a visit to La Valle della Luna, (Moon Valley). This place will literally transport you to the moon. Caves and rocks mixed with beaches and sea. There is a one hour ferry crossing to Corse, France, to land in Bonifacio, a beautiful port in a deep fiord.

You will soon become familiar with Arzachena which is 6km from the house. It is the closest small town, with supermarkets, the post office, chemists and bars.

Famous Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda are 20 km. Luxury boats, shops and villas mixed with emerald water beaches.

If you prefer inland tours there are 1st millennium olive trees on the way to Sant'Antonio, different archaeological sites, vineyards and thermal waters. Perfect for cycling tours. Clean air and healthy atmosphere, with good asphalt roads.

There are also many agritourism establishments in the locality which boast great fresh cuisine. Food in Sardinia is exquisite. Good wines and cheeses, with many bio and homemade products. Within 5kms there is a fresh water spring, equipped with a tap to fill your drinking water containers from.

No wonder longevity is one of the characteristics of the Sardinian population.
