This 8,000 metre estate is one of the few examples left from a more splendid age which Tenerife knew when the Island was a paradise known only to a few Europeans. The 'finca' has outstanding views of Teide, the sea and the Oratava Valley. Its situation is excellent for travelling to other parts of the island as it is close to the motorway yet only a few minutes from the beach and the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. Close to the finca is to be found one of the best restaurants in the area. Although the origins of the finca dates to the XV1th century, the house itself dates back to the early XXth century. It is an elegant house with large rooms which have been carefully maintained. Mainly traditional furniture. The tropical gardens are a special feature with charming and secluded corners where one can relax with a book or merely admire the scenery. For the more energetic there is a tennis court with tennis racquets available free of charge, a swimming pool, a sauna, all set in lush vegetation with fruit trees. These facilities are shared amongst the 5 houses. This spacious house stretches over two floors with access to a rooftop terrace. Enjoy meals at the long dinner table on the ground floor, or on the outside patio in front of the kitchen. The master bedroom with its wide screen windows is the most special bedroom of the house – you may have to toss a coin. For sunbathing in private use the small rooftop terrace. From the roofs tower platform enjoy a spectacular 360° view over the Orotava valley and the Atlantic Ocean .

About Ana B. Reid

My name is Ana B. Reid. I live in Tenerife and I have been many years receiving clients on this spectacular finca, doubtless the most spectacular one I have seen in Tenerife. Its proximity to Puerto de la Cruz makes it a comfortable place to stay. I know the area very well and I give all the guests very useful information about beaches, restaurants, and must on this side of the island, where you can find 80% of the Tourist Attractions. I also have a lot of experience with tourist, as I studied Business Administration at University, I was selected to participate on the exchange students programme with Manchester University and a Master on Leisure and Tourist industry. Afte my studies, I worked in several companies until March 99, when I started her own project with a company specialising on Tenerife and called Tenerife Country Villas, getting the Tourist License from Gobierno (Goverment) de Canarias. Coming from an English family, I perfectly understand the wishes and hobbies of our European visitors, and being a Tenerife native, I have real information about the island, such as access to any subject which might interest my clients. We have had many clients here and this holiday house is always improving. All our clients come again or recommend it to our friends, which is the guarantee that it is working well. It is a very quiet property, although it has very easy communications everywhere. It has a restaurant with garden only 30 metres from the house that we highly recommend. the elegance of this house is everywhere: on the pergola with views, on the picturesque chapel with many stories behind and the extremely ample spaces.

What makes this house unique

Having a Tennis court is a great advantage, also having a sauna. The pool is heated up to 24ºC and it is a large one, ideal if you like swimming. On the other hand, it has daily cleaning service from Monday to Friday, which is definitely a must. There are only 5 houses on the finca, which guarantees the privacy considering the property is 8000 m2!

Vacation in paradise

The second time my family (with children 6 and 10 years) had a rest in Finka El Drago.

Last year we were very satisfied and this year decided to repeat.

Convenient location, quiet, beautiful garden (avocado, palm trees, flowers) .Green parrot wakes up in the morning. Sauna and tennis courts for a healthy holiday.

Staff quietly do their work every morning. Cleanliness and tidiness.

Thank you Anna. She gave full information about shops, restaurants, etc.

We will definitely return to paradise.

Perfect stay!

We have stayed in Finca el Drago 300m house and it was perfect. The house is huge and well equipped with all you need. Great place for family with kids, even the very small one as the garden allows them to walk around in a safe area. Our little one just started to walk and it was so easy to walk around or when she got tired to put her to the buggy and she could still sleep outside. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. All you need is a car / bus to get to places nearby (you can walk to the shops, just next to the cars which is only so nice).

We will definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Our family (with 2 children) spent a wonderful holiday in Finca el Drago.

Beautiful views, finca, interior and landscape. All well maintained and always felt the work. Calm and quiet. Great location for exploring the island. Very good cleaning every day.

They were given instructions on how to reach the finca, on the best restaurants, shops, etc. We were very pleased.

