Description

Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Castels - La Grande Vue in St Cyprien

4 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms and exquisite views of the Dordogne River Valley.

La Grande Vue is a magnificent 4-storey villa situated in the village of Saint Cyprien, on the sloping hillside above the Dordogne River in the Aquitaine region of France. With rustic stone walls and breathtaking views, La Grande Vue ideal for a holiday at anytime of the year.

The house boasts exquisite views, modern finishes and plenty of space for groups of six to ten people. In winter the double-glazed windows, central heating and two fireplaces keep it cosy and warm; and in summer the thick stone walls keep it remarkably cool, with help from the air conditioning on sweltering hot days.

This 245m2 four-storey house has been recently refurnished to ensure all four bedrooms and the living areas are comfortable and modern. Working from the ground up, the first floor consists of a fully equipped kitchen, with a round table that seats eight; a separate scullery; a guest loo; and a grand dining room. The dining room table also seats eight people and there are sofas around the fireplace, giving it a relaxed, homely feel. A wrought-iron table and chairs are available if you want to sit outside at street level to watch the world go by as you enjoy your morning coffee.

The next level has an open plan sitting room with two separate seating areas, a fireplace and wide balcony. A study/ TV room leads off this living area, fully equipped with a flat screen TV, cable services and free Wi-Fi, which is available throughout the house. There is also a guest bathroom on this level.

The two main en-suite bedrooms are on the third level. One has a semi-enclosed terrace with tables, chairs and a bar fridge. The other two bedrooms are on the fourth level and share a bathroom; one has a three-quarter bed and two single beds, and the other has a double bed and a three-quarter bed.

The house is walking distance from the shops, restaurants and medieval church in Saint Cyprien.

We sincerely want to thank the owner for the amazing quickness of handling the dryer. It really has helped with our trip. He 's willingness to take care of

the situation immediately is something we have not experienced before. Many thanks.

We want to tell you we have been renting homes all over Europe and the States for the last five years and this home is the absolute best. This home is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Everything is so top notch! We are so happy here. Laurence is taking wonderful care of the home and she is a delight.

You have been there every time we have needed you. We are just so thrilled and we want you all to know how much your efforts have made our visit so wonderful.

Superb accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this property is superb - it is well worth a visit! Besides being conveniently located, it is exquisite enough to make you want to stay indoors for your whole holiday. Every detail is thought of (and beautiful!) and you really couldn't want for anything more. While the pictures looked beautiful before we got there, it was even better in 'real life'. It comfortably suits groups but would be just as lovely for a couple as there is enough space in the house to avoid being on top of each other and yet is warm, cosy and very inviting.

Booking is easy and the owner very helpful and we would highly recommend this property to anyone. It will surpass your expectations and offers so much more than you could ever dream of!

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying in this comfortable, elegant and spotlessly clean home and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break. The local area has much to offer and St Cyprien is a great location to explore the region.

The house is enormous and has everything you might need and there are enough local shops and supermarkets nearby. We had a slight problem with a faulty microwave which blew a main fuse in the house and couldn't believe it when an electrician turned up within 10 minutes to fix the fuse and a new microwave was delivered within hours!

The only possible downside is the proximity of the house to the abbey and its tuneful bells which chime all through the night - so light sleepers could do well to choose a room on the opposite side of the building.

We will miss sitting on the terrace at dusk to take in the glorious view and watch the swooping swallows!

Incredible Property in the Perigord Region

  • 5 of 5

An incredible vacation experience in the Perigord region! La Grande Vue is located in a picturesque medieval town in the heart of the Perigord region, close to Sarlat, Hautefort, Cadouin, Beynac and many other exceptional tourist locations. The home has been impeccably restored and sumptuously furnished. For those who love to cook, it features a dream kitchen with virtually every imaginable tool and enough dishes and glassware for a party of 30. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and have comfortable mattresses and top of the line linens and duvet covers. The home features laundry facilities, WiFi, on-site parking, etc. Our only regret is that we didn't book the villa for a longer stay. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks Anthony and Laurence for your incredible hospitality! The Milligan family, Lexington, SC

Stunning Property / Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This house is truly stunning. It's beautiful, immaculate, comfortable and in a fantastic location. The terrace is great and we spent many an evening on it enjoying a bottle or two of wine. You are less than a two minute stroll from the shops and cafes of Saint Cyprien and a short drive from the main sites of The Dordogne. Thanks to Anthony and Laurence for providing such a wonderful house. We look forward to staying again soon.

An unforgettable stay at The Grande Vue!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Antony

We so really enjoyed our stay at the Grande Vue that it was difficult to leave.

All was perfect: the house was so clean (thank you Laurence), so spacious, so nice and well furnished & equipped!

We couldn't dream a better place to stay and visit this interesting area (Sarlat and medieval villages, castles, Lascaux caves, ...).

Thank you for all.

Hoping to coming back soon.

Sincerely

Maryse and François (Paris)

Beautiful House in Charming Village

  • 5 of 5

The house is surrounded by the charming village of St. Cyprien, has gorgeous views and a great location from which to explore the castles, caves and beautiful countryside of the region. The house is tastefully furnished with elegance and comfort in mind. It is very well stocked with board games, shelves of books, extra linens and towels. It is very well taken care of. Close by you will find the supermarket Carrefour, in which you can buy ingredients to cook a wonderful meal in the fully equiped gourmet kitchen. Every member of our extended family loved the house and would like to stay in it again for our next family reunion.
