----------------------------

The apartment of 50 square meters (538 square feet) is a typical old home of 17th century just renovated.

It is spacious, clean, comfortable and nice.

It is made for experiencing the real Rome, not an Americanized version.

It is on the first European floor above ground level (USA 2nd floor), with elevator.

It has an original beam ceiling (about 3 m. high).

Its windows overlook an interior courtyard, therefore it is very quiet,

warm in winter and cool in summer as our previous guests reviews confirm.

Sleeps (maximum 4-5):

2 people queen bed (strong and comfortable) in the bedroom;

1 single bed in the entrance;

2 single beds in the living-room

+ cot for baby

Free WIFI connection

The apartment is composed by:

- ENTRANCE with a single day bed, cupboard (please see vrbo photo 2); it opens on to the living room;

- LIVING ROOM with sofa, table & chairs, chest of drawers, TV, cot & high chair for baby, cupboard with dishes & glasses, iron, ironing board, (1-2 eventual additional beds), free WIFI (Wireless Internet) ; the French window opens on to a quiet tiny terrace in the courtyard; it is divided from the bedroom by a door (vrbo photos 1 & 3-7);

- Fully equipped KITCHENETTE with gas cooker, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, cutlery, pots & pans; its window overlooks the courtyard (vrbo photo 5);

- One double BEDROOM with a queen size new confortable bed (160 x 200 cm, corresponding to 63 x 79 in) and a large wardrobe; it is divided from the living room by a door; its French window opens on to the quiet tiny terrace in the courtyard (vrbo photo 8);

- One BATHROOM with a shower and separate water closet and bidet, hairdryer; its window overlooks the courtyard (vrbo photos 9-10); although there is one bathroom, it is a separate shower/sink area and water closet, an asset when more than one person is getting ready to go out;

- Tiny terrace in the courtyard, divided from the apt. by gates (vrbo photo 11).

There is a beautiful COMMON TERRACE on the roof top of the building, accessible by elevator, where you can bring your pizza & a bottle of wine, sit and enjoy a stunning view on St. Peter's dome, Janiculum hill and Baroque Rome (vrbo photos 12-13)

THE APARTMENT IS NON SMOKING.

Perfect location: near Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori and Vatican, in the heart of historical and archeological Rome.

Tourist information point (Roma Pass & Hop-on-Hop-off tickets), phone center just round the corner.

All places of interest (museums, monuments...), ATM machines, travel agencies, shops, restaurants are at walking distance.

About mirella

I live in the same building where is the apartment I rent, on the third floor. Therefore I can help guests for any eventuality. With me just upstairs, you will feel visiting family.

I know my town very well as my old family lives in Rome since Julius Cesar time.

I made classical studies and I have a licence in Political Sciences. I have been an official at European Union Commission in Brussels, Belgium.

Then I became a teacher specializing in language teacher training.

I teach Italian and French (as a second language) to students and language teaching methods to language teachers. I have many years of experience in this field.

I organize for my guests:

- lessons (Italian & French for foreigners, cooking, painting, art);

- guided tours in Rome and outside Rome;

- pick-up from/to airports, from/to Civitavecchia port.

I speak French & English and I love art.

mirella purchased this condo in 1984

Why mirella chose Rome

The apartment is in the same building than my home, so I can help my guests on every eventuality. You'll feel at home and you'll live in Rome as Romans do.

My family lives in this area since Julius Caesar's era. That's why I love and know very well my town.

One of the most valued features of the apartment is its location in the old district of Rome: it gets you away from the tourist crowds and right into a wonderful, Italian neighbourhood “Centro Storico”.

Address: Via Banchi Vecchi.

The apartment block is situated between the Vatican and Campo de’ Fiori, in the heart of historical and archaeological Rome.

The location of the apartment makes it easy to get to all the places of interest

(Piazza Navona, Castel S. Angelo, Colosseo… monuments and museums)

either by walking or by taking the convenient bus lines.