We couldn't believe what a brilliant place this is. The location is perfect for seeing the north of Tenerife. You can easily walk to La Orotava, one of the loveliest towns I've seen in Spain, get to most other places by nearby public transport, or access the motorway system in minutes. The site itself has to be seen to be believed. It is beautifully landscaped and maintained with magnificent views, and perfect for sunbathing by the pool, if you like that sort of thing. The house, one of a number on the finca, and each different from all the others, is of a classic design and furnishing. We used the sunny terrace as it was January, but there are two other terraces in comparative shade, perfect for when it gets hot. Any problem we had was quickly resolved by Lucy. There were some minor irritations, but we hope to go back again.

Magnifique sejour

Nous avons passé un sejour merveilleux dans cette villa avec nos enfants. La propriété est superbe avec une belle vue sur l océan et sur le Teide, avec tennis' piscine ´ espaces verts, tout y est pour passer de bonnes vacances. C est très bien entretenu, propre ( la femme de ménage passe tous les jours dans la villa). Et l emplacement sur l ile est parfait pour visiter les alentours et le nord de l ile. Nous reviendrons avec certitude !

Finca El Drago Apartments

After quite a bit of research, we booked with Finca El Drago for a week in the North Of Tenerife.

We knew it can be slightly cooler/wetter in the North but we preferred to get away from the concrete jungles of the South and to be honest, with a hire car you can get the best of both worlds.

You also get better value accommodation in the North which is another good benefit.

We also wanted to be nearer the authentic parts of Tenerife and to sample some local restauants and not just tourist traps.

The accommodation itself was very spacious and was very well cleaned every other day. The flat had character too that only an older building can offer.

The small complex seemed very safe and secure and everyone we met were really nice and friendly. We didn't feel that we needed a safe to store valuables in

The gardens around the property is a real asset and gives the property a relaxing setting.

The laundry room downstairs was a handy benefit too.

We never tried the bus service but would recommend hiring a car, (cicar seem to have the fairest insurance set up from experience) to get to restaurants, shops and nearby towns of Puerto De La Cruz and Orotava. Garachico is lovely too and not that far away by car.

Also, if the weather turns against you, often a relatively short drive in Tenerife will let you find different weather!

We would definitely stay here again and thank the staff for a nice stay in the meantime.

We can send a map with situation of this finca, which is very good as it has excellent communications to everywhere. Most of our clients book again on this house, I like mentioning also that there is a big road next to it, 150 metres, although there is such an amount of vegetation there that absolutely no one has complaint before. Only on the busy hours of the day, and from the south garden (never inside the houses), you can hear the whispering of some traffic, but it is so low that I insist that no one notice, I guarantee that. I went last month to do the annual check ( like checking the properties I rent) and I was very pleased of the maintenance. This is our most successful property. The north gardens have views to Puerto de la Cruz and the sea.

It is situated on the limit of Puerto de la Cruz. The house is surrounded by a lot of vegetation which gives a quiet atmosphere. On the main road walking 220 metres from the house there is the Bus Stop, every half and hour there is a bus stop going up to La Orotava centre and Bus Station there and also every half an hour there is a bus going down to Puerto de la Cruz centre and the beach.

Just near the property, on the left side, you can find Restaurant Los Perales, we recommend you to book a Garden table, definitely we recommend "arroz caldoso" their specialty (a kind of rice with sea food, it is absolutely delicious, they also have a wide range of excellent wines).

On the same side, about 350 metres, you can find the famous restaurant Lucas, considered the best on the north. On the other side of the road you have two more restaurants, but you have to walk 400 metres for that. There is also a very good restaurant very simple called "El ramal" which is actually the tipical house for local food (we call it "Guachinche"), delicious and Euros 7 per person! A bit further you can find the cool "Lucas", romantic and stylish, the best restaurant on this side of the island.

For supermarket, we recommend you use the big comercial center down near Martianez Beach, or walk up to La Orotava centre, where there are also some good supermarkets and more restaurants.

To get to Martianez beach, the easiest thing to do is to take the bus (it takes only 4 minutes to get there). The bus service here is cheap (especially if you use a Bono-Bus card) and punctual. You can also be collected by a taxi (I will provide a telephone number)
