You will really enjoy your stay in our Historic Victorian home originally built in 1832 and updated throughout it's life. It is located in Dayton's Oregon Historic district which not only has a neighborhood of similar historic homes but is also the heart of Dayton's food and entertainment. A short 1 block walk brings you to 5th Street with numerous very good restaurants, bars, brewery, distillery, and specialty shops. Furthermore, the house is located with very easy access to at the two main freeways: US35 which takes you east or west and I-75 which is a major north or south corridor. Most of downtown Dayton is within walking distance with venues such as the convention center, Riverscape, and the Dayton Dragons baseball stadium. Dayton is know for it's outdoor recreation especially the hundreds of miles of bike trails with the river trail a very short distance away. The house itself has high speed Internet (Wifi), DirectTV, and a DVD (with many DVDs available). There are two bonus areas for reading or playing with some of the available board games or puzzles. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishwasher, microwave, stovetop and oven as well as a toaster and coffee maker (with coffee). The main bathroom has a tub and a separate large shower. There is off street parking and a patio in the back.

About Jeff Fisher
We have lived in Dayton for over 35 years. Both of us are retired from the USAF: Barb was a civilian and Jeff was military. Since retirement Jeff has rebuilt and rehabilitated numerous houses in Dayton's historic neighborhoods. Currently Jeff and Barb who live next to this house are engaged in travel and photography. When home Barb likes to tend our large (for the Oregon District anyway) garden.
Jeff Fisher purchased this House in 2008
What makes this House unique
Very close to the Fifth Street entertainment district with it's great bars, restaurants, shops, breweries and a distillery. Also very convenient to Dayton's highway system and is in walking distance to downtown, the Dayton Dragons baseball and other entertainment.

Wonderful place to stay.
This is a wonderful and charming house -- immaculate, freshly and thoughtfully done, loads of attention to detail, great location, great owners. As one other guest commented, there is a bit of a glitch in the fact that because it's a house in an historic district, the door to the second bedroom doesn't close. Even with that, this is hands down my favorite place to stay in Dayton.
clean everything worked park 1 block away
Lengthy Stay in Oregon District, Dayton Ohio
It's always a pleasant surprise when pictures and 'actual' are the same.
This historic home has been renovated to provide up to date amenities without losing the original charm of the house.
The house, in a great location is within walking distance to restaurants and movies and Dayton history and an easy walk to the many green spaces of the city.
Jeff and Barbara, home owners, have attended to every detail to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The best way to describe our stay is to suggest that we immediately felt like we were in our own "home".
We certainly would stay here again and in fact are now planning a return visit.

Clean property in a Great location!!
Pros: As the title mentions, the place was very clean (no dust or cobwebs) and the owners even had the outside windows cleaned the day after our arrival. Kitchen, bath and laundry rooms came fully stocked with just about everything you could think of to make for a convenient stay. Beds were sturdy and comfortable. WiFi functioned without any issues throughout our stay. There are tons of reading and board game options with even a few DVDs should you desire a relaxing day in.
The home is within short walking distance to the popular Oregon District strip, Riverscape and a beautifully maintained small community park. I loved the friendliness of the neighbors and the small "community" feel. Despite being near downtown I felt very safe on my morning runs and evening walks. There was never any issue with my vehicle being parked outside and we kept the front door open for light everyday.
Cons: Home is exactly as depicted in the pictures so there are no couches which made for uncomfortable entertaining. Second bedroom door does not close without some sort of make-shift wedge to keep it from opening. Carpeting around the Master Bedroom fireplace has some sort of sharp object (staples?) that is not visible to the eye which was unfortunately discovered by my bare feet and that of my 3 yr old niece....ouch!
We experienced plumbing issues from day 1 that were never fully resolved despite the owners best efforts. Due to these issues the home was entered with no warning once while we were away and once while I was getting undressed upstairs (the owners live next door). Muddy foot prints and debris left behind by contractors that required cleaning on more than one occasion. The owners did offer monetary compensation for our trouble that amounted to $15.