Well connected to all areas of Rome by public transportation (bus stops, taxi stands are so accessible).

The area is very safe.

What makes this condo unique

Just around the corner: fashionable shops and characteristic eating places, supermarkets, groceries & bakeries, pharmacy, laundrette, art galleries, antique shops, bookstores, jeweller’s,

Internet Point/Phone Center, banks with ATM machines, travel agencies, post office. A fascinating open air fresh food market is held every morning in the medieval Campo de' Fiori square nearby.

PARKING nearby www.parkingviagiulia.it

On request :

TAXI SERVICE with from/to the airport, from/to Civitavecchia Port.

LESSONS (Italian and French for Foreigners, Italian Cuisine, Porcelain Painting, Watercolor).

MEALS (We can prepare typical Italian meals)

TOURS: Individually designed guided tours, tailored to meet individual tastes and requirements,

can be arranged to show historical and artistic aspects of:

ROME (walking tours or transport arranged with Mercedes passenger van))

OUTSIDE ROME (transport arranged with Mercedes passenger van)

Great Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Mirella was such a gracious hostess. As soon as we arrived she gave as a complete tour of the apartment explaining all details. She also had the most detailed, complete package (7 pages I think) of information about the apartment, touring Rome etc of any apartment that we’ve ever stayed at. The apartment is very centrally located but on a lovely, quiet street. Added bonus is the beautiful view on the roof terrace.

We missed our train to Rome and so Mirella had to wait for us and was completely lovely about it.

Rome was our third apartment and by far the most comfortable bed.

When I return to Rome, I will definitely stay here again.

Also, if you have foodie friends you want to pick up gifts for just down the block from the apartment is wonderful store (Delizie - Via Dei Banchi Vecchi 33/34) where you can pick up things truffle oil, candy, etc.)

Magical Apartment in the Heart of the Old City of Rome

  • 5 of 5

My stay at Mirella's apartment is one of my most magical stays. Mirella made us (myself and my 2 friends ) feel right at home the moment she met us. She also helped us get to know the old city of Rome. As we were quite hungry when we arrived she recommended a lovely restaurant just a stones throw away. It was so good we visited it several times. Even though there were 3 of us, we felt we had our own privacy given the layout of the apartment - which was quite spacious given that it's central location. To us what made this apartment a unique experience was its roof top terrace. It was lovely to sit and enjoy a drink while savouring the views of everyday Italian life, and St. Peters Basilica as well. I will definitely be returning!

Cute apartment stay in good location in Rome!

  • 5 of 5

Mirella's apartment was our favorite place to stay in all of Italy! Mirella met us upon arrival, and we were able to get into the place earlier than check-in since it was ready. She had maps available and pointed us in the direction of things nearest to us - she was so helpful and made the experience very nice!

The apartment had such a home-y feel and really had everything you needed. The outside terrace was very nice, and the shared rooftop terrace area was so beautiful! Bed was not the most comfortable mattress ever (maybe just a little firmer than our tastes) but shutters kept the bedroom very dark, and we were still able to get a good night sleep.

Would recommend to anyone though and stay again if we ever made it back!

Wonderful Place!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in Mirella's apartment, and it was just as wonderful as it was for our first visit, 5 years ago. The location couldn't be better--walking distance to everything and the neighborhood is filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants. Mirella is a gracious host, and helped us book our cars to and from the airport. I can't wait to return and stay with her again!

Third time's the charm

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay in Mirella's apartment in the Centro Storico, simply because it's the best location in Rome. It's a flat easy walk to everything, it's close to the buses you need to get to the Vatican Museum (23, from near the river) or the train station (64 from Corso Vittorio Emanuele), and there is everything you need close by - supermarket, patisserie, cafes, laundromat/lavanderia, excellent restaurants and a newly opened gelateria.

Mirella is a fabulous host, bringing us traditional pastries, leaving fruit and organising restaurant bookings and cars to the airport for us.

We will be back next time we're in Rome.
