The Old Shop nestles amongst the delightful pastel coloured properties in the village of Flushing. Located just opposite the bustling town of Falmouth, the village is famed for its mild climate and offers a relaxing base from which to explore Cornwall.
This bolthole is an unexpected gem, much more spacious than the exterior suggests and a perfect retreat for a couple. The open plan living-room has an electric flame effect fire for cosiness (plus electric heaters), a comfortable sofa to stretch out on, an armchair and a dining table.
The separate kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, washing machine / dryer and a dishwasher. Though with 3 excellent eateries on your doorstep you will be forgiven for not spending too much time in here!
Outside is a small courtyard with seating area perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
The bright and sunny bedroom has patio doors that lead out onto the courtyard, a wardrobe, dressing table and huge super king size bed while the separate shower room has a WC, basin and walk in shower.
The Old Shop is located on the ground floor and on one level.
This is the perfect location for walkers (a well-behaved dog is welcome) with a series of local footpaths on your doorstep. Sailors will appreciate the many facilities in the area, while explorers will love the little Flushing Ferry that crosses the river to Falmouth and links up with a network of ferries that run to destinations such as St Mawes, The Helford River and Truro.

Flushing is known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect. It has pretty quiet streets lined with pastel coloured terraced fisherman’s cottages, and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community.
A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.
Flushing has two friendly pubs, a stunning seafood restaurant located on the quayside, and a well-stocked friendly shop. It also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it’s own year round dog-friendly beach.
